Cottage vacation rentals in California

The home really felt like a home, and the icing on the cake was the hot tub soak each morning and night. The waterfall hike a mile from their home is incredible, so if you don't feel like another long day in Yosemite, enjoy the local waterfall which was incredible. I forgot its name, but Google waterfalls near me and it comes up. It's a close-ish drive to the Yosemite park entrance, but then you still have a bit of a drive once in the park. We didn't mind, but make sure to get to the entrance earlier than 10 to avoid a long line of traffic. Michelle and Rohin were very communicative and it was a home from home experience.

It was a beautiful area and a very cute place to stay. However, we were not aware of how close the main house was to the cottage.

Randy’s ranch-style guest house is close proximity to numerous wineries and is a wonderful option for a romantic weekend.

We really really like this place. Time moves slower, and it feels very restorative, even if it’s just a weekend. Will easily go again.

Sarah was the perfect host and made our stay super easy. The property and the neighbourhood exceeded our expectations and made for the perfect time spent in Guerneville. We look forward to staying there again in the near future.

Our family of three had a wonderful time at Riverwood! We appreciated the thoughtful touches -tea kettle, garlic press, as well as books and guides to local history, flora and fauna. The home was clean and comfortable, and the grounds were enchanting! Buttercups bloomed along the path to the river, and the redwood trees towered overhead. The back porch offered a gorgeous view and vantage point to enjoy the birds and wildlife! Don't forget your binoculars! While it was foggy during our springtime stay, the hot tub, claw foot bathtub and fireplace kept us cozy. Town, river beaches, Armstrong Redwoods state park and Jenner by the Sea are all easily accessible from the property's location. Riverwood was a very peaceful and beautiful place to be! Sangeeta was a communicative and attentive host. We had a seamless stay, and no problem finding the property. Communication and directions were all very clear and detailed. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Nancy’s place was perfect for us for our week+ stay while visiting family in the area. The house was immaculate and well stocked with everything that we needed. Nancy was quick to respond to any questions we had. We loved the neighborhood as we are big walkers and the neighborhood streets and the preserve trail right at the end of the road were great for exercise. It was a bit of a cool week while we were in SoCal so the heater/fireplace was a welcome plus for keeping us comfortable. As a tea drinker, I was happy to have an electric tea kettle available while my husband enjoyed the keurig machine and the supply of k-cups Nancy provided. We would certainly stay again.

Lauren’s cottage is exceptionally clean and comfortable and in a perfect location between town and a lovely park. The hot tub with a view of Mt Shasta was a highlight of my stay. Lauren is a lovely host and very responsive.

Cute beach cottage with a fantastic location! Just a couple blocks from the beach, but very quiet and no noise issues. We arrived on a Tuesday, and there happens to be a really nice farmers’ market that was just a half block from the house. Excellent communication from the host at every step of the way!

We loved every minute of our stay in #23. Right next to the beach, open windows, blue sky, ocean breeze, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of waves, perfect beds, bright, clean, cozy… We slept so deeply! Ate great food nearby, walked, read, napped, sat in the sun… So healing and restful. Perfect. 10/10.

This was the perfect spot for our family! It is in an amazing area that is walking distance from the beach, pier, and a ton of restaurants. The house was amazing and perfect for our small family with great amenities and a perfect front patio to enjoy the weather. If you are a light sleeper or have tiny ones, there is some evening noise from bars/restaurants late at night but it did not impact us or our kids at all. (They slept rightly through it with ease) The home is extremely clean, nice and open inside, and check-in/check-out was extremely easy. 10/10!

Leah's place is beautifully situated near the beach, downtown and the Amtrak station. We arrived by train and did not have a car. The beach and restaurants in town all walkable! The cottage is comfortable and quiet. Leah is a very friendly and responsive host. We will certainly stay here when we come back to Carpenteria!

The beachside cottage was truly that! Front door opens up to the beach and the Dutch door was a nice touch. Not only can you see and hear the waves from the bedroom and living room but both the side yard and side patio were perfect to relax and watch the waves and surfers. The cottage was extremely clean, and smelled great, which I imagine is hard to maintain for a beachside cottage. Ilan left beer and water in the fridge to start my stay off nicely. His instructions were extremely thorough and helpful for a smooth check in. When I visit OB, I know where I am staying from now on!

Wonderful stay in OB at Catrina’s house. Walking distance to everything you need, home had everything we needed for our stay. Catrina was in touch making sure we had everything we need, would stay again without a second thought.

Perfect location!! Perfect space for our small family.

Jennifer’s cottage was perfect location to walk to the ocean and spend our days exploring the redwoods. The accommodations were clean and functional. We traveled with our 5 month old and our dog - the cottage was large enough to easily accommodate her pack n play and our pup had a fenced in yard. I’d recommend this stay especially if you are exploring the redwoods as it was a calm place to rest our heads each night, sit by the fire, and play a few board games. Jennifer was very responsive, friendly, and helpful!

Annie was a great host and the place was exactly as described and just what we needed for a relaxing beach getaway. We loved the hot tub in the backyard and the beach cottage feel of the place. Thank you for hosting us!

We absolutely love this cabin. My father in law lives in the area and we love staying here when we come up for a visit. Marina is an amazing person and host. The cabin is clean and the beds are very comfortable. You can walk the property and see amazing views of the surrounding mountains, enjoy the wildlife, take in the fresh air as you sit in multiple areas set up around the property to just sit and relax. The inside of the cabin is clean, full of fluffy blankets and pillows to relax and read a book with. The kitchen is fully stocked with spices, oils, coffee, teas and everything you need to cook meals or enjoy a BBQ (just bring your own food) if you plan to stay a longer duration there is a full size fridge and every dish needed to feel like you are at home. We just keep coming back to this cabin because it’s so peaceful and just a perfect place to just relax.

Is it fancy? No. But it is reasonably priced, in a convenient location, has a great hot tub, and a wonderful host.

Pebble Beach Surf Cottage was a very quaint and cozy home to stay at, it was a very short walk to the beach, we were able to watch a gorgeous sunset while drinking a cup of coffee to take the chill off of us The house has a stocked keurig, nice stove and oven, full size refrig. All utensils, cookware and accessories for cooking. 3 bedrooms with a queen bed each, very comfy blankets, nice pillows and extra blankets and sheets for a pull out sofa bed, and room with a set of bunkbeds. The bathroom was well supplied with towels, washclothes plenty of TP. There was soap shampoo and conditioner, which was an extra bonus, 3 of us showered we never ran out of hot water! Yay! The décor definitely gives you the beach vibe. Brian, a very gracious host allowed us to check in 2 hours early as well. I highly recommend this Cottage it seems small from the outside, but once inside more than plenty enough room for 4 adults. Definitely a 5 star stay!!!

Cute little cottage feel. Loved that it was a close walk to downtown. Love loved the creek and pretty yard! It is close to the highway so it can be kinda loud when sitting outside but not too bad.

We have stayed with Lisa multiple times in the past year. It’s like a home away from home. Very easy to get to and convenient to visiting friends and family. Very quiet neighborhood and cozy place inside.

Valerie was a gracious host and the home was very comfortable and well appointed for our family of four. As our first time in Dillon Beach, we could not have booked a better location and home to stay in. Everything was clean and beautiful throughout, with furnishings and details all perfected. We look forward to staying again.
