5/5 Stars We had the most incredible stay at this BNB! The hosts Philip & Minnie are truly amazing - warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Navigation: The location was quite easy to find, and the property's serene surroundings immediately put us at ease. Being situated right on the Periyar river was a huge bonus - the views were breathtaking! This BNB is genuinely one of the best places to relax and unwind. We highly recommend booking it for at least 2 days or more to fully experience the tranquility and charm of the place. Overall, our stay was a completely different experience from the usual hotel stays. The hosts' hospitality, the stunning location, and the cozy ambiance all combined to create an unforgettable getaway. Special mention to Caretaker Ganesh, for taking exceptional care of us. The property is situated in the middle of a lot of foliage, and it was really cozy for us. Everything was squeeky clean and maintained well, and the caretaker Mr. Shaji took good care of us, delivered food and groceries on time, and he was really friendly. Mornings in The Placid Rill are the most beautiful. We could watch the sunlight falling on the mountains and trees nearby, right from the bed. It was a 5 star property and a 5 star experience, and it is very ideal for couples and small families. One small issue I would say was that the wifi in our room was a little weak. I had some work documents to upload, and it took a lot longer than expected. But I don’t mind that. Would 100% recommend to a friend.

Amazing place to stay! The room was comfy and had everything we needed for a few nights! We had a great time here because of Nitheesh! He gave us really valuable and honest recommendations of things to do in the area! The location is great, very close to the entrance to Periyar National Park, where we spent two days! The street itself is quiet, but we had a great time walking down the Main Street! Nitheesh also booked tickets for the martial arts show (front row seats) which we thoroughly enjoyed! I would definitely recommend and stay here!

From the moment we spoke with Lakshmy on the phone, we felt at home. The warmth and kindness of the family is palpable. I arrived with the idea that we may make a friend over the 4 days me and my partner were there and left feeling like a part of the family. As a guest you are welcome to do things alone; eating, exploring or just resting but after meeting our hosts it’s hard to stay away. We took towels and toiletries, and water bottles to refill. We had time to explore beautiful Kumily and go on some day hikes in the reserve. Lakshmy is so helpful when it came to us organising things. She speaks multiple languages, has written a beautiful book, does incredible work with/for young women in India and is an absolute delight to just simply sit and talk to. We can’t recommend this place enough. Be ready to slow down, live simply and connect with your surroundings. Enjoy!
