Evening and Sunday open grocery store Mesnali 3 min. Bed linen and towels can be rented and must be pre-booked - price NOK 250/£20/€25 per set. Feel free to bring your own. Here you are in nature with a rich animal and bird life. At the same time you have easy access to alpine resorts, lovely cross country tracks, shops and many great restaurants. In the summer there are great hiking and biking trails and a short way to large family attractions such as Hunderfossen and Lilleputthammer

The summer barn at Hovelsrud, Helgøya

The old summer barn of Hovelsrud Gård is idyllically located between Mjøsa and a rolling grain field – a simple and unique place for those who want to get close to nature and enjoy the tranquility of Helgøya. The house is best suited for a couple or a small family with up to two children. Inside there is a bedroom and an open living room. Outside there is a kitchen counter, with a gas burner and barbecue, a small beach with swimming opportunities and an outdoor toilet. There is no electricity.

Great view of Jotunheimen, Rondeslottet, Hunderfossen, and Fakkelmannen. Hunderfossen, Barnas gård, Lilleputthammer are only a short drive away on good roads. Short distance to all amenities. Approx. 30 min walk or 5 min drive from Gaia with convenience store, sports shop, bike rental and restaurants. 5 min walk to local pub that is open seasonally.
