Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Mission Bay, San Diego

This little gem is exactly what my husband I were looking for! It felt like we were in the heart of Ocean Beach! Just a quick walk to the beach, steps away from delicious food, coffee and convenience stores, and Lucy's, the bar that never closes lol. The house was clean, cute and plenty of space for 2 including all amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable! Check in and out were both easy with clearly stated instructions. We will book this house again! It is noisy, the airplanes and bar patrons might be in a competition.. but we found it to be entertaining! Gorgeous weather and the beach that's within walking distance is something out of a movie! Everyone is so friendly in this town! Thanks for having us!

Lindsey was an amazing host and the place was just as amazing! very nice and cozy inside and it was in a perfect location about 15 minutes from downtown. every place we had planned for the trip was very close and the beach less than 4 minutes away was a nice plus! it was very clean we spilled water on the floor and when we wiped it up the paper towel came up still white! i would definitely stay here again :)

The house was beautiful and the beds were super comfy. We ran into a few minor issues, but the host was responsive, communicative, and quick to resolve everything. The highlight of the stay was definitely the backyard — we spent most of our time relaxing out there day and night. Great setup and entertainment. The host also accommodated us with a late checkout, which made our departure much more convenient. Highly recommend!

I have loved San Diego for a very long time, but it was my first time to stay so close to the beach. The location is just lovely for being in the middle of SD for being fairly equal distance to La Jolla or Coronado or downtown—-but also such an easy walk to the beach for when you want to stay closer to your home base. I really can’t say enough good things about the decor, the comfort, the friendly hosting, etc etc etc. We are already plotting a return to Corrine’s spot because it was the perfect space for our mom & daughter getaway. If I could come back next week, then I would. San Diego is so wonderful to experience as a local, and this was the perfect spot for that.

We loved that Glen met us at the door and gave us a tour. He is right there and can help in anything you need! Lots of amenities and a great kitchen area. Easy to cook, can door dash groceries easily, walkable places. Super close to the beach on both sides. Every bedroom has a bathroom. Can’t beat that rooftop!

My stay here was exactly how I wanted it to be. The home was very clean and had a lot of necessities like cookware, silverware, shower products, and so much more! Everything was super neat and organized. The bed was extremely comfy. The host was very easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed, also made sure all our questions were answered. I am looking forward to staying here again when I return to San Diego. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about staying here. You definitely get your moneys worth.

We enjoyed the location- it was walking distance to the bay, a brewery, and a bar. A short drive / bike ride to tons of places to eat. Yard games and bikes were available, a nice bbq, spa was easy to operate

Jasmines place is a gem! In a very peaceful area, beautiful view to walk out to every morning. The outside deck was a huge plus, very cozy. She not only gave us good food recommendations but was very flexible with our check out time. Would recommend to anyone!

All we have to say is that we are definitely coming back to this Airbnb! Such a wonderful place and atmosphere and close to the beach plus we got to ride bikes!!! We had a great stay! The apartment was cozy, well-located, and very easy to find. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet, and the overall experience was smooth and comfortable. I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for hosting us!

Simon was a great host and provided more amenities than we thought! The decorations made the place feel warm and inviting. The walk to the beach was literally only a few minutes and we were able to walk to some restaurants and markets down the street easily. Overall I would highly recommend this place!

Plenty of space in this little apartment, and you can’t beat the location—Mission Beach is literally just a few feet from the front door. Big thanks to Daniel, who responded quickly when I had trouble with the lock (turned out to be user error on my part!). The apartment was clean, well-kept, and looked just like the photos. The location is a perfect 10/10. We really appreciated the extra touches—beach chairs and boogie boards were available for us to use, which we loved. There's also a hose on the side of the property, so rinsing off after the beach was super easy—we didn’t even need to walk down to the public showers by Belmont Park like we usually do. Overall, a great stay!

We had a great stay at this luxury studio in San Diego! This was our second time staying here. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the beach, which made it easy to enjoy the ocean any time of day. Parking is conveniently located right outside the unit, and the space itself was very clean, private, and comfortable. It felt like a cozy little retreat. The only downside was that the AC wasn’t working during our stay. We were able to cool the room at night by opening the window, which helped a lot, but during the day it did get a bit warm. We didn’t want to keep the door open all day for privacy reasons. That said, everything else about the stay was excellent, and we’d definitely consider coming back—especially once the AC is fixed.

Angels place was a little rough to find at first, but it's a great little oasis in SD on the bay side. Responsive host and good amenities. Great to have chairs and blanket for the beach...beach towels would've been a nice touch. Overall, good experience in a nice centrally located place.

I had a great stay at this apartment in San Diego near the bay. The location was perfect — it was easy to get around both by car and on foot, with lots of places to explore nearby. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was friendly, responsive, and made everything super smooth. I would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Kim’s place in San Diego! The condo was clean, centrally located and very spacious. The gated garage was awesome, and we loved staying on an upper floor with great views. We arrived very late in the night, and Kim was kind enough to stay awake to meet us with the keys and codes. We had a great time staying there during the long weekend!

Perfect location right on mission beach, and we loved the close vicinity to our favorite restaurants! It also came with sand toys & amenities for our toddler which was a huge plus. Only thing that could have made the stay any better is a broom to use, as the sand does start to accumulate after many days at the beach. Overall though, 10/10!

A Perfect San Diego Coastal Getaway! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Carl's beach home in the Pacific/Mission Beach area, and it was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charming beach cottage. The decor is super cute, combining cozy beach vibes with modern comforts, making it feel like a home away from home. The location couldn't be better! Just a short stroll from the beach, we enjoyed daily walks along the shore and stunning sunsets. The nearby restaurants and shops added to the convenience, making it easy to explore the local scene. Carl was an exceptional host, providing us with all the information we needed for a smooth stay. The cottage was clean, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. If you're looking for a perfect beach getaway, I highly recommend Carl’s beach home. Great location near the bay, includes two bikes, and two parking spots. Is a cozy spot that is perfect for two people. Great communication and accommodated early check in.

Beautiful spot on the 6th floor of basically the only tallish building around. The views were incredible and the location was great. Nice quiet area, right on the ocean, and the sunsets were insane. Nice and clean.

This was a wonderful place to stay. My wife, my two children, and myself stayed here for three nights. Everything was a breeze, and we had everything that we needed. Mugs, glasses, plates, etc. were all provided. This is so conveniently located. You are within a three minute walk to Starbucks, a four minute walk to the beach, and a four minute walk to outstanding restaurants nearby. The area is safe, clean, and quiet. This place is ideal for a small family that is bringing only one car. If you bring more than one car, you have to park publicly on the side of the street, which is very inconvenient in my opinion. Geoff provided everything for us, including an extra twin size bed, sand toys for the beach, beach, chairs, and beach towels. We would love to stay with Jeff again.

Fantastic location, right on the beach 3rd floor. Love the Condo. Plenty of room. Swathi is a fantastic host. Everything is in walking distance.

GREAT location and host. Has all amenities needed for a getaway. The parking spot was taken, but thankfully we found close street parking. Would stay again!
