Villa vacation rentals in South America

First off, Mo is amazing—always available, super helpful, and just a great guy all around. He had suggestions for everything we needed. The road in is steep but manageable. A 4x4 is recommended (and worth having in Costa Rica anyway for exploring) We spent two weeks here and didn’t want to leave. Our favorite part of each day was waking up early with coffee and the sounds of the birds. We saw Yellow-throated Toucans, Fiery-billed Aracaris, Scarlet Macaws, Motmots, Parrots, and Parakeets to name a few—best birdwatching is 5–8 a.m. The house is fantastic, very well-stocked (including spices, coffee and more), with great outdoor space and a perfect breeze. We never needed the A/C. The cross breeze through the house is perfectly designed. This is hands down the best place we’ve stayed in Costa Rica. You’ll be blown away when you arrive. Huge thanks to Brendon and Mo, we’ll definitely be back! I really can’t say enough great things about this house. Book it now you will not regret it!

Absolutely loved everything about our stay! We came specifically to bird watch, and it turned out to be the perfect location. Peaceful, scenic, and full of life within just three days, we were able to identify 50 different species. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

Such a beautiful place! Absolutely loved it. The host was also incredibly kind and responsive to several questions. Thank you! We loved being able to hop in the jacuzzi at the beginning and end of the day and being able to watch beautiful birds with our binoculars right from the comfort of the jacuzzi! Also, the outdoor shower/bathroom was such a cool concept - loved it. Should also note that while open air, it is also fully protected from rain. Thank you so much for a lovely time. Would definitely return!

The dream house is really a dream. It was two amazing nights. The rooms have a breathtaking view, the house has an affectionate decoration. Martha was very helpful and always responded very quickly. We hired a cook who helped us over the weekend and made our stay even more comfortable. The waterfalls are very close to the house and Paraty is only 15 minutes away. The pool was at a great temperature! We were able to enjoy the water even with an outside temperature of 22 degrees.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Villa Canopy. Rosa was wonderful, the place was absolutely fantastic, and we had no complaints. Note that unless you have a “real” 4x4 (and most of the “city 4x4s” such as the Renault duster rented in Santa Marta would not qualify as “real”), the road to get to the villa will be impassable. It is incredibly steep and rough, so if you need to get up the road in a car, you’ll either need a very good 4x4 or a taxi. The villa provides a good contact for a taxi service and it costs around 60,000 COP each way. It’s about a 20 minute walk to/from town, but it’s a strenuous and steep hike, so you probably don’t want to do it if you are carrying significant luggage. Despite the poor road, this place was well worth it and we would come back in a heartbeat.

Everything was great! The house is beautiful and the service is A1, especially Sergio the cook, the food was delicious. You have company all the time from the rescued pets that are a sweetheart. The beach is super nice and quiet. I would recommend it and return a thousand times. Thank you for everything!

Our stay at Barbara’s Villa was absolutely amazing. We spent so much time outside in the pool and relaxing in the gorgeous tropical patio setting. I could not get enough of all the colorful birds flying in and out of the lush trees and bushes that surrounded that resort style pool. The inside of the house was also beautiful and very spacious, stocked with everything you would need for a great day on the beach or a relaxing meal at the Villa- Thanks Barbara for a memorable vacation

Our stay was fantastic. The home is exactly as advertised - a great spot for spending a day by the pool or a perfect starting point for exploring the island. The home was clean and comfortable, the pool was ideal, and the communication from the Vacation Aruba Team was impressive. The home is very close to some great beaches for snorkelling and swimming. We enjoyed our time!

The house is beautiful, it has a very nice view, there are congos, the beach is very close and we got to see turtles laying eggs. In addition, Evan's service was wonderful, he brought us some delicious seeds and was always attentive, we would definitely come back.

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation, and this house was great! Geralyn was such a valuable asset—her recommendations were top notch. We booked the private chef for our last night, and it was delicious and absolutely worth it! A couple of things to note about the house that I wish we had realized beforehand: • The master suite and main living area (which is beautifully done and very private) are separate from the other two bedrooms. As a family of six wanting to stay close together, it was a bit surprising. To access the other two bedrooms and shared bathroom, you need to exit the main level, go down an outdoor flight of stairs, and use a separate entrance with a keypad lock. It’s secure, but it did make us a little uncomfortable at first having our two daughters staying in a separate part of the house. That said, it ended up working out fine. • Also, just a heads up—the hot tub doesn’t have heat. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and made wonderful memories!

The views are absolutely stunning. It added such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere to the entire experience. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and you can really tell that care and intention went into creating a space for guests to enjoy. Dushi was also a great host — responsive, friendly, and made everything feel seamless. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway.

We had such an amazing time celebrating a milestone birthday. Everything was absolutely perfect. The property is stunning. The rooms were comfortable and immaculate. This was the perfect space to spend a week connecting with friends. We did not want to leave and will definitely be back. I would highly recommend this property if you want a peaceful space with beautiful surroundings but still close enough to everything Santa Teresa has to offer.

Wow!!! What an experience!! Whitney’s place was absolutely amazing!!! Perfect place for our family vacation. Enough room for everyone and space to not feel cluttered! Beautiful views & beautiful amenities!!! Simone was beyond helpful!!! Such an amazing woman and made so many amazing experiences with her! She made the entire trip seamless! She took us on our snorkeling tour & to spend the day with Indigenous Boruca Sergio & his mom. Such a beautiful experience. Vlad, our chef, was AMAZING!!!! He made each of our meals better than the next & my birthday extra special!!! We caught tuna & he switched it up and served it fresh that night!!! His bartending skills were on point too and he became like family!!! Don’t hesitate on staying here I promise you’ll love it!! The pictures are beautiful but don’t show the depth of just how amazing it is!!! So be sure to utilize Simone for some of your experiences/excursions & book Vlad’s chef services!!! Pura Vida!!!!

Villa Yazmin is a truly special and amazing home! We had a fantastic experience and we cannot say thank you enough to our wonderful host, Mary. Mary was so responsive and a joy to talk with. She arranged to pick us up at the airport and then also drove us to our next destination on the island after our stay at the villa. We used her Ford vehicle to drive around and visit all of the local beaches and restaurants, and it was so easy and much appreciated (although it was hard to tear ourselves away from the villa, the pool, and the beautiful views!) Mary is such a welcoming and generous person and we loved getting to know her. The villa is exceptional, easily our best Airbnb experience. Mary has thoughtfully decorated and provided great amenities. Thank you again Mary for sharing your gorgeous home with us! We would love to return!

Absolutely loved our stay at this stunning Airbnb! The view is simply breathtaking, and we found ourselves mesmerized by it every day. The kitchen is well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the bedrooms are comfortable and inviting. Two of the bedrooms are located outside the main house, which was not a problem for us due to the lovely weather. However, it might be a consideration if you're visiting during rainy days. Overall, we had an amazing experience and can't wait to return! Highly recommend this gem!

Amos and his team were extremely helpful with anything we needed. We felt well taken care of. The view is insanely beautiful. You can look out over the ocean in the pool and watch the sunset every afternoon. The place was clean and felt like a high end hotel. I recommend getting an ATV to get around town and back to the AirBnB. Our stay was perfect. Can’t wait to come back. 10/10 would suggest staying here.

Loved this air bnb! It was fabulous. Breath-taking views & the pool was amazing. My boyfriend and I spent a decent amount of time at our air bnb (because it was just so beautiful) so it was such a highlight of our trip. They helped us book excursions, massages, and even had our groceries delivered when we got there late at night. My rating is 1000/10!! The way up to the air bnb is a crazy drive. Fernanda helped us find it and check in on the first day, so it wasn’t too bad, but definitely took some practice getting up that road on a steep hill / mountain. Would highly recommend renting a 4WD small SUV. Well worth it for the view though.

This was the best Airbnb spot my family and I have ever been to! It was absolutely beautiful! The house was in a very convenient location, near a lot of restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions. The house felt very serene, homey, inclusive, and safe. Check-in/Check-out process was smooth. The house had everything you needed (i.e, washer machine, kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, towels, etc.). Raoul was an awesome host! He was very responsive, accommodating, and informative. He gave great recommendations that helped us along the trip. If you're thinking about booking, no need to think too long. Thank you again Raoul to you and your family for the hospitality!

This is truly the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at, and I’ve stayed at plenty. Adriana was super responsive from a month prior. Any questions I had, she was quick to respond and she was super informative. She helped me get set up with my ferry and hiring a private chef for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday dinner at the Airbnb. It was a nice surprise to have security at night time - who by the way was so kind. We felt super safe. We had on site staff in the morning that help maintained our pool and our house. They were amazing. Thank you to the staff there. There is construction next door but it never bothered us. When we were swimming in the pool, they had speakers we could use that helped with the noise. The view was super breathing taking too, that the noise felt like it was never there. The house itself, 3 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. All spacious, all clean, huge, beds were super comfortable. I really loved my stay here. It was the best place my bf and I have been to. We will be back

We loved Curaçao but a lot of it had to do with this place we stayed. It was incredible. Loved having such an open air place with everything we needed to cook and great snorkeling right down the steps. I think we would go back to Curaçao but only if we stayed here.

I don’t even know how to best describe our incredible experience. Steve and Claire were beyond cordial and accommodating, to the point where Steve was going to get his car and meet us where we got lost (our fault). Their recommendations for food, shopping and gas were spot on. They helped us find beaches as well. They respond to questions within minutes. Now let’s talk about the villa. We walked in and felt like we were staying at a five-star resort. Everything was impeccably decorated and very well fought out. It’s the little details that matter, such as light switches by the bed to spacious en suite in each room. The outside space was spectacular, and we lived out there most of the time, even swimming in the rain. It was so fun having iguanas and geckos joining us. We took advantage of some of the services Steve and Claire offered and had a private chef prepared dinner, which was definitely one of the highlights. Thank you, Steven and Claire, for an unforgettable experience!
