Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Bastimentos Island

One of the first things I think about when writing a review is “would I go back”? And the answer is 100%., I would go back in a heartbeat. This house is exactly what we wanted and expected. It was clean and comfortable with a big kitchen filled with quality appliances, pots and pans and cooking tools. The house is a few hundred meters from the water and the dock. Beds are super comfortable with quality bedding. The host and his assistant were responsive at all times in a warm and friendly manner.

Benson was a great host, very helpful and quick to respond to any needs. We so enjoyed the peaceful setting of our stay.

Like every other review this place is incredible. We didn’t want to leave! Our tips would be - take more cash than you think you’ll need and a little more food than you think you’ll need. 😆 we ate at the restaurant one evening which was lovely and their chef is amazing but otherwise it was easy to fend for ourselves in the incredible setting. Touring the community is amazing (take your bug spray!) and the other outings were equally as memorable. We also toured the cacao farm in Dolphin Bay which was great! We were there with our twin boys who are 7 and not a moment of boredom! The house kitty was adorable and the boys named her Tinta (Valimir said she didn’t have a name yet so was happy she got one 😆) The boys are ready to go back!

The location was great and the house it’s a lot bigger than it looks in the photos. We had more than everything we needed in the house. Sandra was very kind! :)

I just finished a month long stay at Allison and Sergio’s rental. The home was exactly as described, very clean and had everything available you may need-pots, pans, toiletries, etc. The downstairs area is open air, which makes you feel you are a part of the lovely surroundings. I saw beautiful birds and one day some monkeys in the trees near the balcony upstairs. I was worried about bugs in the downstairs space but there are fans, which helps and never felt like a big issue. This is also a great spot, outside the business of town but close enough to get there quickly for dinner/groceries. I rented a scooter for the month and this was a great way to get around. Also, having air conditioning made my stay very comfortable. Finally, one of the best part of the stay was meeting Allison and Sergio. They were so friendly, helpful and gave privacy despite being nearby. They are lovely and wonderful to deal with. Don’t hesitate to stay here. I was thrilled with my choice!

Jack and Vanessa were super responsive, friendly and helpful with anything we needed. The property is so beautiful! half on the beach and half in mid jungle, and really private and quiet. The house is nice, and my husband really enjoyed the little home gym:)

Tropical Suites is the perfect place to stay in Bocas! Between the pool and restaurant overlooking the gorgeous water, a swim up bar that makes delicious cocktails and smoothies, the large and comfortable bedrooms, the friendly and hospitable staff, and the ideal location in Bocas Del Toro, it is hard to beat Tropical Suites. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it to future travelers!

Lucas was helpful with instructions and travel trips pror to my arrival. He and Gloria were very friendly and welcoming my entire stay. The apartment was just as described and provided everything I needed. It was great to see, hear and experience the wildlife and Lucas sharing his knowledge of the animals. It was a wonderful a relaxing 5 days. I look forward to visiting again!

Great premium hostel with a good restaurant I would recommend

Julieta’s place is a bit higher than the rest of Old Bank village, so it’s very quiet and peaceful. She has a big garden surrounded by big trees and bamboos specifically her jackfruit trees attracted many birds which we could observe every day from our room! The trail to Wizards’ beach is right at the corner where we saw a couple of sloths! She is very friendly person who cares about us all through our stay by messages, despite she was off the island. Highly recommended!

My experience in this stay was excellent. The place is as shown in the photos: clean, comfortable and ideally located. The host was very attentive, always willing to help and provide local recommendations. I felt at home from the start. I would definitely recommend and would come and stay here again on future visits. Incredibly helpful communication. The area near the house looks a bit rough, but inside the house is a refuge. beautifully decorated with a really nice kitchen and hot water in the shower!

We had a pleasant stay at Ricardo's and his family's. La casita is located on their property in a beautiful garden. The neighborhood is quiet and yet 12 minutes by taxi or scooter from Bocas. You have the small restaurant Dosha 3 min walk which is excellent or Skully's 5 min walk which will also allow you to rent scooters, quad bikes, bikes etc… Ricardo is a great host. He was very responsive, considerate, friendly while respecting our privacy. It even allowed us to arrive well before check-in and leave well after check-out! Thanks again Ricardo;-)

Top cottage, nicely decorated and in a good location. Within walking distance are beautiful beaches + good bars. You can also easily take a taxi to the town.

Very comfortable apartment and included everything you need for a vacation, equipped kitchen, clean bathroom, sofa bed and screen with WiFi. As for communication with the host and co-host, it was excellent and clear. The area where it is located is very good and the price was reasonable.

The place was as expected or better, the location is fantastic because it's in the center area but still not too close to the noisy places, being on the 3rd floor helped. I'd go back to Dea's place, no question about it. There are cheaper and more expensive options around but I think this is a very good sweet spot, everything was clean, we felt safe and comfortable at all times! We had no trouble with the stairs but keep in mind that if you go with someone who has difficulty walking, going up to the 3rd floor where the condo is will be a challenge, we were totally ok with that and as long as you have no mobility impediments, the place is easy to get to. There was a minimal confusion about the locking mechanism at the front door, the bottom locker was loose and we thought it would be a problem but Dea was very responsive and explained how to use the top locker, which was totally fine and eased all our worries. I would recommend it and come back as well.

Bill was a gracious host and knew the island like the back of his hand. I would 1000% recommend his place to anyone looking to come to Bocas. He’s is extremely helpful and accommodating. Thanks!
