Great host and a lovely property. Perfect for our family getaway. Kim was very helpful with local recommendations. The property had everything we needed and simple instructions so nothing was a hassle.

Superb detached house, in quiet location with a cosy feel despite being very large. Amazing views and spacious gardens ideal for adventurous kids. We had a lovely time here with extended family and the hosts have thoughtfully included everything needed for an easy home from home feel. Would highly recommended staying here.

We stayed for 5 nights and absolutely loved it! James was an excellent host with very clear instructions on directions to the property and how to gain entry. The property was immaculate on arrival with a very handy information book with instructions on how to use all the appliances. The kitchen was well equipped and has a good sized dining table, the living room was comfortable and with a smart TV making it easy to login to Disney+, Netflix ect. Both bedrooms had plenty of space and built in wardrobes and both beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also very good with a spacious shower, we had no problems with the power or heat of the shower. The neighbors are very friendly too. The pub which is just a two minute walk over the road also served lovey meals and good had good service. We would definitely recommend staying here and would return if in the area again.

We loved our stay in this charming and peaceful place! Amanda was always responsive and helpful but also left us to enjoy the space. It has everything you need plus more (a lovely view and amazing bathtub!) If you have long hair I’d suggest taking a hairdryer just to have a more powerful one (there is one provided which did the job), but really nothing to fault and we would stay again!

We have had a lovely stay at the boathouse which was just amazing! The boat house its self is beautiful, clean and comfortable with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! It is very well equipt, plenty of towels, blankets and even robes. We loved the hot tub with views over the lake. The location of the boathouse was just perfect for us and the views were stunning! We took our own paddle boards and was so happy to be able to launch straight from the jetty to explore the lake. My daughter also loved feeding the ducks from the jetty. We have had a busy few days on local bike trails, hikes, paddle boarding, boating and having some lovely meals out in beautiful Bowness, but always looked forward to returning to the boathouse! We will definitely be returning! Thank you

We had a fantastic two nights stay at this place and the host Alison was easy to contact and happy to help with instructions for check in and even had the place ready a little earlier for us to check in as this was made possible on the day of arrival. Overall a fantastic stay and the location was perfect for all the local bars and restaurants in the area being only a short five minute walk from Bowness beach waterfront.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning spa chalet with my partner, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Nestled in a peaceful setting, the chalet combines natural beauty with luxurious comfort. The atmosphere was serene and calming—perfect for unwinding and recharging. Inside, the chalet was beautifully designed, with cozy interiors, tasteful décor, and every modern comfort thoughtfully provided. We had a lovely stay; the location is wonderful, surrounded by farmland with baby lambs overlooking the seating area! The apartment is very well specced and looked after, with a small garden house further up the hill opposite and an amazing river a short walk across the fields where we went for a swim. The photos do not do the property justice, it is a gem. Would definitely come back to use as a quiet base to explore the lakes from again.

Firstly, I'd like to start by saying I'm fussy. I like to ensure I have a clean, very comfortable place to say with nothing to hide (some places can be quite deceiving from listing's). This place is small but absolutely amazing. Worth every pound, and to be honest, the host could charge more if she needed based on the great effort in every detail that's gone into the property. Easy to find, with a bus stop straight outside. Effortless communication, very clean and comfortable, well equipped for our stay. It's clear to see Tann has put her heart into creating a really inviting peaceful space, to give travellers the opportunity to explore Carlisle on a budget. There are hotel chains classed as 4star that aren't as comfortable as this beautiful little annexe/outhouse. We would absolutely stay again if in the area, and would highly recommend.

Jeanette's place was the perfect getaway. Beds were very comfortable and warm. The views from all the windows and sunroom were just stunning, we were happy to lounge around when it rained as the scenery was so delightful, we didn't feel the need to go anywhere. Great bathrooms with heated towel rails with good towels. We just loved our stay here.

The Snug met our needs exactly, and Alison had thoughtfully left many extras in the kitchen to make our stay comfortable. We were sad to leave! Perfect location for exploring one of the most scenic stretches of Hadrian's Wall, very convenient for some of the best sites. We are already planning to book again next year.

Michael was the perfect host. Friendly and helpful. The cottage was so cosy and quaint. The surroundings beautiful and peaceful.

We stayed here for a week and had an amazing time. The location is perfect, within walking distance to Windermere town (about 10 mins) and also Bowness (about 20 mins). The accommodation was spacious and clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Gary and Ange were fantastic hosts, they made us feel very welcome whenever we bumped into them and went above and beyond to return a personal item we accidentally left behind. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again next time we visit the Lake District.

A lovely loft - perfect and just what we needed for our 2 day mini-break. The loft was much bigger than we anticipated so that was a lovely surprise. The little touches were great too - fresh towels, milk, butter, instructions for the hot tub, even some jigsaws for the rainy afternoon. Everything we needed. The outdoor space was so peaceful. Even though we were on the farm’s property, we felt right at home, comfortable and had the privacy we wanted. The neighbours were adorable - cows and their calves! The outdoor space was secure for our two dogs. Plenty of room for them to stretch their legs and play on the grass. Thanks for a great stay!

This bijpu bedsit is perfect for a single person. Peaceful and private, and with everything I needed. The bed was really comfortable, and the whole place was immaculately clean. I was really happy to see environmental measures in place. The location is perfect - spot on for accessing this part of the Lakes, with so many beautiful spots within easy driving distance. Kath's communications were clear and friendly and fast. I would recommend this accommodation and its owners without hesitation.

The flat was lovely, beautifully kitted out and with some interesting lighting features! There was lots of space inside. We appreciated being able to stay a bit longer before checking out so we could have a planned zoom meeting. Thank you for being accommodating.

Dinah’s place is absolutely lovely .. such a beautiful cosy space with everything you need. The court yard space was fantastic to be able to sit outside and enjoy dinner and a drink ..will definitely be back

This place is absolutely stunning, no photo could possibly capture the true beauty of the building. The huge windows overlooking the stream are pure magic. It was an absolute dream of a stay, if you ever feel the need to just switch off and be alone with your thoughts and really unwind this is the place to do it. 100% I will be booking this again, everything was spotless and the decor is straight out of a cottage/industrial living magazine. There is nothing negative to say about this place other than the pure jealousy I feel that I don't live there full time.

We enjoyed our family stay at Glyn’s place very much. Glyn is a friendly gentleman who provided us clear instructions and a lovely place. I’ve been in the Lake District probably a dozen times and this has been my favourite place yet - I’d love to stay again. The beds were comfy. Kitchen really well equipped even for longer stays. The balcony overlooking the river is a proper bonus and a truly delightful place for your morning coffee. I’d rate Glyn 20/10 if I could!

The Barn really is a gem. We were amazed as we arrived how beautiful and peaceful the surroundings were. Kate gave clear instructions how to get there which was really helpful as we found other times on our trip the sat nav led us astray! The barn is so cosy and beautifully furnished, you can tell it’s been done with love and is stylish but very practical too. Had everything we needed for our weekend stay. After a wet day out walking coming back to a hot shower and putting on the wood burner was amazing! We loved our stay and would absolutely come back.

Beautiful and quiet location with great views of the Lake. Walking distance to Bowness with plenty of restaurants to choose from. It was lovely to meet the dogs and Nigel. We both had a wonderful time. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Whitbarrow. The apartment was lovely, with the special addition of the balcony overlooking the beautiful views, which we enjoyed with a cuppa or two. Our boys loved the toys and the drawing that was available to play with but, of course, their highlight was the pool. Local distance to Lowther, buttermere, Penrith, pooley Bridge, Keswick etc so lots to do. We’ll be back soon! 🙂
