This beautiful cabin offers privacy, nature and canals on both sides, yet is only 1.5 miles (2.4km) from town and a 40 minute train ride to Amsterdam. This cabin was hand built with love & care and it is a pleasure to share it with guests from all around the world. As the Miller of this windmill, I enjoy giving my guests a complimentary tour whenever possible.

On the ground floor is the hippest restaurant in Alkmaar with a sunny terrace on the water.

At the end of a dead-end road at the bottom of the dike overlooking the "Eilandspolder" nature reserve and a 5-minute walk from the "de Havik" mill, hidden between the reeds and right on the ring canal, is the "De Smid" vacation home. 30-minute drive from Amsterdam Noord. 30-minute drive from the Noord Zeestrand.
