Shepherds hut vacation rentals in Cumbria

Had a great time exploring pubs in Haltwhistle and walks of Hadrians wall! Our son loved the shepherds hut, was a great trip!

Perfect space for 3. Cozy, comfortable and great location for history, nature, culture and exercise!

Had a lovely time! Was greeted by Jane on arrival who showed us all amenities and how to use them. Her instructions on how to get there were super helpful and was delighted to find biscuits awaiting us. Very cosy, even cosier when you light the fire place at night. The fridge wasn’t very cold, so something to be aware of when shopping but definitely not a necessity for a shorter stay like ours. We were lucky enough to get to meet her dog, who is very friendly! We were pleasantly surprised at how conveniently located it was, right in the middle of the local village, whilst still being close enough to enjoy the local hiking trails such as old man Coniston. There happened to not be a booking on the day of our leave so Jane was kind enough to give us a more flexible checkout. Definitely a place to stay if you’re wanting a weekend away in Coniston, even if it’s just for the dog ;)

Absolutely lovely place to stay . Andrew was the perfect host. Loved the idea of staying on farm . Quiet, peaceful Just what we were looking for . But facilities were well with in 5 mins in Consett what ever you need . We would rally recommend for the perfect stay xx

Ben's Shepherds Hut was cosy, comfy and had everything we needed for our little home from home on our trip. Beautiful setting - you instantly relax. The hut is lovely and had everything we needed. The private hot shower and toilet was fabulous to have. We have stayed in others that don't have this luxury for double the price)! The beds were comfy and our wee girl loved the bunk bed! the two radiators made the place toasty in no time at all - needed them only 1 night when the rain battered and the North winds blew! It felt so safe and cosy in the hut. Andrew and his wife are so lovely - we were even offered fresh rolls and sausage from the clay pigeon shooting day that they had on that we weren't part of! 😊 We will be back very soon! Our wee girl said she wanted her whole summer holidays here and cuddled her bunk bed before she left! 🤣🥰

Very cosy shepherds hut with all you could need - stayed with 2 dogs so was great to have an enclosed area for them to relax in too!

Really really good stay. Enjoyed the use of the indoor and outdoor fires, especially under the stars and listening to the owls. Kathryn & Trevor have really used the space well and it feels very private. Trevor welcomed us from the beginning and was very friendly and showed us to the hut. Perfect weekend away to recharge and spend quality time with loved ones. Thank you for letting us stay in such a lovely peaceful space! Oh and the sheep are extremely friendly too!

Great wee place to stay, unfortunately weather wasn’t on our side so couldn’t take in all the beauty of the landscape but would definitely return

Exceeded our expectations in every way! It was an amazing stay. Comfy bed, warm and a hot powerful shower. Debbie provided everything we could need and more that we would never have thought of - log burner, umbrella, kettle. We loved the little touches as well with the snacks and milk. We would recommend and definitely stay again!

The place was absolutely adorable we loved it! The details were perfect, they really thought of everything. Wonderful hosts, we will 100% be back in winter for the Christmas tree farm. 10/10

We stayed for one night and loved it! The area was peaceful and you are right at the top of the farm track so feel like no one else is around! The hot tub was lovely once we had worked out how to get the temperature right. We went to Kip & Nook for pizzas and drinks and then for breakfast the next morning, would recommend there too! We would definitely stay again, thank you x

What a beautiful place with such amazing views! Julie greeted us with a warm welcome, she was very friendly and helpful. The shepherd’s hut was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely return and highly recommend it!

This was the most perfect little place to stay!! Exceeded our expectations! Even better than the photos. Richard couldn’t have been more helpful or responsive. The oystercatcher is just perfect we wish we could live there !! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can’t recommend Chris and the Shepherds hut enough. The place is beautiful, there’s three huts onsite but they are positioned so it feels totally secluded and private. Fantastic views of Stoodley Pike. Hot Tub was great and easy to use, hut was immaculately clean and had everything you need to make it a home away from home. Chris was super helpful, getting in touch to offer to clean the tub and change our towels throughout the stay. He also recommended several pubs and restaurants to try in the area, all of which were fantastic. We had a great stay and will definitely be returning in the future.

A lovely, clean and simple pod in a peaceful garden setting. Watching the squirrels scampering around and playing in the trees was such a treat!

Absolutely stunning place. I would go as far to say the best we’ve ever stayed in. Looks just like the photos and as described. Completely rural location, lots of lovely walks right on the doorstep. Cate & Ian were super welcoming, friendly & helpful whenever we required something. Will definitely be returning.

Fiona and Nigel created a beautiful space to stay for anyone who wants a peaceful getaway! I proposed to my now fiancé here and Fiona helped to give this place a romantic setup while we were out for food. She did a brilliant job! Thank you for having us, we will definitely be back again!

We had the best time staying in Shep - such quirky accommodation, with everything you could need. The kids especially loved the raised sleeping area and bathroom set up! The views were spectacular, it was so peaceful and we just felt really relaxed. Thoroughly enjoyed BBQing with the Eildon Hills for a view. Chris and family were super welcoming and we really enjoyed exploring the farm. Thanks for having us - we can’t wait to visit again!

The place is soooooo beautiful. If you need some relax and a beautiful view, you need to stay here. I didn’t want to leave.

Deborah and Peter were responsible to questions and very flexible. They allowed us a BBQ and also advised we did not need to rush to check out. We were at a wedding evening do close by, and they made local recommendations for taxis. It is a beautiful and well maintained hut. Fresh coffee, milk and eggs provided. It was a bit bright in the morning so my husband couldn't sleep in (doesn't bother me!) but otherwise all fantastic. Very responsive and welcoming, but also left to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Would return and definitely recommend.
