Vacation rentals with a kayak in Périgord

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

We stayed for 5 nights and it was very nice. The small playground was great for our child, the location is wonderful and you are quickly in the city. Everything you need is there and it is very cozy and harmoniously furnished. Clean and comfortable bed. Nice and quiet to relax. We will be happy to come back. Thanks so much

Excellent family stay in the Bugue cottage; the place is perfect for getting together. Excellent communication with Marc, whose many sightseeing tips were much appreciated. Recommended!

It was a beautiful place to stay. The beds were good and everything you needed for the stay was there. The bathroom needs an update but the shower was good. The garden and pool were phantastic. The big fridge was a plus. We had a wonderful stay.

Warm house and very nice place in the quiet countryside. Very nice and responsive host. I recommend 😉 it without hesitating!!!! For a relaxing holiday in peace Plenty of activities and tours to do and really beautiful villages to visit 😍

Peaceful and pleasant, I had a very nice stay with my children. Vast and secure. I was pleasantly surprised to see that all the amenities were very well maintained and allowed the children to walk safely. There's a variety of things to do. I highly recommend it!

Large and beautiful apartment, in addition to being full of memories from Pierre Loti's stays. Very well located for visiting this part of Lot. ... but, after the end-of-year celebrations, don't count on restaurants to enjoy Périgord cuisine, they are almost all closed during this period.

An absolutely stunning location - the views across the Aveyron gorge from the villa are amazing. Celia was immensely helpful as was her partner Peter - we had numerous delays due to ferry sailing times and traffic but Peter was on hand to welcome us. Peter and Celia have a wealth of local knowledge and Najac's reputation is well justified. The villa is within walking distance of all the town's amenities and is brilliantly equipped. It was also spotless when we arrived - you'd never know that anyone else had even been there. We would thoroughly recommend the villa and Celia and Peter are superb hosts.

Great place. very cocooning. Tastefully decorated. Pascale is a very welcoming host. We had a lovely weekend with our 2 dogs despite very rainy weather. We will definitely come back with a better time to be able to enjoy the terrace☺️...

We had a wonderful week at La Tuilerie Grange. David and Caroline provided a warm welcome. The photos on the site are already beautiful, but if you see the estate with the gardens, the terraces and the swimming pool in one word it is fantastic. Well worth experiencing it for yourself. Very good hosting! Emilie and her husband are very understanding and flexible:) Discreet but always available if needed. We had a lovely time despite winter weather ❄️ I recommend it! Attention a lot of single beds but possibility to paste them:)

We had an wonderful time. The house was great and the garden is huge with an orchard in the next field which we could access. It is an absolutely beautiful place. We were made to feel very at home by Laetitia, Thierry and family (they were in the main house for some days of our stay and the rest of the time we were alone on the vast property). They were extremely generous about letting us use games and canoes etc and could not have been more welcoming to us. The surrounding area is very beautiful and peaceful. The river is nearby and there are lots of possible areas for swimming as well as walking. We really enjoyed visits to Angouleme and Cognac and other pretty villages. Most of all we enjoyed sitting in the garden reading and relaxing and going running in small largely deserted roads around the house. It was a really lovely holiday and I would definitely recommend this highly and fully hope to go back again.

David and Caroline were fabulous hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived at their beautiful property. It was lovely to have a selection of local products, including a bottle of wine, upon our arrival. They explained everything clearly and were always available if we needed any help or had questions. The pictures do not do this property justice. The chateau itself is super charming, comfortable, and is equipped with absolutely everything you could ever need while on holiday. The fact that there was AC in the bedroom was a very welcome surprise as well. The grounds are immaculately maintained and it was delightful to just sit on the varanda and watch the birds while listening to the distant sound of running water. We can’t say enough positive things about our stay - we would absolutely recommend it and can’t wait to go back.

A stunning location and a great place to relax with family and friends. Peaceful river running behind the house that can be explored with boats and kayaks, very close to the town center- 15 mins by bike. Bicycles well maintained. Ron was a friendly host with great recommendations for local markets.

We had a wonderful stay with our two dogs. Ben made us very welcome, greeting us on arrival and showed us around the property explaining where everything was. The gardens were large and safe and secure for the dogs to roam. We also loved using the private smaller garden attached to the cottage for relaxation. The pool area was well kept and looked inviting but it was too cold to use. The location was very rural and peaceful with a short drive needed to visit boulangerie and restaurants. Ben provided a very detailed information pack with super recommendations for eating out and takeaway pizza. We used one of Ben's canoes to explore the Dordogne and he helpfully drove us to the start and picked us up afterwards. The house was perfect with everything provided and a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. Some care was needed to access the upstairs bedroom due to limited headroom on the stairs. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay.

Well equipped and well maintained accommodation, peaceful place and beautiful scenery. We slept very well and quietly. Beautiful walks to do in the area.

A dream setting, wonderful accommodation, very high quality amenities and in an impeccably clean condition and a more than attentive welcome... and in addition, everything has been thought out and homemade by the owners. Everything was perfect, and even more than that. We highly recommend it for anyone who would like to have a memorable stay.

We loved every moment of switching off at LaCabane and embracing the peaceful surroundings. The space is beautifully designed and well thought out, with everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. The visits from the dogs and ducks, a bonus! A special thank you to Stephanie, who was a wonderful host.

The accommodation is very well equipped, clean and comfortable. There are plenty of animals to observe and approach, which made the kids happy. Many games are available, it's really a little paradise for families! The owners are adorable, available when needed but very discreet. The hot tub and pool, reserved just for us, were just great. We'll be happy to come back!
