Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Alajuela Province

It was the second time we stayed at Bertha’s place. It is a nature lovers dream and there is much to see on the grounds including birds, monkeys, and other wildlife. The town of Bijagua is easily drivable for restaurants along with other parks in the area! We would stay again in the future. Highly recommended!!

Wonderful view, inside and out. Jonathan lives right next door and was very accessible, super helpful and friendly. We were able to observe some great birds in the back of the garden. The place was super clean, kitchen was sufficiently equipped. With a 4x4 you can get up the last short driveway well, without you should park downstairs (space is there). We would have liked to have stayed longer and would definitely come back.

This is our second time staying at Casa Gisela, we love this home and neighborhood so much.

We had an amazing time. The place is a short drive from La fortuna falls and walkable distance from the river. About 25mins drive to get to Arenal. Easy to find and has parking right out the door. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive away. Camilo was also very kind and gave us great local recommendations and helped us plan to make most of our time. Would definitely recommend.

The listing photos of this home do no justice to the absolute stunning location. Clear views of the arenal volcano from the backyard. We will absolutely be back time and time again. Stunning!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flower’s Paradise. Jarvey and Flor were gracious hosts, providing a tour of their family’s property, introducing my children to Max the Dog, sharing restaurant and activity recommendations and even offering to book activities for us. Jarvey shared small gifts each day - Costa Rican coffee, Flor’s delicious bread, fresh mora berries from Jarvey’s mora bush. These sweet surprises made us feel so special and cared for. We saw hummingbirds and agouti daily. We loved watching the clouds roll in and the afternoon rain from the covered balcony This home truly is paradise! Note: as others have mentioned, this view requires a drive up a steep hill. I appreciated having a 4x4 vehicle.

Finca Totoro is jaw dropping!! The pictures show everything but once you pull in, your eyes will pop and youll find yourself saying “oh my god!” Its stunning. Gorgeous layout, gorgeous views, private pool, private jacuzzi, hiking trails, absolutely amazing. I cannot say it enough, this place is a perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, music, your loved one, its super special. The pictures on airbnb do not do Finca Totoro justice. Its remarkable.

We had an amazing stay! The house is close to town but quiet at night. Beautifully organized and we had everything we needed. Very relaxing.

Stayed there for 1 night - was really nice!

The place was beautiful, and although the pictures looked great, in person it is much more. The area is very quiet and the amenities of the suite are very useful and enjoyable, in addition to the fact that there are very good restaurants around (I highly recommend the nearby pizza restaurant), the only aspect is that perhaps the gates require more oil to go up or higher faster, but it did not affect the stay at all. Highly recommended and I would definitely go back.

Perfect accommodation for arrival/departure, about 5 minutes by Uber to the airport. The apartment has everything you need, we were very satisfied.

This Airbnb was the perfect peaceful escape. Cozy and surrounded by lush greenery, we fell asleep each night to the sound of rain, birds, and a flowing stream behind the house. The outdoor jacuzzi worked great and was the perfect way to unwind. We especially loved the netted lounge area, it felt like floating in the trees while watching birds and wildlife pass through. We also felt very safe during our stay. The extra security measures in place that gave us peace of mind without disrupting the natural, relaxed vibe. Just down the road, the organic restaurant Harmony was a gem. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. We’d absolutely return.

Vera was recommended to us by our relocation team, whom we have hired to help us move. She has been in Costa Rica a long time and gave us some incredible advice and went out of her way to make us feel right at home 🏡

We stayed the night after getting into SJO very late and needing to pick up the other half of our group from the airport in the morning. It was VERY close to the airport (maybe 7 minute drive). Navigating in Costa Rica is always an adventure but Eliseo made it easy. The apartment was very clean and as described. It was the perfect place to get some sleep and clean up after a long night of travel. Easy check in late at night with a lockbox and key code.

We stayed at Carolina’s for one day before we were flying out of SJO. It was 4 of us and it was perfect for us. It was clean, its in a gated area so it felt safe too. There is a city mall near by so we went there to explore that area too. Carolina was such a nice host. Her communication was fast and clear.

The place was exactly what it was advertised. Me and my family had a good and comfortable stay. The beds were also very comfortable. It is very close to the airport and the City Mall which had a big food court with many options for reasonable prices if you’re trying to save a little. Me and my family had a great stay.

We had a great stay, and we will probably want to stay again! The rooms were very comfortable, everyone was very nice and helpful. We really appreciated that each room had AC. The area is nice and quiet but super close to the mall which was very convenient. 10/10

Neibeth's place is beautiful, as described in the photos. The location is amazing, walking distance to the supermarket and the shopping center. Minutes from the airport. The building is very well cleaned, and the grounds are amenable. The apartment is beautiful inside and has everything you need for a stay. The beds are very comfortable, and having two bathrooms was a plus. The location is less than an hour from the Poas volcano and Hacienda Starbucks. Although it is about 2.5 hours to La Fortuna, I would rather stay here than up there. Neibeth was always responsive, and the check-in process was super easy.

Great place and amenities. My favourite was the huge balcony with the view of the clouds and hills. There’s a supermarket next door, makes stocking up on essentials very easy. There’s weekly cleaning too, so extremely convenient for long stays,

It's a great place to stay at, however, what we missed was hot water at the kitchen and bathroom sinks. otherwise all good, we'd recommend it.
