Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Torridge District

My boyfriend and I visited with two friends, so we booked the entire barn. Helen was there to meet us when we arrived and offered us a tea and coffee with biscuits. We found the barn to be spotlessly clean. The soft furnishings and interior design were lovely quality and comfortable. The beds are lovely and comfortable. The quality and choice of breakfast was amazing and they catered for a vegetarian and gluten free. Helen was a great host who couldn't do enough for us. The grounds are pretty and peaceful with lovely views of the Countryside. The photos dont do this place justice. We really couldnt rate this place highly enough. Thanks Jen

We had a truly wonderful experience staying at Stonelands. Christine was incredibly generous and kind—she upgraded our booking to an entire house at no extra charge, which was such a lovely surprise. After spending a few days in hotel rooms, staying in this cosy house felt like a breath of fresh air. It was spacious, comfortable, and made us feel completely at home. Each evening, our host thoughtfully set the breakfast table, and in the morning we enjoyed a delicious, homemade breakfast that made our days start on such a positive note. She also gave us fantastic recommendations for local cafés, restaurants, and tourist spots, which really helped us make the most of our stay. This stay was one of the highlights of our trip, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and home-like experience.

Lizzie was a lovely host - very friendly and welcoming. The room had everything we needed, although small, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. A great location - right on the waterside in Dartmouth - and breakfast was excellent.

Belinda was very helpful about me needing to check in a bit early, very accommodating with my little dog, and also very welcoming and a lovely host. Breakfast was delicious - lovely granola with blueberries and yoghurt, perfect. She recommended various supper options and I tried the Cott Inn - fabulous food (I had the pea, shallot and sage tortelloni) and also dog friendly. I was visiting Totnes in order to go on a tour of the Agroforestry Research Trust which is a pioneering forest garden full of interesting edibles grown without needing much maintenance - ideal for growing healthy food at home alongside a busy lifestyle. The tour was great - and Belinda’s home was only a 15 min walk away, so it all worked out very well.

Katie was very friendly and the view out of our window over the fields of sheep and cows was lovely. A very rural and secluded location, but within minutes of Ashburton. We will definitely stay at Katie‘s place next time we are in in Devon.

Beautiful, clean property and very friendly and helpful hosts

Stayed with Nicky and Si for a couple of days in Swimbridge and I think the most tranquil AirBnB I’ve stayed at yet! Breakfasts were continental and lots of choice, and Nicky was great in responding quickly to queries on check in and the room. The room was clean and well put together overlooking a great view of the church.

We had a wonderful stay at John and Di's little cottage. Charming place, less than a mile from Port Isaac. We didn't have a car, but it was an easy walk into town. Having a car might have been a good idea. John was very kind to give us a ride into town sometimes and he came to pick us up twice. He also drove us to Bodmin to catch a train when it was time to go. His charge for that was much less than a taxi. The best thing about this stay was John and Di's connection to the town. They had lots of stories to tell about Port Isaac and Doc Martin and so on. Really delightful people. And Di made us probably the best breakfasts we had on the whole trip! Not too many BnB's actually offer breakfast anymore, so this was a big big plus.

Lovely peaceful location, comfortable and clean accommodation and located just a short walk down the hill to Polperro, which has great pubs, walks and beaches. Also, a fabulous breakfast included.

Beautiful location. Perfect for exploring the Tors. Your hosts will be fabulous storytellers. Good breakfast and tea making facilities.

Claire and Ben's accommodation is spotless, quiet and very cosy. It might be tricky to find if you don't follow their detailed instructions, which are very clear and laid out in easy steps. This place had everything I needed and more. Truro just down the road with easy park and ride. I had a lovely stay - my only regret I wasn't there long enough. would definitely recommend.

Ellen and Terry are lovely people, we had very clear directions find them and instructions where to park etc, they met us at the door and showed us our room and facilities, gave us a few suggestions of places we could eat, visit and see in the area. Also, invited us to use their garden or bring back a take away - we did sit in the garden, lovely to listen to the babbling stream and chirping birds, it was so relaxing. We were treated to a good cooked breakfast each morning and some hints on the places we planned to visit, like taking the ferry from Rock to Padstow, so we had some experiences we would not have known about by ourselves, so loved that we saw different aspects of Cornwall than we'd expected. We would love to visit again.

A beautiful home in a lovely village setting. Comfortable, cottage feel to Judes house. A relaxed, friendly stay with 2 great pubs nearby offering excellent food. A wholesome breakfast each morning to set you up for the day. 😁

It was a absolute pleasure to stay with Sarah, she is a wonderful host and the cooked breakfast was amazing as too the fruits, yogurt and cereals. The rugged beauty of the surrounds with farmhouse overlooking the sea made for a very special visit Highly recommend to other guests wishing to visit this stunning rural and sea retreat

We had a lovely stay in Wendy's home whilst visiting Exeter University. Wendy's house is in a perfect location- easily walkable into the city centre and to Exeter St David's. Also only a few minutes walk from Streatham campus. Wendy was very welcoming, the room was pristine and there was a good choice of cereals and hot drinks for breakfast. Thanks, Wendy!

Great two night stay! Nicola was really friendly and gave some great local recommendations and the gorgeous Bess (the dog) was a bonus. Went out of her way to help us and ensure we had an enjoyable stay.

Beverley and her husband Ian was so friendly and welcoming. The room was perfectly clean and exactly what I needed. They made me feel right at home, letting me freely use their kitchen and bathroom. She even let me help out in their beautiful garden! The house is right next to the station and only 10 minutes walk to Totnes main street. Perfect location for me to explore Totnes and surrounding areas. They were so accommodating as they let me store my luggage on the day of checkout as there were no-one else booked in that day. I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking of staying in Totnes!

I had a lovely stay at Rita's place. It's a fantastic spot and Rita and Eric are wonderful and very friendly hosts. the room itself is spotless and very homely. the breakfast was delicious. Rita even dropped me off in Plymouth the next morning. couldn't have asked for more. would definitely recommend.

I arrived tired after driving through lashing rain. I was made to feel immensely welcome. Everything was very fine indeed and Rachel had put a lot of thought into providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Had two amazing days in Charlestown at Susan's place! Everything was clean, Susan provided us will all essentials and more, was a very welcoming host. Would absolutely recommend!

If you are looking for a place to stay where you are made to feel welcome, one where you can come and go as you need to, this is where I recommend you stay. I had a week of being totally looked after from coffee being made for me, fresh strawberries from the garden with breakfast i so recommend you have the cook breakfast, delicious!! I had a great time learning all about the chickens & seeing one day old chicks. I got to see & learn about their home grown fruit & veg. I will always remember how welcome I was made to feel in someones home I didn’t know. They are the warmest, kindest, friendliest & caring two people. I would absolutely stay again. Another guest came every year to see family & would always stay with Suzie & Steve - You will understand why! Thank you Suzie & Steve for making a stressful time so much easier. I think you are both wonderful & if I am ever in the area again I will be over to stay for so many reasons, one being your delicious breakfast - Thank you!!

If you're looking for a good value place to crash in the Truro area, I doubt you'll find much better than this. Friendly, helpful and communicative host who clearly set expectations, and who was very helpful in suggesting places to visit while holidaying in Cornwall. Location is 15-20 minutes walk from Truro city centre, and the room provides a good view of the wooded area behind the house. Would use again.

Well what can I say...an absolute gem of a find. Upon arrival Lesley was tending to her garden which is simply beautiful. Lesley was super friendly. I quickly settled in my room (I'd had an unexpected upgrade to a double room with a bath) which was much appreciated. Upon my return from supper out at Hewas Inn, I met Tony who offered to carry my bag. I slept so well in a super comfy bed. Plus continental breakfast options were lovely. I shall definitely return, next time to Pleasant Streams campsite with my husband and little boy. Thanks for short but sweet stay Lesley & Tony. Best, Steph
