For a truly peaceful and lovely Alaskan retreat that is just about a 20 minute drive from Anchorage - this is the place to stay. The gardens and surrounding mountains with the nearby Bird Creek provides a wonderful setting. Joan is a wonderful host - especially if you are curious and interested in the various ways people live and thrive in Alaska.

This place is a dream! We immediately regretted not booking more than one night. If we come back, this is definitely where we would stay. Stunning views right from the window and a lovely yard. Simply incredible!

Wonderful place to stay, absolutely perfect for 2 people. Kitchen had everything we could need for our stay (even sandwich bags for packing lunch)!

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. The furniture and beds were all very comfortable. The house was spotless and the host had provided everything you need plus some extra touches like flavored syrup for coffee and lots of options for coffee type and how you want to brew it. The view off the back deck is gorgeous. We were sad to only be staying one night.
