Vacation rentals with a fire pit in California

The moment we saw the breathtaking view on the listing my partner and I knew we just had to stay here. The host was very friendly and responsive. The place itself was clean and the photos provided showed exactly what they offered. The bed was so comfortable and the bedding smelled amazing. Although on the smaller side, we weren’t too worried as we were only there for one night. We arrived shortly after check in and spent some time on the deck admiring the view and then when it got darker started the pit. Check in was smooth and easy to follow. Clear instructions were provided for the fire pit and the sauna. Neighborhood was very quiet even in a place as busy as LA. Would definitely stay here again for a quick trip!

This is our second time at Highrock House. Absolutely love the peacefulness and beautiful surroundings. Every amenity is available at the home - no need to leave unless you want to! This is our favorite place to stay in Idyllwild! We will definitely be back.

What a magical place Josephus (Joost) has created for us to enjoy. Nestled in the heart of the Alabama Hills, this home offers the most breathtaking views of the Sierras and Mount Whitney—visible from most rooms in the house. The design and decor reflect Joost’s incredible eye as a cinematographer; every detail feels intentional and inspired. High praise for his effort in curating such a stunning and soulful space. The outdoor bathtub is a true highlight—bathing under the stars, the Milky Way stretching overhead, or a full moon casting a cool blue glow across the mountains—it’s an experience that stays with you. And if you have the pleasure of meeting Joost, he is an interesting man, exuding a soulful energy that adds even more depth to the experience of staying here. Honestly, I hesitate to write this review because I selfishly want to keep this gem a secret, just so it’s easier to book again. But Joost deserves the highest praise. A truly unforgettable stay.

We stayed here for our two-year wedding anniversary and had a truly memorable time. The house was extremely clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. We especially loved winding down in the evenings with the hot tub and fire pit while watching the sunset. It felt peaceful and private, but still just a short drive to downtown and several great wineries. April was a fantastic host and her guidebook of local spots made exploring the area even easier. A perfect spot for a relaxing getaway.

Absolutely beautiful spot for a relaxing couple of days outside of the city. Gorgeous property surrounded by tall tress - if you're looking for a peaceful getaway this should be at the top of your list. Looking for an opportunity to return.

Like so many others we loved our stay at Dogwood. The space itself it gorgeous (taking notes for future home) and we felt right at home. We loved waking up to the chorus of birds and sunlight beaming through the trees and the stars at night are unreal out here. The place had a great entertainment set up for relaxing after long days at the river. Our two dogs loved sniffing around the yard and took advantage of the doggie beds. It felt very private even with the other two homes near by. It is a fair drive from Nevada City, so make sure to bring groceries with you so you don't have to go back and forth. Mother Truckers about 10 minutes down the road had a surprisingly great selection. There were a fair amount of mosquitos but we really appreciated the mosquito net, bug spray, and citronella candles at the property. Great place to unplug, unwind, and enjoy the river!

Nicest air bnb we have stayed in when it comes to the antelope valley! We highly recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay with a great view and plenty of privacy. Garri was very helpful as well.

We had a fantastic stay at the Valley View apartment! Lynn gave us clear directions, and her detailed guidebook was incredibly helpful for planning our time in Napa and Sonoma. The apartment itself is cozy and comfortable, with stunning views and a beautifully maintained property. We loved the peaceful setting. There are cows on the property, plus we spotted turkeys, deer, and even got daily visits from Hazel the cat, which was such a sweet bonus. This is a truly special place, and Lynn is an exceptional host. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

This was one of the best AirBnb's I have stayed at. Jan was friendly and left several extra ammenities inside the home. The location was in a safe and walkable location. The outside seating areas were inviting and relaxing. My stay was very enjoyable and I will be returning when I am in the area again.

Great stay at Marabella! The views were stunning from our room! Located right on the water, walking distance from many shops and restaurants. The patio was nice and grounds were well kept and clean. The beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and outdoor shower was definitely appreciated. It was perfect!

Renzo went above and beyond by leaving us a welcome card and complimentary beverages, his place was peaceful and welcoming, would definitely recommend to family and friends in the future!!!

Kerry’s place is beautiful! Perfect spot and just enough space for a couple. The place is exactly as pictured and the provided guide was extremely helpful in showing us how to work the outdoor bath, shower, misters, fire pit, etc., there was no need for us to ask the host for help for anything. The backyard was so much fun! Although it got windy in the afternoons, it’s a great spot to relax when you don’t feel like going out. We utilized the outdoor shower, tub, and misters to the fullest! We loved how it was extremely private as well. The host was quickly responsive to our request of checking out a little late. Location is perfect driving distance between Joshua Tree and Palm Springs, but there are some cute spots around the town of Desert Hot Springs as well. Would definitely stay again!

Blue Lake Sanctuary is incredible. I actually had the opportunity to stay at the sanctuary for three weeks because I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training (YTT) through Soma Yoga Institute with Peggy Profant (AirBnB host) and Liz Heffernan (shameless plug). It was truly the most perfect place to complete my YTT, and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to reset at the AirBnB for a few days after the training. The sanctuary is truly magical, and Peggy was such a kind and responsive host. If you're flying in, you definitely need a car for the area, but there is a lot to do in Humboldt County. Peggy also teaches a yoga class at the sanctuary on Saturday mornings, and she's an incredible yoga teacher. I would certainly stay there again! The only thing I would say is watch your head because the ceiling in the loft is quite low. Other than that, it's the perfect spot!

Such a beautiful place! if you like peaceful, quiet, cozy, but also close to a small town with cute shops.... Amazing place! we saw sooo many turkeys.

Amazing gem of an Airbnb! Please do yourself a favor if you want a beautful cabin getaway in the mountains, and choose this place. It’s only about a 30 minute drive to Big Bear, and a 12 minute drive to Sky Park. Perfect if you want a place to mountain bike in the summer or snowboarding in the winter. It did lose WiFi for about a day, but the cabin has board games that you can play with your significant other and this cabin is really just about unplugging from technology. Amazing experience, highly reccomend!

Meri’s Wilderness Cabin was perfect for we weary, stressed humans. The quiet solitude was life altering and we are trying hard to replicate it at home. The desert was a wonderful surprise and I will return as soon as possible! I highly recommend Meri as a host and her cabin as a sanctuary. It is beautiful and lovingly decorated, true to the environment and history of Joshua Tree.

The place exceeded our expectations — it’s even better than the photos! Clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. We especially loved the music collection, and the kitchen was fantastic — I cooked a steak dinner and it turned out perfectly. One thing to note: there's about a 1,000-foot dirt road leading up to the house. It’s manageable if you’re careful, but encountering it unexpectedly while 500 miles away from home on a multi-day road trip was a bit stressful. Overall, highly recommended!

Stayed here a second time, can’t keep thinking about the amazing view that I get to share with my family. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful and majestic place.

I had such a lovely and peaceful stay at the Tiny Triangle! The A-frame cabin was exactly as pictured—charming, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. The space was spotless and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing getaway. The views from the loft and the deck were beautiful, even more magical in the rain. Luckily it rained when we were there ughhh most magical experience. It was definitely cozy. You can tell Brent and Jackie put a lot of love into this place. Communication was great, and everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. I’d definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet retreat in nature with great vibes and comfort!

Very special place, feels like a home and the location is very unique. What a lovely place to visit! The hot tub and the s'mores station were the cherry on the top. Kids loved it too

Wish we could’ve stayed here longer! The home itself was absolutely beautiful and secluded. The kitchen had everything we needed and the entire place was very clean and luxurious feeling. Definitely recommend making time to sit outside here during sunset. What takes the stay to the next level is the host. They were extremely communicative, helped with recommendations, and quick with any questions we had during the time there. We will be back!
