Fitness-friendly vacation rentals in Bahía Ballena

A group of 7 of us recently stayed at Shannon’s place for a birthday weekend and it did not disappoint. The concierge team, Jordan & Adrian, gave great recommendations and helped us plan our stay and excursions. We booked the shuttle, car delivery service and the private chef for one night. The views were breathtaking and the bedrooms were comfortable, we had no complaints. Our group will definitely be back in the future.

lovely apartment, beautiful setting, quiet and relaxing. Laundry facilities and pool much appreciated. 15 min walk to National Park entrance, 5 mins walk to bakery and closest cafe. Would happily stay again if in Uvita. Local help from Milena invaluable, she was very responsive

We had a great time and the place is beautiful. The space was impeccably clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay and more. Communication with Mckay was smooth, and he went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, even offering great recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities. Spectacular site in nature

This is a stunning place. You basically live in the jungle, with fantastic views and wild animals (Coati, Toucans, huge toads, monkeys) to watch from the living room or bedroom. Perfect to wind down. Thanks to the additional bug-proof doors, you can leave the glass doors open and it feels like sleeping in a jungle. The house is equipped with all cooking gear, but bring your own spices and food. The pool is lovely and of course a favorite for our kids. We also loved the nicely tended garden. Oscar and Esteban are excellent hosts - always available for any questions, helpful with tips and very friendly. As mentioned in other reviews, the road indeed is somewhat challenging (very steep and long, only manageable with 4x) , so this is a place to stay and not the best basis for short trips down and up. I f you follow this (i.e. if we recommend doing the trip down to the sea not too often and bring food for several days). If you follow this advice, you are in for a treat.

This place is a paradise. Off the beaten track in the supremely beautiful surrounding forested hills. The accommodation accentuates the tranquillity of the surroundings, with everything thoughtfully designed. Spotless and very comfortable, we had a very happy stay here. Matt and Megan were very helpful and welcoming. You can tell that they love the place and have made beautiful accommodations and gardens. We also loved the pool and pool area, again very nicely furnished. We saw Toucans, humming birds, frogs and Crested Guans. It was so peaceful. There was one other family staying in the nearby stand alone villa next door during part of our stay and there was plenty of space and privacy to share the gardens and pool. There is plenty to do in the local area like Nauyaca Waterfalls and Dominical is close by. We were tempted to bring our robust 2x4 car but we were glad we listened to the advice to have a 4x4 as the driveway needs it. All in all great value and a real highlight. Thank you!

Amazing! We’ve done this trip in various locations across costa rica and Brian’s place was by far the best, especially for larger groups. The dreamy outdoor kitchen had all the best appliances and tools you could ever need. The pool and lounge area felt like what you would experience at a high end resort. The music hookup and lighting at night was perfect for relaxing and breathtaking sunsets and nighttime conversations. Some of us could even get in a morning workout given the great gym area available and would end it with a cold plunge. I literally can’t think of anything else we could ever need! Beyond being an absolute paradise, Brian went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure we were comfortable. It’s rare these days that the host is as invested in their guests’ experience as Brian, and it’s clear that he really wants his guests to feel at home and welcome. He always promptly answered any questions and was eager to help and give recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful home on a little neighborhood street that doesn’t get much traffic, and has lush greenery all around. We enjoyed preparing meals in the well appointed kitchen, relaxing on the upper patio in the hammock in fresh flowing air. Our host Ana Grace was wonderful: she made every effort to communicate well and help our stay be a good one.

The Happiness/Gratitude house with accompanying Zen Dojo/Studio is an amazing mountain retreat for anyone interested in blissful relaxation and spiritual self-realization. our group of four Yogis had an absolute blast at this "pocket of magic" tucked away in the most pristine and scenic mountain side of Costa Rica. the Zen Dojo is a great space for stretching and meditation. The house has an open design so you can sleep as close to the stars as possible. pure magic! we all agreed this retreat is the place to be and to return to. Highly recommend for anyone seeking the best of Costa Rica 'pure' living.
