Family-friendly vacation rentals in San Diego

We are so grateful to have been able to stay at Gwynn's place, it is so peaceful and lovely. Like a secret garden getaway. We loved all the small touches, and beauty of the space. Gwynn made us feel very welcome and comfortable! The pool is amazing and the outdoor spaces are delightful. Can't wait to stay here again.

Vanessa's place is in a very very quiet neighborhood just steps from the bay. I am a SD native, I know the city very well. I actually lived in the area for many years. This place is totally worth it if your traveling with a family with kids. Plenty to do, plenty of space to sit and relax inside and outside. It has plenty of things to keep kids busy from books to toys very very nice touch. If available when we return definitely will be staying here. The short walk to watch the sunset in the ocean is worth every penny..

The house is excellent. I'm a designer, and I think the design is fantastic. The scenery, plants, and small yard make it peaceful and comfortable. I feel very inclined to stay inside and don't want to go out.

You enter the house, a little uncertain. From the outside, a little underwhelming. You pass through the cosy living room, still a little underwhelming. And THEN, WOW. The pool area, the tennis court, the Vista to the west, the mountains...spectacular, breathtaking, everything as advertised and more. Back in the house, you find a very well stocked kitchen, extremely comfortable bedrooms, a unique "guesthouse" for the Seniors (in our case), and above all...everything in working order. Absolutely no issues! Bravo to our great landlord, who was a super communicator. Overall: our family of 12, across 3 generations, found wonderful places to be together as well as to disperse. A great time was had by all in this Vista Villa wonder!

Super peaceful and relaxing. we were just my husband and myself but definitely enough space for a family or a 2nd couple. Leucadia and Encinitas are great communities and Michelles place is a perfect balance of being close to the ocean and Encinitas town. we took a walk along Neptune and had dinner at Leu Leu. or we drove in to "town" and had great meals there. even took in a movie at La Paloma theater. Michelle did a great job with directions and instructions. everything clear and easy. thank you!

We had such an amazing week for our party of 7 family reunion!!! The house was exactly as described and so well stocked with amenities, most especially books, toys, and any children’s item you could think of for your young boys. Our family had tons of fun using the pool and hot tub, we definitely utilized the wide assortment pool/beach toys and floaties as well. We had a very good time with the special treasure hunt game which was amusement for all ages. Communication was top notch and the recommendations were much appreciated and spot on. We’re already planning our next vacation here again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Exactly as advertised and in a great location not far from the beach and boardwalk. The bikes were great for getting around as well. The bed was also very comfortable. Easily accessed and had no issues at all!

This home was beautiful! Plenty of space for the seven of us for our girls' trip. Helen was an excellent host. She was very responsive to any questions we had. The property was well-stocked with towels and linen, and had a washer and dryer in case you needed to do laundry. The backyard is beautiful. Extremely flexible check-in/check-out options. I would definitely stay again.

Location location location! Alex's craftsman was located in the heart of Hillcrest. Minutes to family attractions like sea world and the zoo. So close that we could drive back for lunch and nap time for our toddler and back for more afternoon fun. Clean and spacious. Easy parking. Everything in the kitchen you'd need.

This was our second time staying at this condo. Very nice setup, so nice to being out dog and so close to the dog beach! Will stay again.

We loved it! Anas home was wonderful, nice and clean definitely felt like home. Anas instructions was clear and simple. She wasn’t a bother at all. Definitely can’t wait to come back and book again.

The beach bungalow was as described. The location was ideal, just two blocks from the beach. The hot tub was a standout feature for our visit. It was clean and we had no issues with temperature. The home is a bit no-frills but that was as expected, still a great value. Host was responsive and shoutout to Pete, manager, who was kind and helpful throughout. Our family would stay again. P.S. the train did not really bother our family, some who are light sleepers, during the stay. It will not wake you up in the middle of the night.

Amanda was amazing. She left so many kids toys and essentials that made it so much easier for us with our little one! The layout was great and the location was good—10 min drive to basically everything. The beds are very soft so just something to consider if you prefer a firmer mattress. It was very easy to find street parking!

Very beautiful home not far from the beach or stores really close to Seaworld has a lot of accommodations for children and dogs. Overall, I loved my stay.

5 ⭐️ The house was just as described and had more than we expected. Kitchen was well stocked with condiments and extras, there was a full coffee bar, pots and pans. The place was clean, parking was easy, and Maricela was very communicative. It’s located right off the 805 fwy making it an easy location to be headquartered. I’d stay here again.

This place was HEAVEN!! We fell in love with the place. The place was spotless and looked exactly like the photos. A 15 min walk to restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the view from the couch every morning and the view from the lifeguard chairs in the evening. The Airbnb hosts were helpful and responsive. This place felt like home and can not wait to book again! Thank you!

This house was perfect for our family of 5! It was a great walk to the energetic center of OB but on a quiet street. We used the wagon a ton to walk to the beach and I will miss getting coffee at Azúcar. 10/10!

Daniel N Emily’s place was perfect for an Easter weekend reunion of our children and their young families. The house was clean, large enough to ensure nobody felt cramped for space and all of the assessors needed for the kitchen and bathrooms were available and in great shape. The communication before taking residence was personable and professional. The owners are very understanding and went out of their way to make sure everything was just right for our family and their three day visit. My wife and I would recommend this property if you have a large group and are looking for a safe and centralized location near everything you may wish to do in the Carlsbad area. The home is in a great location. Walkable to a variety of different areas, but still in a quiet neighborhood.

Beautiful, spacious, well-appointed home! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone going to San Diego! Neighborhood is convenient to all parts of the city.

Three generations of our family enjoyed this lovely house where everything you might hope to find is provided. As you step out of the house you are completely surrounded by a beautiful well kept garden with gazebo to duck under when it rained briefly. It goes without saying that we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. We appreciated an abundance of towels. For the beach we found sand toys for the kids , chairs, and boogie boards for the courageous. The beach is an easy walk and the village a couple blocks away. Alexander was vey responsive extraordinarily flexible. All to say it was a great experience.
