Earth house vacation rentals in Alajuela Province

This was definitely a splurge stay for me - but SO worth it! Out of our entire one-week Costa Rican visit, this was our FAVORITE lodging! This place is so much more than a place to sleep - it's an experience too! We loved star gazing, seeing the morning rainbows, and just how cool the home was. Virgillo made you feel like you were a guest in his family home, he was an awesome host! 11/10 would recommend for anyone hoping to see a different, less "touristy" side of the area, and feel part of the surrounding nature!

Juan Carlos and his charming family are extraordinary hosts. The house that they have painstakingly built together and the garden it sits in pays homage to the fact that they are truly authentic artists. The house is a masterpiece of courage, confidence and dedicated vision. This discipline is reflected in Juan’s paintings too. He has worked hard for decades honing his craft and has reached a status of rare accomplishment, while retaining an air of genuine humility and graciousness. The World needs more people of this ilk and therefore I would encourage anyone interested in art and a free spirited lifestyle to visit their unique and beautiful home where the indoors and the outdoors live symbiotically in perfect harmony.

Le logement était exactement ce à quoi on s’attendait après avoir consulté l’annonce et les commentaires des invités précédents. Anjelica est une hôte exemplaire, attentionnée, ouverte d’esprit et ses déjeuners sont succulents. Elle nous permettait d’utiliser sa cuisine extérieure, ce qui nous permettait de passer de belles soirées en nature. La terrasse du cottage a une vue époustouflante sur la vallée.

David hat uns herzlich empfangen und uns die Unterkunft gezeigt. Die Unterkunft ist gut ausgestattet und es ist die erste Unterkunft, die einen Kompost hat. Den Fitnessraum haben wir zwar nicht genutzt, aber auch er war sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Unterkunft liegt ca. 30 Minuten zu Fuss vom Zentrum entfernt. Die Gegend ist ruhig und hat eine Dschungelatmosphäre. Die Kommunikation mit David war sehr gut. Wir können die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen und würden wiederkommen.

We feel so blessed to have experienced Kristopher and Marie’s one-of-a-kind Airbnb accommodation. It is thoughtfully curated for those who are seeking an authentic experience nestled amongst Monteverde’s symbolic cloud forest. From the moment we arrived, they spared no expense in making us feel right at home by explaining all the features and amenities, providing us with a reservoir of information on local activities and for always being accessible. The inclusive daily breakfast was deliciously unforgettable, especially the homemade sourdough avocado toast and açaí bowl. We slept like babies every night and relished the breathtaking views. Marie also offers a morning yoga class which was the perfect way to start off the day. We genuinely enjoyed every second and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to be immersed with nature.

Super accommodatie, alles was fijn inorde en verzorgd. Als we nog eens naar Costa rica gaan komen we hier zeker terug! Dankjewel Ria en Silke 😊

Genaro’s place was just as pictured. Great location and walkable to several restaurants. Close to attractions like rope swing, Fortuna waterfall, hot springs, and more. The host was very responsive, and we even got a couples massage within a couple hours of requesting it. Would recommend!!

Fantastic way to end the celebration of 40 years of marriage. The Hobbit House was just like Tolkien would have wanted it!!

The setup is very cute! The Rio Celeste is a super short walk from the Airbnb. It felt like a private sanctuary in nature. All to ourselves. Loved it!
