Mid week summer deals! Steps to Lake & GarWoods!

JennyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had such a great stay here with family and friends over the weekend! The cabin was beautiful, in a great location, and the host was super friendly and responsive. One thing that really stood out was how well-stocked everything was, which isn’t something we’ve typically seen at other Airbnbs. The kitchen had everything we needed, from pots and pans to coffee machines, spices, and seasonings, which was perfect since we did a lot of cooking. Just a heads-up if you’re a coffee person: they provide the machines but not the coffee, so be sure to bring your own! The place was also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus. We loved that there were tons of games, activities, and even outdoor gear to keep everyone entertained. You can tell the host really cares about the guest experience, and we’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Claire was always responsive and kind. The cabin was amazing for our family's Christmas trip. Beautiful surroundings and view! Kitchen accommodated cooking a full Christmas dinner, the dining area was perfect for family puzzles and board games, and the ping pong and foosball were a hit with everyone. A Christmas we are sure to cherish forever.

Cindy place was amazing! It’s located right next to the Hyatt which we did not take advance of (but wish we did)! It was very easy to get to Mt. Rose to ski every day. The place was very clean, and it had cable tv. We totally want to come back here next year for New Years and hope they will host us again!

JaniceRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Glass House! It was just as beautiful as the pictures promised! The amenities were fantastic, and we particularly loved the hot tub and sauna, which provided the perfect way to unwind after a day on the slopes. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the chef's kitchen was a fantastic bonus for preparing meals. Communication with our host was quick and convenient, making the check-in process seamless. This home is ideal for a ski weekend, offering plenty of entertainment and relaxation options right within the house. We would absolutely love to come back and rent this spot again in the future!

Cozy cabin: short stroll to beach and restaurants!

DonnaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We, a couple with 2 pups, had a relaxing trip to Kings Beach in Tahoe. Donna and Toby’s cabin had everything (and more) you’d need. In fact, until now, I’d never stayed in a rental that was as well stocked as this home. There were zip lock bags, foil, oil, coffee, I could go on but you get the idea. Restaurants within walking distance to home base. We ordered take away meals and enjoyed them in the cabin since the weather was too cold to sit outside with our dogs. In fact, it snowed our first night which was magical and beautiful to wake up to the next morning. Appreciated the fenced yard for the dogs to sniff around. The beach and walking path was a quick few minutes walk away. Sweet little cabin. We’d definitely stay here again.

Dog Friendly Beadle Cabin Near Lake Beach & Dining

PhilRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Chris let us check in early. That was much appreciated. We did not realize we could walk across the street to Gar Woods.. a restaurant we frequent when we visit Tahoe. The place was clean and matched the photos. We used all 4 bedrooms for our 3 families and enjoyed spending time together. We lucked out on both weather and traffic.

Charming cabin fenced yard & private hot tub pet

JulieRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a great stay at Marci’s house. Everything was as described. The location is great-so close to the lake & a short drive to Truckee, North Star etc. The beds were comfy & all appliances were very new. The big back yard was great & we enjoyed the gas fireplace. The only negative is the hot tub is in the backyard so a bit of a walk through the snow to get to it in the winter. Not a deal breaker but just something to note. Would stay again.

Spring Deals! Walk to beach, Hot Tub!

ClaudeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Very spacious house, conveniently located close to Lake Blvd, providing a short drive to Kings Beach, Northstar, Tahoe City, and the Alpine and Palisades resorts. The house is quite spacious, with plenty of sitting space, a good kitchen and dining room space. There is room for 4 cars in the driveway, plus one or two in the garage (depending on your parking skills ;-), which is nice. My friends and I are already thinking of trying to rent this lodge again next year (although this review may make it more difficult...). We had a small issue with the hot tub -- it was perfectly usable (it is really big too), but the jets did not function correctly every time. This has been reported and given Madelyn's responsiveness, I am confident that this will be solved.

Tahoe Park BEACH Walkable Access & Sunnyside

RRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Enjoyed a great stay here with our family of five over MLK weekend in 2025. Check in notes were helpful to let us know what was there versus what we needed to bring. Check in was easy and everything we used worked great! We didn’t need to contact host much but when we did, we got a promotion reply. Place is a little noisy being on a main thoroughfare, but the bedrooms are all in the back, which helps. The noise didn’t bother us. Overall I definitely recommend.

Large Lake Home with STUNNING VIEWS - Sleeps 16

SarahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our group had a great stay here. 12 adults fit comfortably, and we appreciated the variety of bed set ups and descriptions of each bedroom in the listing so we could sort out room assignments ahead of time. The place felt bigger than the photos made it seem, and we really enjoyed walking the path around the lake in the morning. Quiet little street right on the water that's convenient to all the main roads and attractions - can't beat it. Derick and Thy were super helpful and friendly - they even sent someone over to remedy a malfunctioning coffee maker. Would definitely recommend, and will be staying again if we're ever in the area again!

Your guide to Lake Tahoe

Welcome to Lake Tahoe

It’s tempting to describe Lake Tahoe, with its glittering blue waters, as a jewel, but that doesn’t get at the size of it. Lofted high in the Sierra Nevadas, ringed by snow-capped mountains, and straddling the California and Nevada borders, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest lakes in the United States, and the second deepest. Renowned for its clear, fresh water, the lake is an important research station for scientists who study its ecology and a picturesque playground for every type of waterfront fun. Fishing, boating, swimming, jet skiing, and scuba diving are all popular pastimes here. And plenty of visitors are content simply to relax on its many beaches, in the shade of towering pines. Thanks to Lake Tahoe’s size, the communities surrounding it are varied: Chic bohemian enclaves, rustic cowboy outposts, and glitzy casinos all cluster near its shores.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Lake Tahoe

For lakefront fun, summer is the high season to stay in one of Lake Tahoe’s cabin rentals, when the sun is high and hot and the cool alpine waters of Lake Tahoe are refreshing. The shoulder seasons of fall and spring also make for pleasant times on the water, particularly for boating and fishing. In winter the region transforms into a skiers’ paradise, with snow falling from December through March. During these months, the lake is a pretty backdrop for cold-weather sports.

Top things to do in Lake Tahoe

72-mile Scenic Drive

Start your journey at any point on the loop circumnavigating the vast lake for a chance to explore all the area has to offer. On your scenic ramble, you’ll pass historic homes, fascinating history museums, scenic overlooks, state parks, and characterful mountain communities, with gorgeous Lake Tahoe at your shoulder the whole time.

Tour Grand Homes

Long a destination for the wealthy, many of the grand estates that line Lake Tahoe’s shores have been turned into museums that you can tour. There’s the Ehrman Mansion, an opulent circa-1903 lodge built by a rich businessman from San Francisco, now run by the California State Park System. Thunderbird Estate, built in the 1930s, is notable for its stunning stonemasonry, ironwork, and woodwork. A short hike will carry you to Vikingsholm, a 1920s estate inspired by Scandinavian architecture.

Emerald Bay State Park

So named for its often vividly green waters, Emerald Bay is a postcard-pretty spot on the south side of Lake Tahoe. The area is home to striking vistas overlooking the bay, hiking trails, and the Vikingsholm estate. Just off the shore is little Fannette Island, accessible only by boat. Its granite face is covered in pines, and on top sits the shell of a stone tea house where ritzy vacationers of yore once relaxed.
