Woodpecker Cottage (Dog Friendly)

LianeRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Peter and Hilary were very friendly and approachable with good local knowledge. Woodpecker cottage was beautiful it was spotless and had everything we could possibly have wanted, the welcome pack was perfect and much appreciated as we had traveled so far. The village was lovely and quiet, well situated to visit the Lake District and the Pennines. The village pub was a two minute walk and served good food, the local shop was a five minute drive away and was well stocked. On Hilary’s recommendation we tried the bakery in a nearby village it was fantastic. Thank you Peter and Hilary for a fabulous stay in a wonderful cottage.

The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the Annex had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. My two children absolutely loved it and are now dreaming of living on a farm! Modern newly built annex in village location

AnneRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Gorgeous place to stay - we were here for two days, and it was perfect. I'm disabled and have mobility problems, and this was such an easy place to stay. It's super accessible with a walk in shower and very easy to get around. Loved it. We were here to see family and everything was perfect. It's probably the cleanest place I've ever stayed on Air BnB, and we felt very welcome. The milk in the fridge was such a lovely touch because we got there late on Friday. Really well equipped and lovely place. Would very highly recommend. Karen was a lovely host, very responsive and made us feel very welcome. Thank you so much!

Bolehill View the perfect Derbyshire Dales getaway

BarbaraRating, 5 stars5 days ago
My husband and I stayed at Bolehill View for a week and it was a good base to visit local towns and attractions. The accommodation was lovely, clean, good decor and with all the amenities we needed. We especially liked sitting in the lounge, overlooking the garden and it was very peaceful. Wirksworth itself is a lively town with a number of good restaurants. Jenny, our host, contacted us now and then to check we had everything we needed and left us some goodies for when we arrived. We would highly recommend a stay at Bolehill View.

Bright & pretty stone built lodge - dog friendly

KateRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Claire's place was absolutely fantastic. We've been fortunate to stay at a number of Airbnbs over the years, and Claire's stands out as one of the best. Everything was well-thought out, with so many considerations such the plug socket and USBs by the bed, sewing kit in the bathroom, we'll equipped kitchen and bits and bobs for dogs. The place itself was very quiet and peaceful within easy reach of popular towns in the Peak district (just a few minutes away from Matlock). We loved sitting out in the private courtyard and double doors leading to the courtyard from the bedroom were an added bonus. Beforehand Claire sent comprehensive instructions and recommendations on places to eat and visit, which was incredibly helpful and thoughtful. Overall, we cannot fault this place and highly recommend to others!

Beautiful place in the heart of Derbyshire

ElizeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I had a really wonderful stay. James was incredibly responsive, replying to my late-evening enquiry within minutes. Clear instructions made check-in easy, even late at night. I arrived to find the cottage warm and welcoming, with the heater and heated towel rails on. On the colder evenings, the air conditioning unit worked really well to warm up the space quickly. I was a bit unsure about the sofa bed, but it turned out to be really comfortable and I slept very well! I didn’t spend much time at the cottage, but waking up to stunning countryside views each morning was such a treat - it felt like being on a farm. The cottage had everything I needed for my 6-night stay and was the perfect base to explore from, with convenient parking right by the main house and a few steps to the cottage. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower. The entire cottage was spotless! A special thanks to the host for lending me a camping chair for my son’s cricket match. Highly recommended!

The Annexe

NickyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mick’s lovely annexe, the photos really don’t do it justice. Everything you can possibly need and more in the kitchen with some thoughtful additions like milk, bread, butter, fruit and cereal. The bathroom was lovely and one of the best showers I’ve had. Plenty of fresh towels and bed linen which is always a bugbear in most AirB&B’s. It’s a a sizeable place and nicely heated which was welcome. Mick was very responsive and we will certainly be back if we are up that neck of the woods again.
