Vacation rentals with a kayak in Rappahannock River

We LOVED our stay at Blue Pearl Cottage. It was clean, comfortable and cozy. Ben and Ashley thought of every detail how to meet guests' needs. The location is superb - peaceful and serene. LOVE the screened porch, as did our pooch - a perfect spot for him to hang out! Only wish we had more time there... hope to visit again.

What a great find! We loved our stay and enjoyed the special touches that made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend and will be back!

My family and I stayed here for a week for our family vacation. We are a group of 8 (6 adults and 2 kids) and there was plenty of room for all of us. We barely left the house because with the beautiful view, dock, beach area, canoe, kayaks, hot tub, game room/ library, corn hole, and fire pit we all had plenty to keep us entertained. Everyone loved Mary & Shelly’s place, and it provided the perfect space for us to enjoy the river and each other’s company!

This house is perfect for large groups. It is very spacious, with plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the dock taking in the serene natural beauty of the Creek and observing the local birdlife, including Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, and Bald Eagles. The house is situated very near to the entrance of Lookout Point State Park which we greatly enjoyed exploring on bicycles. Seeing a large wedge of Tundra Swans fly overhead was a special moment. If you want to spend some time relaxing in a beautiful setting in a beautiful and very interesting area with a large group, this house will serve you well.

We had a really nice stay at the Rose Retreat! The home is wonderfully appointed with nice furnishings. We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen with upscale drink and dinnerware. The hand written welcome note, bottle of wine and snacks were so thoughtful - thank you! A perfect location from which to enjoy Irvington and the surrounding towns. We hope to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the pool!

Our stay was very nice. The view is amazing and the house is open and spacious. We spent much of our time outside on the 2 tiered pier deck and enjoying the sun and fresh air. The kitchen and bathrooms are all done well. The high ceilings are nice , but make a noisy family like ours sound even louder, but hardly a reason not to return. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful and relaxing stay! Very clean and quite spacious home. Large well equipped kitchen area enough room for more than one cook for sure. Beautiful open living dining area. Basement adds a lot of living and hang out space. Bonus washer&dryer, bathroom, and books/games. Large 3 bedrooms with plenty of storage space. Comfy beds! There are 3 baths - one on each level. All that being said, the star of this home is all the outside space. Screened in eating area was terrific for meals (all our dinners) we cooked. Upper and lower decks with ample seating for a large group. Lawn with even more seating and fire pit. My personal favorite spot was the hot tub. Beautiful views from pretty much everywhere. We fished from the pier everyday. (Enough fish for dinner.) And we kayaked in the still bay. So relaxing. Everything right there made it so easy. Great place to reconnect with nature and your family/friends.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Crab Shack! It was convenient for our weekend plans and we loved having direct water/dock access.

Joyce has done a phenomenal job with this lake house. Everything has been thought through. The house actually looks even better than the pictures. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. And it is super clean. The kitchen is fully stacked with everything you would need ant home or away. Ample seasoned fire wood and starter sticks makes using their MASSIVE fire pit a breeze. The best part is she gives you access to both of their docks and you will not have to take your boat or kayak out of the water once. We kayak fished Johnson’s and Lacey’s with ease from her house. 100% coming back to stay again.

Lovely stay on the water! Mini beach is an added bonus. Great restaurants nearby!

I really loved the house we had a nice time and i most definitely will get it again and Tammy is wonderful. We you get there you will feel like home and the house have EVERYTHING that you would need the view is beautiful thumbs up for this house!!!

Perfect getaway for rest, relaxation and fun! Kayaks were fun, too breezy and chilly waters for paddle boarding, maybe next time! Beautiful location! Clean and comfortable, felt like home!

Had an amazing getaway weekend on Smith Island staying at Janet’s Cottage. Came by private boat from Pocomoke and stayed 2 nights. VERY easy boat access . Well protected and safe. Enjoyed the weekend walking around and exploring everything Smith Island has to offer. Highly recommend for a peaceful weekend getaway

I had an amazing stay for my wedding weekend. The view of the water was unbeatable and the brand new outdoor furniture was great! Heather was very responsive and it was overall a great place to stay!

We had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and relaxing—perfect for unwinding, even on the rainy days we had. The space was beautiful, cozy and calm. Gina was a great host—very responsive and proactive in checking in to make sure everything was going well.

Great place for a getaway! St. Michael’s is a wonderful town and so easy to get to from this lovely place! Was perfect location for our family ladies trip- plenty of space and just a quick trip down town to the shops and restaurants! - I think we’ll be back!

Much needed peaceful, private getaway!! Fun unique setting. Nice newly updated bathroom and kitchen were a great addition to the otherwise rustic ambience.

Pizza Friday was an amazing find! We spent a family reunion on the porch making pizza's in the oven. We obtained crusts from an Italian restaurant in California on our way and it proved to the perfect choice for us. We also enjoyed the dock and even caught a few crabs to show the kids. In addition we sat around the fire pit in the evenings. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean inside although we spent most of our time outside on the porch.

We were visiting family and sadly didn’t take advantage of many amenities but there was plenty to choose from! We were given info on activities for the week. The security and the receptionists were wonderful! We enjoy the lovely setting and our cabin, especially the hot tub. I want to come back again when we can explore more of what Wilderness Park has to offer. We will be back! Thank you!

It’s our second stay at Camp Maier and we are already planning to come back. As soon as we step in, we feel calmed by the view and the comfortable space. The place has had a fresh coat of paint since we were here last, and we appreciated the kitchen upgrades too. We loved pizza at Cryptic Pizza in Solomons Island and a walk with dogs at Flag Ponds nature park. Even found a small fossilized shark tooth! A magical time. Thank you.

This was our FOURTH year at Lighthouse Cove, and it was better than ever! This feels like home at the lake; warm and inviting with all needs covered, but clear of clutter. The forecast looked wet during our whole stay, but that quickly changed and we were out in the lake daily! The floating lily pad this year was a total game changer!! If you have kids def take advantage of it and the beach area/playground 2 doors over. The beds are extremely comfortable, and bathrooms well equipped with tons of towels and complimentary shampoo/wash. The second fridge is always utilized and the huge island and full length pantry are perfect for ALL the snacks! Toula is so sweet and responsive to any and all questions. She’s a fantastic host! Can’t wait for year #5!

We stayed at Katerina’s place for 6 nights while I was cleaning my aunts place out after moving her to assisted living. Her home was about 10 minutes from Katerina’s place, in Cartersville. The closest hotels are about 45m-1hr away in Farmville or Richmond. While it would have been a bit cheaper to stay at a hotel, I wasn’t looking forward to a 2 hr round trip every day, so I was lucky to find this place. The cabin has a beautiful view of the river. It was nice to have the hot tub to soak in after long, dusty days. Katerina was responsive to questions. The bed was a bit firm for our taste, but everyone has their own standards there. I got a chance to take a walk around the property and it’s lovely- very picturesque. Overall we had a nice stay, and if you are looking for seclusion, privacy, and peace, this has all those things. If you are looking for those things plus a modern aesthetic, you’ve found the place, hands down.
