Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Gudbrandsdalen

Our stay here was incredible. We booked for 4 people but this place could easily accommodate 8. The place was clean and tidy and offered everything we needed and more, with beautiful surroundings and a private and authentic feel. Things like extra towels, a pantry with some basic items like rice and pasta, food in the freezer and an easy to use washing machine and dryer really made us feel well looked after. We stayed when temperatures were between -10 and -18 Celsius but the house always felt cosy. The nearest Ski bus stop is a 7-10 minute walk away and the nearest supermarket and ‘town’ area are a 25 minute walk away. If you enjoy walking then the location is fine but we opted to hire a car from the airport to use for our transfers which I would highly recommend. This made collecting ski hire, shopping and travelling to the different slopes much easier as there is lots of parking areas. 10/10 stay. I have already recommended to friends and family.

Nice with a sledding hill right by the house. Adults and children enjoyed themselves. Recommended for families who will experience everything little hammer has to offer, would love to come back :)

We enjoyed the house very much. It is very large and lovingly decorated and very well equipped. The seats on the terrace are also very nice, as is the view of the fjord. You can reach Sogndal in a few minutes by car, where there are many shopping opportunities. Tom and Kari are wonderful hosts. We would definitely book the house again.

Inger’s place was perfect for our family! We enjoyed the abundant natural light coming in the great big windows, the wood burning fireplace, the sauna (which Inger’s husband Knut graciously helped us get going, then shared interesting information about the history and unique ecological features of the area), and the river views. It’s conveniently located 12 minutes from downtown Lillehammer, making our Birken weekend convenient!

The place was just as listed and a cozy home to have stayed in. Ann Iren was responsive and helpful when we had one issue that was resolved. Very helpful with parking as we were able to park our car right across the public rest stop for free. The only thing I would say is the hair dryer was an older model and quite weak that would overheat quickly. You also need to connect outside the bathroom as there was no outlet to use it (so no mirror when you go elsewhere). Otherwise, highly recommend if you're staying in Aurland. Also just a 5 min walk to the local Spar grocery store and bakery!

Marit’s home is in a lovely location overlooking the lake with mountains in the background. We spent the week skiing at Hafjell which was about 25 mins easy drive from the house. The house is lovely, comfortable and spacious and filled with light. Also extremely cosy and well insulated! We cooked most of our meals in the excellent kitchen and i can’t think of anything we lacked! We all slept very well and our kit dried very quickly in the toasty utility room. Marit was very helpful in recommending local restaurants and activities and we were very sad that tobogganing was cancelled because it got too warm! Overall a great family home in an excellent location with a very welcoming host. Thank you Marit!

What a spacious, quiet place. We felt very comfortable and found everything we needed. Everything is well organized! We weren't so lucky with the weather, but it would be a good starting point for hikes. We were in Andalsnes in the climbing museum and fishing. And later we drove further north on the Atlantic Road, was a great experience! Thank you for the hospitality!

This was our 4th time staying here. We were two families with children ages 10-13. The kids love the place. We follow us like home. Very convenient location

The best location for awesome skiing. The apartment has everything you want and need. Will definitely be back.

It was a great stay for halfway between Oslo and Bergen. Roomy and kitchen was well stocked with essentials.

Morten’s place is in the best location in Geiranger - very close to all the major shops and restaurants, walkable distance to the water and boats while still being quiet and private.

Nice apartment, good location with ski-in/ski-out access. Hosts were superb, friendly and helpful and communicated well.

Well situated and very comfortable

We felt right at home. The house is beautifully situated above Favang with a great view. We were greeted nicely and had everything we needed. Communication with Julia was excellent. We had enough wood for the stove to make ourselves comfortable. We were able to spend a nice week skiing. For cross-country skiing, Hafjell is better suited and also only 30 minutes away. We will be happy to come back.

Condo was close to the village so driving is necessary. Access to the alpine slopes is walkable although it was late in the season and conditions were limited. Condo was large and easily accommodated our party of eight. Kitchen was good and dining area seated our party. The four bedrooms were clean and comfortable. We did need to rent linen and towels which the caretaker facilitated. Our party agreed that we would rent here again

The cabin has everything you need for a larger group of people. Really close to the slopes and even reachable by public transport (and a small walk 😄).

We had a great weekend at Harald's apartment. Everything was as good as expected. New and nice apartment with everything you need. Nice with basic items and very nice to not have to pack linens and towels. Harald responded quickly to messages.

Very central, spacious and cozy apartment. The host was on, and responded quickly as well as following up on the requests we had throughout our stay.

This studio is really lovely, thought of every detail and you feel really welcome. We spent 4 days between Christmas and New Year, and the apartment was nicely decorated, even the hand soap smelled like Christmas. Really lovely duvets and pillows with nice warm linens. The apartment is a short distance to Hafjell alpine center and with ski locker rentals under the gondola, the studio worked perfectly for 4 days skiing for 2 adults and 2 children (12 and 14).

Awesome place located within Fyri resort. Closely connected to hotel via hallway directly into hotel lobby. Place looks even better than the pictures. Will stay again.
