Vacation rentals with beach access in Edinburgh

I cannot say enough positive things about Russell and this flat! It was bigger than expected and the views were gorgeous! It’s close to a grocery store, tons of amazing restaurants, parks, and public transportation. Comfortable beds and couches. Two eating areas (one in front of a bay window which is wonderful to drink a cup of coffee/tea in the morning at). Russell was so friendly, helpful, and gave a ton of recommendations for attractions and eateries. Any questions we had, Russell got back in 15 minutes or less. This is an artist’s dream. Tons of natural light. Close to Arthur’s Seat (close to everything really)! Cute decor. So charming. Will recommend to others and will return! Thanks Russell, for everything! 🙏

Holly's place has excellent views and is very well situated for the buses to the city. The apartment is very light and airy and well equipped. Holly is an excellent host and was very quick to respond when we had a small problem, sorted very quickly. We had a really pleasant stay.

A fantastic location right by the water in South Queensferry, just steps from a bakery, coffee shops, restaurants. A few steps further to transit and a grocery store, and everything you need. We loved the stay, the whole place was really great, especially for a family. Two minor items: As international travellers, we rely on wifi to stay in touch with family and look things up. While wifi is advertised, it was extremely slow (tested multiple times) and spotty. The other item is that the floor is very squeaky throughout most of the flat. For most travellers, this will not be an issue, but if you have kids sleeping (as we did), it might keep them up (as we experienced). Other than those two items, we loved our stay and would stay again!

Brodie‘s place is absolutely amazing! The bathroom is super nice, with a large mirror, the bed is comfortable and we felt right at home. The location is also amazing, when you take the tram to the city center it takes you about 10 minutes. I can really recommend this place, it was worth every penny.

Fantastisch verblijf in Portobello Beach House! We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf in het Portobello Beach House appartement. Het is leuk en sfeervol ingericht, waardoor we ons meteen thuis voelden. De host was erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk – altijd bereikbaar en gaf ons fijne tips over de omgeving. De locatie is perfect: een bushalte direct voor de deur en het strand is op slechts 10 minuten loopafstand. Portobello zelf is absoluut de moeite waard: een charmante buurt met leuke lokale eettentjes en een ontspannen sfeer. Met de bus of een Uber ben je bovendien zo in Edinburgh, waar natuurlijk ook van alles te beleven is. Kortom, een ideale uitvalsbasis om zowel tot rust te komen als de stad te verkennen. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug naar Portobello!

This cottage was so lovely! There was a beach nearby and my friend and I often walked there for a nice relaxing scenery. The cottage was so cozy and the bus stop was nearby and easy to take to head into the city! The cottage is perfect if you’re looking for a nice quiet cozy area!

Can’t recommend this place enough, fantastic location with great views, lovely hosts and clean & tidy apartment. Easy access to Edinburgh and the airport, when I arrived I got a Taxi from the airport, if I’d have known how simple the tram/bus journey would have been I’d have done that, I did for my return journey. Local restaurants are lovely and welcoming (Saphire & Queens Spice), good pint in the Thirty Knots too! I arrived late in the day, to be welcome with bread and milk amongst other things was just wonderful, simple touch which went a long way! I would definitely return and recommend this to anyone looking Thank you to the host(s)

Staying in Portobello while visiting Edinburgh for the marathon was wonderful - just a quick 30 minute bus ride to city center and so peaceful each night. The guest house had everything we needed and was very clean. The hosts were so personable and lovely. Would absolutely stay again!

Iona's place is gorgeous. It was more beautiful than we could have imagined. We were a party of 7, a family of 3 and a family of 4. Everyone had their own space. Her house is immaculate and very comfortable. You won't need a thing while staying there, the house has everything! With a bus stop right out front we could access all of Edinburgh easily. Portobello is a beautiful community and wonderful, peaceful place to return to after a busy day of sight-seeing. We loved St. Andrew's restaurant. Everyone in this area is very friendly and kind. We plan to return here next summer for sure. Iona was very helpful and kind, she was always available to contact if we needed her and very gracious and approachable. I can't say enough good things about our stay, it was our best holiday ever, much thanks to Iona and her beautiful home. I definitely recommend this location to anyone, especially families.

If we could rate Debbie’s place higher than a 5 we would😁. It was so clean and comfortable. We had 4 adults (2 couples) in our group. The beds are comfortable and it was wonderful to have 2 bathrooms. The kitchen has great cooking equipment and the extra little touches of cookies and availability of spices was very much appreciated. Thank you so much to Debbie and her sister 🥰

Beautiful, stylish and comfortable house really excellently located in Portobello, close to both the High Street and the beach. We stayed for a week and the house was perfect for our family of four. Ania is an ideal host - friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!

The instructions for all the services and amenities we're clear. The area is quiet with excellent transport links - I would recommend for a stay in Edinburgh.

Lovely stay in a walkable location for central Edinburgh. Clean place with everything we needed for our stay, able to cook a meal without issues. Responsive hosts. Perfect place for two couples to stay. Thank you to our hosts.

Here's the English translation: It’s such a pleasant place to stay. Very close to the beach, where you can truly relax after the marathon. Everything was very clean and worked perfectly, and the host was very friendly and helpful. One thing you absolutely must do is turn on the Sonos system and listen to the great music (we suspect it’s Mark’s playlist). We really enjoyed it, and with those big beds, you’re guaranteed to catch the sweetest dreams.

Nous avons résidé en famille dans l’appartement pour quelques jours. L’appartement est grand et très bien équipé, le bord de mer est très sympathique et nous ne sommes pas très loin du centre d’Edinburgh. De plus, Julia est très agréable et serviable. Au top !

L'emplacement est parfait pour visiter Édimbourg, la gare est à 5 min à pied et il y a très régulièrement des trains. Super aussi pour aller à pied à la plage (20min environ) et boire un verre et/ou manger au bord de l'eau. Le "garage" est largement assez spacieux pour deux, très propre et avec tout ce qu'il faut pour un court séjour. La communication est facile avec Jamie, qui est très réactif. Je recommande ce logement, il est top!

Loved the location in a lovely town with easy access to groceries, restaurants and pubs. Walking trails all around with incredible views. Easy access to Edinburgh with multiple options for travel from train, trams and buses. Also quick on/off if driving north to see the beautiful Scotland coastline and towns. Apartment had wonderful views and a well stocked kitchen. Host was very responsive.

Absolutely beautiful flat and great location both near the gorgeous Portobello beach and near a train station so only 7 minutes’ train ride into Edinburgh Waverley. The flat was spotless and had everything a young family could need, including toys, highchair etc. Heather had thought of everything. It felt like being at home. Heather was really quick to respond and super helpful. We would love to come back. Can’t recommend it more highly.

Paul is responsive and he keeps the apartment clean and tidy. The beds are comfortable and I wish I can have his sofa at my home 😁 There are two lockboxes at the entrance so we spent a bit of time to sort it out. Although no allocated parking is provided, there are enough parking spaces nearby which is quite hassle free to me. I’d recommend this place to everyone.
