Akarisou means ‘Light House’ I chose this name in the hope that this house would be ‘Light’ to my guests In the main bed room, you’ll find a wall decoration made of wooden lattice which is like ‘Sunshine’ There's a free parking lot in front of my house　(max size of the car: 4.5m×2.5m) , super convenient if you travel by car! For making the guests have wonderful experience here, this guesthouse is designed and built thoughtfully. Please stay at Aduma and have a unforgettable time in Kyoto. There are a Japanese-style room with horigotatsu, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a toilet on the 1st floor. There are two Japanese-style rooms on the 2nd floor. You can relax here laying futons, Japanese-style mattresses and blankets, on the floor. (Futons are 210-cm long.) All rooms are clean and cozy.

The kitchen area features modern appliances, including a microwave and refrigerator. A wooden dining table with four chairs is positioned near a large window, allowing natural light to fill the space. Light cabinetry and a neutral color palette create a bright and inviting environment.

Kei & Ritsuko’s place was very comfortable, clean and close to both bus and subway stations. It was also walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants and Fushimi Inari. Hosts were super helpful and responsive. A little traffic noise if you are not used to it.

Wonderful location - walkable or quick cab to many sites and conveniences. Cool Machiya good for two couples with upstairs and downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms providing privacy. Downstairs bedroom has a firm western style bed, two upstairs bedrooms have multiple futons and plenty of bedding. Compared to our other accommodations with futons, these were very thin, but because they were plentiful we stacked them for a little more cushion. Lovely small garden to look over makes the place feel a world away. Rental company was responsive and dropped off dishwasher soap same day when we realized there wasn’t any. Overall great stay and excellent hosts - would recommend for your stay in wonderful Kyoto!

The home is very special and unique. We are a family of two adults, a 16yo and 8yo. We all loved the home traditional aspects of the home with modern appliances. Even though the home is nestled into a neighborhood, it is a short walk to the gorgeous river, a huge grocery store and a little further are bus stops and train stations. The bikes were such a gift and we enjoyed using them. Although we didn't use them, it was thoughtful to have rain jackets and umbrellas available. Hiroe met us promptly even after a time change with little notice. She was efficient and thorough in her directions. We felt grateful to stay in such a lovely and comfortable home.

It was really close to a train station, about five mins away or less, and multiple convenience stores which helped with snacks after long days. Only thing to note is all three rooms are attached, so to get to the third room you must go through the first and second room. It wasn’t an issue for us but might be for those who want privacy. There was a bright exit sign in the first room which was bothersome the first night but we just covered it with a black shirt the next nights and it was fine. Overall would stay again.

Our stay at Kyoto was very enjoyable at Takeya Goa west. The fact that it's only one station away from Kyoto station, made it very accessible and easy to get to. The house was spotless and fully loaded with amenities and equipment that made it very easy to use. It had a well stocked kitchen with basic condiments to get you started immediately. Kazuya had provided a detailed manual on operating everything in the house which made life easy. Location was perfect- very close to 24hr supermarkets, drug stores and stations. A special mention to Kazuya and his proactive service. On the first day of the stay, I was facing difficultly in operating the rice cooker as it was displaying in Japanese. Kazuya immediately came over and helped me figure it out. He also took note of my special requests which really made things easy for us. Overall very happy to stay here and would definitely recommend it to others.
