I had a refreshing stay, enjoying a break from city life in this charming, traditional village setting. The house itself is an old, beautifully preserved structure, offering an authentic experience. A few things to note: the property is situated on a hill above the road, so if you're arriving by car, it's important to coordinate with the caretaker in advance. The food here is delicious and reasonably priced. The caretaker is attentive, checking in regularly to ensure everything is in order. However, there is a bit of a mosquito issue, so be sure to bring some repellent. Overall, a very unique and interesting place to stay!

Nilambur is a very beautiful place unfortunately we had rains so couldn't visit tourist spots.... but we were amply compensated by the stay.... spacious, open & clean flat nestled amongst the greens of Nilambur... excellent place to stay and taken care by a gracious and extremely helpful host... if we come back to Nilambur we know where to stay

Our stay at Kalikavu has been the highlight of our 3 week trip exploring South India and loved by everyone in our group of 8 people - children and grown ups alike. The lush surroundings of rubber, betel nut and coconut trees and colourful plants with the mountains seen in the distance made it a perfect place to relax and take in nature. We all wish we could have stayed longer. Louis, Riyas and the ladies who prepared delicious meals for us were really helpful and made our stay very special. Particular thanks to Riyas who took us on a walk to the hidden waterfall where we all enjoyed a refreshing swim. We would definitely recommend Kalikavu to anyone wanting to explore Silent Valley and enjoy the beauty the valley has to offer.

🥰🥰 Easily one of the most magical stays I’ve ever booked. Imagine waking up surrounded by rivers, waterfalls, and misty forests—this place is a nature dream. The rooms were super clean and cozy, the view is unmatched, and the vibe is just chef’s kiss. We were traveling with both kids and elderly family, and everything felt safe and comfortable. Special shoutout to the host on-ground who helped us with everything from kattan chai to a classic Kerala breakfast. We’ll 100% be back There is private river and waterfall access but you need to be careful and try not to get in during rainy season. We visited in June so the access during the monsoon can be difficult. One stretch of the road had water flowing across it like a shallow stream. It’s manageable with the right vehicle and an experienced driver—but do plan accordingly. Still, the destination more than makes up for the journey. We left feeling rested and recharged.
