We had such a magical fall getaway with our friends at Carriage Stone Farm! The historic house had so much charm, and the many different spaces (indoor and out) allowed for everyone to spread out comfortably. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer—we will definitely consider gathering again here or staying at one of Tony's other properties in the future.

Beautiful place, just what I needed to escape for a second. The place also smells pretty nice due to the cedar; my partner said it smelled a bit like animals but I really only smelled the feed/the grass in the bedroom. Absolutely loved the record player & the selection, and if I had just a bit more time I would’ve loved to go full zen and write some songs. Only real issue was the AC, but that’s just because I’m a walking furnace and need the area to always be about 65 and it was kind of an old fan system. Some doors don’t shut all the way, but they weren’t super essential so wasn’t too annoying. Saw some spiders and bees in the bathroom and kitchen, but they were clean, so I just think they wandered in. Happens in rural areas. would recommend bringing someone who can remove the bugs for you if you’re scared of them lol also the kindest hosts !! Super helpful and communicative.

I planned to propose to my girlfriend over a romantic farm and Shenandoah getaway weekend. Andrea was very excited and helped make the weekend really special. The grounds were amazing and so beautiful with trails to take walks on and many animals to see. We brought our puppy and we had plenty of space to safely let him off leash to run around. He had as much fun as we did (and we got engaged!) Her restaurant recommendations were spot on, so definitely give those a try. We did the farm tour on the last day, and it was so personal, interactive and informative. Do not skip the tour!!! Andrea was so kind and generous with us. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We had a wedding to go to in Louisa, VA and we were so happy with how close Apryl’s place was to cute coffee shops, downtown Gordonsville, winery’s and Charlottesville. It was in the perfect location for us. Apryl was fast in her responses which I appreciated and was quick to help us when our key code had run out, she fixed it in minutes so we were back in the cozy studio asap. It was fun to wake up in the morning and see chickens running around and hearing the stirring of the farm first thing in the morning. Don’t worry though if listening to the rooster crow in the morning isn’t your thing there is a sound machine in the room which was an added bonus. It is a spacious place for a few nights, just remember it is a working farm so Apryl’s children and others will be out and about during the day. But they were so kind but not overbearing either. I will be recommending Apryl’s place to anyone looking for a place that’s close to everything but peaceful.

We loved our stay at Sarah’s place! She put in a lot of effort to make sure we felt right at home. After a long trip walking into a beautifully decorated place with a fire (electric), Christmas lights, cookies, and spinning disco ball was so perfect for me and my kids :). My daughter wanted to collect eggs from their chicken coop and Sarah and her family made that happen for her. We loved petting and feeding the alpacas every morning. Everything was very comfortable. 10/10 experience. Thank you Sarah and family!

My family stayed for an extended weekend and the place was within driving distance of amazing hikes (including along the river in Luray.) It is quiet and has a beautiful downstairs bathroom/powdering room. This place is excellent for kids. Yard is large with a playground and there are many toys for them to play with. Aaron also has equipment for toddler proofing as well as a pack N play. Would love to stay again.

I can't thank Karyn enough for her hospitality! I was coming from nyc and this cottage was such a welcome change from the hustle and bustle. I appreciated the gorgeous views. Honestly the outdoors really meant a lot to us. We lounged by the fire and had lots of laughs! We also really enjoyed the farm fresh eggs and the coziness of the cottage itself. There was also access to everything you need (grocery, coffee shops, stores) about 15 mins away! It was just perfect!
