Villa vacation rentals in South America

Evan’s villa is truly a gem. With a highly a) secluded, private outdoor space, b) tall, spacious bedrooms, c) a fully furnished kitchen and d) an incredible infinity pool, I absolutely plan on coming back. Evan was incredibly kind and proactive, at one point bringing over a coconut as a welcome gift. It’s truly a jaw dropping property and I can’t recommend this place enough.

The most beautiful airbnb I’ve ever stayed in! Hands down.

First off, Mo is amazing—always available, super helpful, and just a great guy all around. He had suggestions for everything we needed. The road in is steep but manageable. A 4x4 is recommended (and worth having in Costa Rica anyway for exploring) We spent two weeks here and didn’t want to leave. Our favorite part of each day was waking up early with coffee and the sounds of the birds. We saw Yellow-throated Toucans, Fiery-billed Aracaris, Scarlet Macaws, Motmots, Parrots, and Parakeets to name a few—best birdwatching is 5–8 a.m. The house is fantastic, very well-stocked (including spices, coffee and more), with great outdoor space and a perfect breeze. We never needed the A/C. The cross breeze through the house is perfectly designed. This is hands down the best place we’ve stayed in Costa Rica. You’ll be blown away when you arrive. Huge thanks to Brendon and Mo, we’ll definitely be back! I really can’t say enough great things about this house. Book it now you will not regret it!

Absolutely loved everything about our stay! We came specifically to bird watch, and it turned out to be the perfect location. Peaceful, scenic, and full of life within just three days, we were able to identify 50 different species. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

Such a beautiful place! Absolutely loved it. The host was also incredibly kind and responsive to several questions. Thank you! We loved being able to hop in the jacuzzi at the beginning and end of the day and being able to watch beautiful birds with our binoculars right from the comfort of the jacuzzi! Also, the outdoor shower/bathroom was such a cool concept - loved it. Should also note that while open air, it is also fully protected from rain. Thank you so much for a lovely time. Would definitely return!

The dream house is really a dream. It was two amazing nights. The rooms have a breathtaking view, the house has an affectionate decoration. Martha was very helpful and always responded very quickly. We hired a cook who helped us over the weekend and made our stay even more comfortable. The waterfalls are very close to the house and Paraty is only 15 minutes away. The pool was at a great temperature! We were able to enjoy the water even with an outside temperature of 22 degrees.

I absolutely loved the space! Very difficult to get to and to get out of. Couldn’t get an Uber out had to use a suggested driver of the Airbnb host. Unfortunately the driver charged triple the amount that a regular driver would charge. But we didn’t have any options due to other drivers not wanting to come up a unpaid road. The driver was nice, but was purposely overcharging us. But other than that, we had a great timein the space.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Villa Canopy. Rosa was wonderful, the place was absolutely fantastic, and we had no complaints. Note that unless you have a “real” 4x4 (and most of the “city 4x4s” such as the Renault duster rented in Santa Marta would not qualify as “real”), the road to get to the villa will be impassable. It is incredibly steep and rough, so if you need to get up the road in a car, you’ll either need a very good 4x4 or a taxi. The villa provides a good contact for a taxi service and it costs around 60,000 COP each way. It’s about a 20 minute walk to/from town, but it’s a strenuous and steep hike, so you probably don’t want to do it if you are carrying significant luggage. Despite the poor road, this place was well worth it and we would come back in a heartbeat.

10/10 no complaints! it’s such a nice looking airBNB and the master bedroom is HUGE. views are A1. had practically everything you would need in a rental space. also, I was provided with info needed to book a private chef, and massage/facials which was nice. literally everything was made easy. day 1 I couldn’t find the specific email where they sent the door code so I would’ve preferred if that information was relayed via airBNB messaging for convenience purposes but once I reached out about it they responded right away. at the end of the stay they sent an email specifically stating to not worry about cleaning anything because we should be in vacation mode. I loved that because that’s usually not the case with airbnb and it took tasks off our plates that we would’ve otherwise had to handle. all in all it was a great experience. if I come back to Aruba (with the same size group or smaller) I would definitely rebook this same stay.

Villa Roger is gorgeous. It’s comfortable, felt safe and has stunning views. It’s not cluttered inside and has the necessities. There’s lots to do nearby with good restaurants and activities. You do need a four wheel drive for the area itself and the driveway which is rocky. The drive from Liberia to La fortuna was long and windy but beautiful. 10/10 recommend this home.

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation, and this house was great! Geralyn was such a valuable asset—her recommendations were top notch. We booked the private chef for our last night, and it was delicious and absolutely worth it! A couple of things to note about the house that I wish we had realized beforehand: • The master suite and main living area (which is beautifully done and very private) are separate from the other two bedrooms. As a family of six wanting to stay close together, it was a bit surprising. To access the other two bedrooms and shared bathroom, you need to exit the main level, go down an outdoor flight of stairs, and use a separate entrance with a keypad lock. It’s secure, but it did make us a little uncomfortable at first having our two daughters staying in a separate part of the house. That said, it ended up working out fine. • Also, just a heads up—the hot tub doesn’t have heat. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and made wonderful memories!

We had such an amazing time celebrating a milestone birthday. Everything was absolutely perfect. The property is stunning. The rooms were comfortable and immaculate. This was the perfect space to spend a week connecting with friends. We did not want to leave and will definitely be back. I would highly recommend this property if you want a peaceful space with beautiful surroundings but still close enough to everything Santa Teresa has to offer.

Wow!!! What an experience!! Whitney’s place was absolutely amazing!!! Perfect place for our family vacation. Enough room for everyone and space to not feel cluttered! Beautiful views & beautiful amenities!!! Simone was beyond helpful!!! Such an amazing woman and made so many amazing experiences with her! She made the entire trip seamless! She took us on our snorkeling tour & to spend the day with Indigenous Boruca Sergio & his mom. Such a beautiful experience. Vlad, our chef, was AMAZING!!!! He made each of our meals better than the next & my birthday extra special!!! We caught tuna & he switched it up and served it fresh that night!!! His bartending skills were on point too and he became like family!!! Don’t hesitate on staying here I promise you’ll love it!! The pictures are beautiful but don’t show the depth of just how amazing it is!!! So be sure to utilize Simone for some of your experiences/excursions & book Vlad’s chef services!!! Pura Vida!!!!

Wow, what an amazing 6 days we had at Villa Yazmin. The location can’t be beat, the house is super clean and exactly as described. Mary has done a fabulous job with all of the mature plantings, surrounding the pool and the two lower palapa’s one midway with a table for 6 which we used each morning while enjoying a coffee then the second one down by the water with a giant sofa to watch the sunset. The bedrooms all have private bathrooms, and are spacious and well appointed. The master has a giant picture window overlooking the ocean. The kitchen has everything you could need or want for cooking at the house, and the outside BBQ was used often during our stay. We will be back, that’s how much we loved Villa Yazmin.

Milena was a great host. Responsive and helpful. The place, house, and rooms were beautiful, same as in the pictures. The location is great.

Adriana was extremely helpful! From assisting with reservations to putting us in touch with local vendors - everything was perfect! The home is absolutely beautiful and very well kept. It was exactly as described. Adriana and her team was very proactive and responsive, regardless of the time. Would absolutely recommend staying in this home - already can’t wait to come back. For those not familiar with Costa Rica during the raining months, it is not unusual for the power to go out. This happened during our stay but Adriana and team were very attentive and despite being out of their control, made us as comfortable as possible.

Chef Luis and Patricia truly made our trip unforgettable! Their hospitality, warmth, and incredible cooking made us feel right at home. The place was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed—but it was their personal touches that made all the difference. We did have a small inconvenience during our stay, but we’re confident they’re already working on it so future guests won’t have to worry. We can’t thank them enough and would absolutely love to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special and memorable stay!

Our stay at Barbara’s Villa was absolutely amazing. We spent so much time outside in the pool and relaxing in the gorgeous tropical patio setting. I could not get enough of all the colorful birds flying in and out of the lush trees and bushes that surrounded that resort style pool. The inside of the house was also beautiful and very spacious, stocked with everything you would need for a great day on the beach or a relaxing meal at the Villa- Thanks Barbara for a memorable vacation

Paradise. This location is absolutely gorgeous, peaceful, and a true experience of being in Costa Rica nature. The property is surrounded by beautiful foliage, and has an amazing Mountain View. We loved watching the weather patterns throughout the days and the sunrises. The bed and linens are comfortable. The pool is relaxing and the perfect design with shallow and deep ends. We loved our experience and would absolutely return. It's definitely worth the short drive up the mountain to experience the amenities of this property.

We had a great time at Villa Lasai! Sophie- the concierge, did a great job assisting us with anything we needed and the house itself is exactly what you see on the pictures- gorgeous with breathtaking views, great pool and outdoor area. I am not an early bird by any means but I enjoyed waking up early in this house a lot- hearing all the forest inhabitants, ocean waves breaking somewhere further make you want to start your day to see/feel more of that. The house is located up the hill and the road is partially paved which took us one full round trip to get used to, but once you get a hang of it- it’s totally fine just a bit bumpy. In terms of proximity to everything the location is great, once you’re down the hill- you’re on the main street of Santa Teresa with all the restaurants, shops and tons of ocean access points. Overall, would definitely recommend Villa Lasai and would love to come back here some time in the future!

I celebrated my birthday with my family in Picasa and was amazed not just the beautiful property but also Pierre- our host! I knew I picked the right place to celebrate. We had everything we needed & was accessible to everything. The place was an oasis & able to celebrate & spend quality time with my family. Thank you Pierre, we will be back. You were so warm & every one of us loved our stay!
