Vacation rentals with a kayak in Iowa

We had a weekend get together with somebody coming from the Twin Cities, Janesville and Sioux City….Cedar Falls was right in the middle. The house provided lots of visiting space and great amenities. It was a little too brisk to be out on the patio around a fire at night but as the house is located right on a river that would be perfect too. Loved having the shuffleboard, foosball and beanbag games as well. Loved it and would definitely stay here again.

Another wonderful stay with our kids and grands! Beautiful home and the owners are very responsive and kind. Will definitely be back again!

This was my first time visiting Iowa. The visit was on a sad occasion. Jamie's place was so beautiful and peaceful. So much so that my fiancee and are planning a happier occasion trip here solely because of Jamie's place. Great job don't change a thing.

We loved our stay! It was perfect for a weekend getaway. We came to relax and this was the perfect place. We loved the location where we can hangout outside or inside. You can fish off the dock and bring the boat up to the dock. Sarah was super friendly and responsive. Would definitely recommend this stay!

Second time staying. Love how peaceful it is. Great place to get away from everything, yet close enough to places to eat or shop.

This is a beautiful place! It works great for families. The grandkids enjoyed playing in the sand on the beach and running around the backyard. The firepit was perfect! Everyone enjoyed roasting marshmallows and making smores. We got to see wildlife - squirrels, cranes, geese, ducks, raccoons and a very friendly cat that came to sit by the deck door which all of the kids enjoyed. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay with the family for a getaway weekend! Each of them said what a nice place it was and so roomy. I even had a granddaughter ask this morning if we could go back to the "lake house". Thank you for sharing it with us!

We loved the location. We had a big group and there was room for everyone. We are talking about when we can go back.

Great place to spend time with friends and family. Big advantage is you rest room for all 6bedrooms. Host is really responsive & home is clean with all amenities in place. Do miss the place in summer.

Talk about last minute booking and an amazing host❤️❤️❤️. Our stay was more than we ever hoped for. Milk House is a very unique Airbnb. We loved our stay and all the extras. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this was by far the most hospitality. Love the fresh eggs, coffee and the farm animals. The location was prefect. We biked during the day and return to a nice quiet/relaxing place. Thank you for creating a beautiful place to sure with the world❤️ Brian and Janis

We had a great stay at Spirit Lake at Mama's Boathouse. The place was easy to find and the hosts quickly responded with any questions that we had. Beds were comfortable. It was a great place to cool off after spending all day in the heat.

Olivia is such a great host! There are so many amenities that are not offered other places. So beautiful!

Tatia was incredibly responsive. In every communication, Tatia was quick to respond and pleasant. She also reached out with considerate suggestions.

Jeff was great to work with. The place worked very well for us - we were there for a sailing competition and had a small motorboat that we used to support that that we kept on the pier. It’s extremely sheltered for that which was particularly great on this trip since a big storm came through one night and I would have been very worried about my boat on the main lake. It would have been nice to have some more chairs on the deck (there are 4) and at the island (there are 3) for breakfast, but that is minor and otherwise the house is well set up and works great as a base of operations for the area. There are indeed 3 real bedrooms as the description list. Often hosts will call something a bedroom that isn’t and we thought that might be the case here from the pictures, but you can trust this description. House is recently renovated inside, and Jeff made a special effort to work with us on questions we had as well as to be sure we were fully satisfied! Great few days.

What a great place! Plenty of room and well furnished. Spotlessly clean. My 90 year old grandparents were even able to visit and have dinner with us with all the living area on the first floor. The lake was a wonderful backdrop for photos and relaxing to sit and watch the waves. In April it was a bit too chilly to enjoy any watersports!

This was the perfect place to enjoy Big Spirit Lake! The home was peaceful, clean, and comfortable with an amazing view of the lake. We felt right at home and enjoyed the deck, fire pit, and launching paddle boards from the dock. The area was quiet and nice to have the bike trail nearby for walking. Shelley sent us timely and helpful information for checking in and out and was available for any questions. We’re grateful for the use of their lovely home and hope to come back again.

Our stay was very well organized and had easy directions to follow. We really enjoyed the quiet cabin/lake weekend and will possibly be looking to return in the future, during a warmer month. Darrel was our host and he was very kind and welcoming. Overall a very nice stay.

Everything was as expected, Jeremy was very informative. Fast to answer any questions and very accommodating to our girls wrestling team. We would definitely rebook if he would have us again thank you.

Our party of five adults stayed at Andy's place for a birthday weekend and had a great time. The cabin and surroundings are as described ~ clean, unique, private, quiet. We kayaked and fished in the pond and ate our meals on the deck; we loved the outdoor spaces and appreciated having the kayaks and the fire pit available. We traveled to Elkader and Decorah during the days. The cabin was just the right place to come back to.

We had a fabulous time here. The house is fun, roomy, clean and comfortable. We were visiting my granddaughter and the house was perfect to hang out and enjoy family time. Highly recommend!

We had the BEST time. The cabin and acreage were breathtaking. Our kids had a blast playing, fishing, catching frogs and more. The cabin was small but perfect for our needs, we loved the porch overlooking the view. The kitchen/bathroom are very small (historic property!) but well equipped. Cabin stayed pretty cool even in the heat of the day, but A/C is there if you need it. We would totally visit again! Hosts were very responsive and friendly!

I am so happy we chose to stay here!This sweet little place was clean,smelled good,and had all the things we needed for a weekend getaway. It was decorated cute and i appreciated the fall decorations too. Quiet and private but close enough to do all our excursions in Prarie du Chien,Marquette and Mcgregor.Genna was very communicative and I cannot wait to come back and stay again in the future.Weather was perfect and it was a great,relaxing,and memorable stay!

A true five-star experience. The place was clean, had everything we needed, and was in a great location. We had three generations of family ages 21-70 and everyone had what they needed. We even used the water park passes on a rainy day. 😄
