Bungalow vacation rentals in Mississippi River

The place was decent other than the mattresses for the spare beds were pretty lumpy. We didn’t ask for any sort of help with those but I feel the owner should consider replacing them. Oven was turned on whether you liked it or not if it was plugged in. Kitchen has very basic appliances and utensils but served us just fine(except for the lack of a toaster). When we first got there it was suggested we communicate with Carolina through WhatsAp which is fine but we asked if there was a toaster, responded right away but ask for an additional pillow and she didn’t respond until I sent another msg through Airbnb. After that communication was spot on. The neighborhood seems poor and run down but everyone is nice and friendly. Lots of garbage floating in under the suite but they try to clean it as much as possible. All and all I would consider staying there again but would probably want to see other options just cause.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Host was very responsive with any requests. House was just as pictured. The area was very quiet and peaceful- which is what we were after when booking, it certainly met and exceeded our expectations. We look forward to returning for a future stay!

We loved our stay at the Artists bungalow! We enjoyed the privacy of the back yard, the hot tub, and the many interesting things to look at! We cooked our meals in the kitchen and it worked beautifully. Great experience! Highly recommend!

We are returning guests and really enjoy staying at this home. Everything met our expectations and the fenced yard for the dog was great! Heather is an extremely responsive and gracious host!

We had a great time at Jennifer's place and she was very helpful the entire time. The place was close to where we wanted to be and had all of the things we needed. The neighbors were also very nice and actually ended up giving us fresh shrimp they had gotten from the Gulf that day. Really enjoyed our time there and would likely use the house again.

We had a great experience staying here! I recommend this for couples who are looking for something cosy, stylish, and won’t break the bank!

This is a great place to stay, easy beach access, peaceful, felt like we were at home. I would recommend this to my friends and we will be back next year.

All the good things previously written about Stephen and the bungalow are true!  Before and throughout my stay, Stephen was a friendly, gracious, and helpful host who clearly wanted me to feel at home in the bungalow. It did feel like home from the minute I walked through the door. There was a warm welcome note from Stephen on the counter, along with some Mrs. Mikes! Sun was shining through the many windows, most of which look out on beautiful gardens.  The whole bungalow is bright, airy, and incredibly clean with comfortable seating and sleeping. There are lots of convenient electrical outlets and plenty of storage places for all your stuff. It is in a quiet and safe neighborhood lined with trees for shady walks on hot days. I felt so relaxed and comfortable and welcomed there, and am already looking forward to my stay next summer.  Thank you, Stephen.

We had an amazing stay! Harold was a great host, and we had great communication from him. We knew in advance everything we needed to know, and all the info he gave us was right on the money! It’s close enough to downtown Long Beach to walk, or to grocery shopping just a few blocks away. The bungalow was private and very comfortable. Everything we needed was there and spotless. If we had wanted to use it, a gas grill was provided, or even a charcoal grill. And charcoal was there, too! The host didn’t leave out a single thing you could want in my opinion! The neighborhood was very nice and quiet, too. This will be our go-to destination any time we come to Long Beach!! Thanks, Harold and Claire, for an amazing place we could call home away from home!!!

Would definitely book again! The space was small, but super nice and perfect for our little weekend get away. Host was great and very quick to respond. She gave us all the necessary information and I felt safer knowing that if I needed something, I could easily reach out to her.

Very clean and homey place! We brought our dogs with us and the fenced yard was so convenient! There was plenty of space! The beds were clean! Plenty of towels in the bathroom. The only issue we faced was the WiFi connectivity to the tv. We had to restart the tv a few times but after a restart, things seemed to work. The couches were a bit hard but we made it work. When we return to Madison, we will most definitely be staying here again! We enjoyed our stay!

This was a quiet neighborhood. We were very comfortable here at this home. The owners were very good to work with our schedule. I think the thing I appreciated the most about this place is they left enough trash bags, dish, dishwashing soap, and toilet paper and paper towel towels, etc. where you didn’t have to go by your own.

This is a very comfortable place to stay. Elizabeth is helpful and very responsive. This house has additions like grills and outdoor patios that I hope we can return and use on additional stays.

Highly recommend! The drive to the house is so lovely - winding roads and wildflowers. The house and yard are even more beautiful in person! The house is meticulously decorated, clean, and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and had nice soft sheets. The view from the living room is gorgeous; it feels like you're in a treehouse! What a treat to sit outside on the comfy furniture and listen to the toads chirping! We also used the BBQ every night, which was so convenient. Old town Coldspring is worth the drive. We got to see fireflies on our last night! Howard was a pleasure to work with and quick to respond. We will be back again!

This is one of the best places we have stayed! The home was clean, comfortable and ideally located for our visit to WIU. The welcome snacks were appreciated after a full day of travel. I highly recommend staying here! We plan to stay next time we are in Macomb.
