The house was absolutely beautiful. Walking in, it looks just like the pictures portray it. Everything was clean and organized. The game room is a nice touch as we enjoyed the many games of pool. Anna and her team were not only always responsive but did so in such a timely manner, which is truly appreciated. There is no doubt in my mind that I would stay here again or any of their other properties in the future.

We had a wonderful stay! The interior of the house is beautifully designed—stylish, cozy, and thoughtfully put together. Every detail felt well-curated, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The home is impressively well-equipped, making it easy and comfortable to settle in right away. One of the things that truly stood out was how immaculately clean the house was—not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere, even in the corners or under furniture. It felt incredibly fresh and well cared for. Whenever we had a question or needed assistance, the hosts responded quickly and kindly. Their warm hospitality made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and seamless stay.

White Casita, Twins Resort of Joshua Tree

TiagoRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Place is fantastic to spend some time out in Joshua Tree. EV charger helped a ton; views to die for, Road Runners and wild Rabbits on the property were cool to see :) Pool is great, and so is the house, overall. Some blinds/curtains would be helpful during sunset in the Kitchen/Living Room, appliances could use some love to match the rest of the house. The gas fire pit is nice but the placement isn't ideal - in the desert wind blows hard at times and for us, it was unusable during the time we were there since the wind was not allowing it to keep lit. Really good, regardless, maybe a tad over priced, but definitely had a good time.

Secluded Garden Villa: Pool~Spa~Views~BBQ~Location

KateRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a great stay at this house! Our three favorite parts - the awesome views (even better in person), the beautiful pool/hot tub (which was always very clean), and getting to love on Bella (their super sweet dog). Stephen communicates very well. They gave us all the privacy we needed. The house was a perfect size for our family (brought our two kids) and the extra long patio was great. A few areas in the house could use updates (example: the shower knobs are difficult to turn) but it was all clean, which I strongly appreciate. The views, pool, and Bella made our trip amazing for sure! Thank you Stephen and Pim.

The Midnight Sun House + Pool Joshua Tree

MollyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay! The pool was perfect and we relaxed during the day while it was too hot to hike in Joshua Tree National Park. The desert views from the pool area in the backyard were incredible and made us feel like we were still in the national park. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. The indoor/outdoor cactus planter by the front door was my favorite part. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

6 acre Ocean Bluff Cottage -Dog friendly & EV

BethanyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Gorgeous location and the home was very comfortable. The ocean view, and hot tub and fire pit overlooking the ocean, were a dream come true. The beds were so comfortable and there were plenty of towels and blankets provided which was a really nice touch. The house was small for our family of four but the comfort, ocean view, and tons of outdoor space more than made up for it. The kitchen was small but well-stocked for cooking basic meals. Eva was a fantastic host, super hospitable and proactive and friendly. Can’t wait to come back.

This cottage was absolutely beautiful, from the views to the quiet sound of being surrounded by nature. Almost like being in a perfectly panoramic dream with the ocean and the gorgeous sunsets and clear starry night skies. I also highly recommend TreeBones and their sushi chefs, who are conveniently located minutes away. The on-site host was kind enough to give us space, check in to see if we needed help with anything but also let us play with their puppy. Will have to visit again!

Sunny cottage, ocean views, private beach access

EliseRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at Hayley’s place. The cabin is actually more spacious than the photos demonstrate, yet it was exceptionally cozy. We had everything we needed. We ended up eating dinner at Cove Azul Bar and Grill in Gualala, which was recommended by Hayley. The food was delicious, the service friendly, and the prices very fair. We were a little surprised that we had to drive to get to the private beach access, but that is my only complaint. It’s close enough to walk to, but you are risking injury/death with no shoulder on the road to walk to.

CraigRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Weeklong getaway from the normal at home and work grind. Very relaxing, peaceful, and a beautiful location. Sitting outside in the afternoon sun with a cool onshore breeze rustling the trees was terrific. All of the amenities provided were exactly what you need, whether cooking and “living” there, or just a base camp from which to adventure. Bed was comfy, as were the various seating options. Diane and Bob were available as needed, but definitely not hovering. We enjoyed several conversations about the property, and local activities, otherwise we enjoyed the solitude offered.

We loved our time in the cabin! Perfect location and sweet and special home base! Was so nice to have the option to stay home, walk down to the beach or just around the very lovely neighborhood, or take a short drive into Guerneville or up or down the coast to other nearby towns. Fun exploring, cozy nesting, would come back in a heartbeat.

Garrett’s Lookout

GeoffreyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had an unforgettable experience at The Lookout in Stallion Springs, CA — the perfect spot to celebrate our 11-year anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the peace and beauty of the property took our breath away. The panoramic views were incredible — sunrise and sunset felt like nature’s private show, with colors we’ll never forget. The property is beautifully maintained, and Blair and his wife were such gracious and welcoming hosts. They encouraged us to explore the grounds, and we loved meeting their beautiful horses! It was a joy chatting with Blair about his amazing landscaping work. The water feature out front is a true work of art — so calming. On his recommendation, we visited P Dubs Bar & Grille and absolutely loved it — great food and atmosphere. Wildlife was everywhere — we saw wild boar, elk, and deer, which added to the magic. The setting was peaceful and serene — a true escape. Everything about our stay was perfect. Highly, Highly recommend this spot! 10/10

I have stayed in a million Airbnbs over the years and this was by far the best experience I have ever had. The house was impeccable, pristine and so beautiful. The view is incredible. Sitting on the patio at night and watching the sunset or sitting in the hot tub under the stars was the best part of everyday. However, as incredible as the house was, April and her team were the real stars. They were so responsive to all of our questions and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay. I have never had such a responsive and caring host. I will be dreaming of coming back here as soon as I can! Book it, you will be so glad you did!

Your guide to California

All About California

As the third largest state in America and home to a number of famous sites, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Hollywood, and breathtaking Highway 1 coastline, California has a lot to offer.

In Southern California, Los Angeles is a mix of beach and city living, with world-class international cuisine spread throughout its many neighborhoods, legendary surf spots along its coastline, and hiking in canyons that offer stunning views of the glittering Downtown Los Angeles skyline. Day trips from this sprawling megatropolis bring you into the midcentury design hub of Palm Springs, or the desert landscapes of Joshua Tree National Park.

Up north, San Francisco is a compact city with rolling hills that make driving around or riding its famous cable cars feel like being in a slow-moving roller coaster. The prize for walking to the tops of its many neighborhood parks include views of the Bay Bridge and the iconic orange Golden Gate Bridge, as well as Golden Gate Park, which houses a number of notable museums. The city has a rich history of attracting artists, writers, musicians, who continue to make their marks in San Francisco concerts halls, dive bars, galleries, and museums.

Away from these big metropolises, Santa Cruz and Big Sur draw people to their dramatic Redwood-lined coastlines while Napa Valley and Sonoma bring wine lovers from around the world into town. Yosemite National Park, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, is a haven for hiking, rafting, and rock climbing.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in California

Depending on where you’re traveling, you could experience all four seasons or remain in the fog for your entire trip. Generally Los Angeles is dry and arid, with occasional heat waves in the summer, while San Francisco experiences a marine layer of fog that remains even through the summer (if you’re visiting San Francisco, always bring layers for the fog and the wind). Snow comes to the state’s mountain ranges in the winter, bringing cross-country and downhill enthusiasts to ski hubs like Mammoth, Lake Tahoe, and Big Bear.

Top things to do in California

San Diego

When it comes to Southern California beaches, San Diego has some of the best opportunities to swim and surf, with notably warm water and air temperatures year-round, great surf breaks, and plenty of outfitters offering gear and lessons. Back on land, San Diego’s iconic Balboa Park houses 17 museums as well as numerous historic and cultural attractions across 1,200 acres. Beer connoisseurs know the city as one of the country’s epicenters of craft breweries.

Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, is known for its epic waterfalls; wildlife sightings of marmots, bobcats, and dozens of species of butterflies; and scenic trails winding to lookouts like Glacier Point. Catch a glimpse of El Capitan, one of the park’s highest peaks, and gaze in wonder at the breathtaking Bridalveil Falls, which are at their best in spring.

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe carries the prize of being the largest alpine lake in North America, and it’s one of the most iconic natural attractions in California. Its crystal clear waters make it seem like you could almost stare straight down to the bottom of its 1,645 feet. Come here to swim, hike or ride bikes along the paths that line the lake’s exterior, and in the winter, ski the slopes and Nordic trails nearby.
