Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Northern California

This space is really an experience in itself. Charming, peaceful, great view, and just a break from the cookie cutter rentals. Unique and very human-centered. Lots of comfortable and interesting touches. Hosts were communicative and helpful. Our teen boys didn't want to leave to go explore the city! Recommend.

What a beautiful and relaxing short stay we had at Sea Otter Cottage! From soaking in the soothing hot tub to playing in the charming garden, every moment was delightful. Our 5-year-old loved exploring the lovely surroundings, the toys in the house and we truly felt at home in this cozy, welcoming house. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful space with us—we will cherish the memories made here and hope to return at some point!

The Caboose was the best! Super easy check in and the place had wood built in the fire pit, a s’mores kit ready, snacks, wine, and even our name on the board. We felt at home immediately. Also although our hosts were out of town, the locals were so kind and checked in on us multiple times. Our kids loved the space and enjoyed the ground immensely and we slept like babies. Highly recommend the caboose to others and hope we can stay again!!

We enjoyed our stay and the peaceful surroundings of the location. It was the perfect location for an anniversary party we attended in Aptos.

Our stay was amazing, the house is so magical and we will remember our experience there forever. Skate and Jeannie were lovely hosts always made us feel at home and were always very attentive to any needs. Thank you! Hope to come stay again in the future !

Susan and Dave were gracious hosts. They greeted us warmly upon our arrival, helping us to feel at home. Susan has thoughtfully attended to every detail, there is nothing we were in need of during our stay. Their hospitality extended to a continental breakfast to get our day started. The sitting area at the river's bank is so serene. We enjoyed napping in the hammock and reading a book after a day of running up and down the coast. We are very picky about mattresses, and found the bed very comfortable. We left a couple of items behind, which Susan and Dave were very kind to mail to us. Thank you Susan and Dave for adding to what was a spectacular vacation.

Marie's place was just what I needed - a quiet place to get a good night's sleep in the middle of long travel days. It would be a comfortable place to stay more than one night - a perfect hub for Alexander Valley adventures.

My stay with Emily was excellent. The proximity to UC Berkeley and various stores makes the room a very good accommodation for visiting scholars (and others working at the university). I also got to know Emily's son and her dog, everyone made me feel at home from the beginning, even though I was far away (from Germany). I can only recommend Emily's place :-)

Bill was our host while we stayed and he was wonderful. Everything looked even more beautiful in person. They had a breakfast bar in the morning and it had so many great options, something for everybody. Thank you for the lovely stay!

The private space is a lovely, clean and comfortable bedroom with a private bathroom. Diane is friendly and gracious, offering wine in the evening and great coffee in the morning. It is truly a room within a lived in, cluttered but artsy home.

I came to stay with my 10 y/o son, to visit Yosemite. And it was such an experience to stay with the two. It felt like coming home. The amazing breakfasts, great conversations and a quiet big room with a comfortable bed offering a deep rest. My son felt so home and moved freely in / outside of the house to see all the animals. I am grateful to have stayed with the two. Highly recommended.

One of the best airbnb stays I've ever had. Hosts were super friendly, communicative, and helpful. I stayed in the Hideaway room, which was incredibly cozy and the bed was so comfortable. I ended up spending a lot of time soaking up the sun in the beautiful back yard. Also, the availability of food and laundry was SO appreciated! Staying here helped make a short trip so much less frantic and expensive than it could've been. I truly can't wait to stay there again.

Grandma Patree welcomed me with open arms and had fresh baked bread and cookies for me when I arrived. She also had pleasant animals all around the house and it was such a perfect place to stay in crescent city! Thank you so much!

Fantastic spot to stay in Healdsburg! Breakfast and early morning coffee were exceptional as well.

The place looked just like the photos! It was clean and neatly set up. We checked in pretty late, but Emilie was really helpful and made everything easy. We didn’t get a chance to use it, but there was a small play area outside that would be great for kids.

Perfect for my wife, daughter and I. VERY comfy master bed (adjustable). Quiet location. No full kitchen (as we knew) but had fresh muffins out for us and a well-stocked coffee bar which we appreciated. Will likely use again when visiting family in Merced.

Our visit was like Heaven on Earth! Incredibly peaceful, tranquil, and quiet. It was the perfect getaway as being surrounded by the gorgeous nature landscapes and rustic, cottagecore aesthetic ended up being such a therapeutic and rejuvenating experience! Not to mention the hospitality and the food were exceptionally amazing! We loved everything about our stay and can’t wait to return!

This room was perfect! Clean, smelled nice, had a coffee bar with instant oatmeal, fresh bananas and a little Madeline cookie. This was a really nice touch and we appreciated it! They also had water bottles which was great since Reno water smelled like chlorine. The bed was very comfortable and not too hard. The closet was good sized with hangers. There is an iron and ironing board as well. This room has a nice shower/tub, its own toilet and sink. There were clean towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Way to go Roman and Marie, your place was excellent! Looking forward to coming again. :)

For a same day reservation, the listing was accommodating & peaceful for a long drive. The host was super communicative & proactive; he sent clear instructions both email & by text. Upon arrival, the place was warm & cozy. Extra sheets & towels were provided for my pets. I used the jacuzzi with the fireplace on - what a morning joy! A delicious breakfast was included, and the presentation was superb & was at a perfect time. The view of the place in the morning sun with the trees in the background was relaxing & calming. Definitely a must if you are visiting Shasta area!

Super nice hosts, communicated very well and were welcoming and friendly. Made us feel at home. We ended up having to check in later than expected and there was no issue. The rooms were very clean and family friendly, the main room was way bigger than it seems to look in pictures which is a plus! And the main bed is so comfortable, after a long day that bed was heavenly! Due to traveling we had to leave very early so we didn’t get to see much of the area around the house, but the host did give us recommendations on cool places within our travel path. Overall a great experience and if we were local we would definitely book again!

Amazing location for accessing Yosemite coupled with the beautiful property itself. The Glacier room is on the far end of the property and feels most private, it also has a outdoor globe that would be lovely to relax in(we didn’t as it was very warm out). The bed is the comfiest we’ve ever had in an Air BnB. Takes about 30 mins to drive to El Portal, and another 30 to get to Curry Village. We left very early to access the park so the breakfast that was prepared by Horizon in advance was a great touch, and very welcome. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for accommodation to either access Yosemite, or for just a place to unwind and relax
