Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Shimogyo Ward

Had a pleasant stay at this guest house. We truly experienced living in a traditional Japanese home with tatami, futon, and other authentic touches. We especially loved the backyard area—it was such a nice space to relax. The facilities were also very complete. However, we do have a few notes: some areas could benefit from a bit of renovation, and just a small suggestion—perhaps consider changing the “Staff Only” sticker on the front door to “Storage Room” to make it clearer for guests.

It’s a great place to stay when coming to visit, especially if you have a big group since there’s lots of room.

Haruka's apartment is situated very near Saiin-Station (5min walk) and its restaurants in a quite street. There is a supermarket 4min walk in the other direction. It is big with 2 bedrooms, a great bathroom, a washing-machine and everything you can need to cook in the tiny kitchen as well as spices, oil, tea, coffee... There are also brochures about Kyoto's attractions and a very interesting book about Japan's history. The best part of our stay at Haruka's House was to meet the owners (they live upstairs), who welcomed us as we arrived with many informations, japanese tea, fruits an sweats. As we left, the had looked for the train-connexions to our next destination and gave us nice advices as well as crackers for the trip. It was so nice, we felt at home from the first minute and we enjoyed so much their company. We even had the chance to borrow their bicycles to tour around Kyoto. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We definitely hope to come back!!!

By far the best stay during our trip to Japan. The accommodation was fun, well stoked, and well kept. We tried to spend as much time as possible in this stay, spinning the vinyl and relaxing. Only regret was we didn’t have more time. Highly recommend to all.

We had a great stay here! The space was clean and beautiful— simple and elegant. We loved it. Was a bit far from kyoto’s main areas— but just used uber. Loved the space!

LJ Inn was perfect - much more spacious than most Japanese Airbnbs. We really enjoyed the privacy of having our own building. The place itself is very clean, has updated and good appliances - we really liked the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. Yasushi is a very responsive, friendly and kind host. Would highly recommend!

Pretty good, 6 of us come over to play ~ This is the fourth time I've come to Kyoto.

We really liked the place, a traditional Japanese house. The house is old, you can tell from the creaking floorboards, but this makes the charm. There was everything to feel comfortable, very centrally located and quiet. We would recommend it to anyone and would love to come again.

We had a great time at this cozy house. Everything was neat and clean and we loved the relaxed suburban vibe. It is located a bit outside which is perfect when you don't want to be in the super touristy areas of the city, yet everything is easily reachable via Tambabashi Station which is close by. Inside this classic suburban house you'll find everything you'd expect including a modern washlet and nice modern bathroom which also has a washing machine. The hosts were responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay! It is giving a home vibe and the owner has provided everything we need. the place is neat and clean. the owner was nice and gave some toys to our kids, board games and cards that we can use to spend time.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. Our booking was in a townhouse like structure attached to a row of other houses but we heard nothing from any neighbors. It had one Western style bedroom on the first floor with a fully accessible bathroom (toilet and bathtub). 2 Japanese style bedrooms and another bathroom that's split: shower, sink washer and dryer in one room, toilet and sink in the other is on the second floor. An added bonus is a tv room with Wii games, a smart tv, and books in multiple languages. Our host Rachel was amazing, fluent in Japanese and English she was able to answer any questions we had, made great suggestions for how to tweak our itinerary to have things for more with insider local knowledge, communicated with Japanese only speakers on our behalf, and even had a cute friendly dog. Our experience was 10/10, fantastic.

One of the best experience in Kyoto. I stayed at Lan’s place for two nights, it was quite and comfortable, there are several coin parking lots nearby so it is very easy to park. Lan was very kind to us, he even brought some drink and he was always willing to help. Anyways, I strongly recommend this place to everyone who’s willing to travel and stay at Kyoto.

The detached house has good privacy, quiet, and convenient surrounding facilities. The subway is about 5-6 minutes away, and there is a 24-hour convenience store.Especially the Host was very friendly and welcoming!Will introduce Kyoto and recommend attractions, and also help with pick-up and drop-off ~ The house is very comfortable. If I come to Kyoto next time, I will stay here!

The place was really clean and comfortable, perfect to spend time with family and everything was within walkable distance, the station and restaurants were so close and staying here made you feel like a local

K/H did an amazing job as a host and making me feel welcome during my stay in Kyoto. Their clear directions made the stay seamless. Noise around the bnb was not as bad as expected ( rail line by the apartment), and it didn’t impact my sleep at all! Thanks again!

I can’t say enough great things about Uzu’s place. It was so clean and comfortable. When we checked in she was very thorough about the house and also about the surrounding areas and places to go. She had a great hand drawn map of the area that we actually used a lot! The traditional beds we chose to sleep in were very comfortable. Everything in the house is labeled which makes it very easy to find things. Uzu went out of her way to show us local restaurants and spots to try. She is a very friendly host that cares about making her guests stays very enjoyable! One thing we found was that it was a bit out of the way of central Kyoto. However, if you want to experience a quiet traditional neighborhood this is the spot! It’s about a 10 min walk to the closest train station or bus stop.
