Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Western North Carolina

We had a wonderful stay at this “Slow Pace” Airbnb with our children and two dogs! The home was comfortable and inviting, with a fantastic backyard that we all enjoyed. The living room was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the location couldn’t have been better—we loved being able to walk downtown and appreciated the easy access to Montreat. Another great perk was the nearby mom-and-pop convenience store, where we could easily pick up extra drinks and snacks. It was close enough that the kids could even walk over by themselves, which was a nice bonus! The hosts were thoughtful in every detail, from providing plenty of coffee for our entire stay to the extra special touch of a bottle of wine waiting for us on our first night. We would absolutely stay here again!

Everything was perfect for the week that we stayed.

We enjoyed our stay but wished there was a keurig coffee maker there as the coffee maker was a little complicated as I’ve not used one in so long lol 😆 but everything else was top notch !! We also enjoyed the new fire pit area, very nice !! Game room was the funnest part of our trip too! We didn’t get to enjoy the hot tub as the weather was too cold during our trip !

Erin was a great host! She was very communicative throughout our stay. We got in late at night and all the lights were on, with fresh eggs and bread waiting for us. Such a nice touch. Her place was very clean and comfortable. She had tons of toys in the spare room, which our daughter loved. The front porch is so charming with all the flowers in bloom. I really enjoyed my stay at Heather's place. I stayed there for a good, long while because I was escaping the snowy North. I had everything I needed and any time I had questions or was in need of something Heather was super quick to reply. The house was clean and comfortable. I loved the fenced backyard. The location is really pretty perfect. It's so close to good food, shopping, hiking, mountain biking and so many other activities! But what really made it a 5 star stay was Heather. She is a wonderful host. She's very friendly and easy to talk to. She's also thoughtful and kind. I can't say enough good things about her and about the stay.

This is the second time I’ve stayed here and both times were great. Chad was very helpful and allowed us to check in a little early. Just a great place to stay during my trip and I will continue to stay there

We loved our stay - it was perfect for our group with young kids. The large kitchen/dining area especially felt very open. Chad was very responsive both before and during our stay.

Great spacious house in a nice neighborhood. Appeared like listing, everything we needed was available on site. Close to restaurants and a park.

Perfect place to stay with a baby. Gabrielle offered a pack n play crib, a baby bathtub, towels, books, and toys - all of this made travel to Weaverville so much easier. Great home!

We have been to many AirBnbs over the years. We can say without hesitation that this was the most comfortable place we have ever been to. The space was super comfy, well appointed, in a quiet residential neighborhood, but within a few blocks of Greensboro shopping. We went out to a couple of great restaurants, the Green Valley Grill for dinner and Mimi's for breakfast. The zoo is awesome. If we are ever in this area again, this is the place we will choose. Cheryl was there to greet us and made us feel so welcome. The apartment was very spacious, clean, and had everything we could have possibly needed. Highly recommend if staying in the area.

This place was beautiful, clean and cozy! I loved the kitchen appliances, they mirrored mine at home, as red is my favorite color and they were all red. I enjoyed the coffee and tea that were available. The place is immaculate.! This host thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. I was impressed to see that there were several boardgames available so if you did not feel like watching TV, you could enjoy some games. There was even a high chair and playpen in case you had a baby with you. I highly recommend this place and hope it is available next time I visit North Carolina. I left with a smile on my face :)

Melodie's place is a slice of heaven if you're looking for a peaceful hobby farm retreat. Around every corner were new discoveries whether the beauty of the landscape or the animals in their various living spaces around the property (horses, cows, chickens, couple friendly cats, and sweet welcoming dog Shelby). If you have time for a walk to the woods you'll be treated to a bubbling brook w a bench beside it for some contemplative time, not to mention flowers to gaze at all along way. We hadn't really been aware of the sauna (maybe it's in the listing and we missed it) but it's an incredible treat if you can find time one evening to check it out. There's even more than the exterior beauty and sauna treat, but I'll let you discover some surprises on your own. Ideally, you'll spend several days so you can take it all in. Melodie's family incl husband + kids were so nice + made us feel at home. Our stay was A+++ and we hope to return. Worth driving a little farther for this GEM.

Would definitely book again. Super quiet downtown, lots of parking, safe. Easy check in and check out.

Incredibly clean place to stay and very responsive host. I would absolutely stay here again. Not a far drive from nearby activities but just far enough to appreciate the peaceful location.

This is the 3rd time Dwayne, Hoover and I have stayed here. Its such a quiet and relaxing place. Hoover knew exactly where he was and he remembered Lisa and Ginny. I always feel welcome here. Its quiet. There is everything that you need at the apartment. And its not too far from a main highway so everything is convenient. Lisa is an awesome hostess and is always very helpful. We can't wait to visit again. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation spot this is the place! Thank you so very much Lisa and Ginny for another wonderful stay.

Overall, this was a great Airbnb. The sectional was an electric recliner that did not work and that was a minor inconvenience after a long days of hiking. However, overall it was a really lovely place and April was incredibly responsive while I was there and had to reach out with a few questions. I would absolutely stay there again.

Easy process, great location near everything, and lovely, large space. Fit our family of 4 perfectly. Would definitely stay again!

Awesome area, beautiful place and so much to do even if you don’t want to leave the condo. Very much worth the money! The kids had lots of fun swimming and playing basketball. We will definitely be planning to come back :)

This is a great place! Simultaneously isolated and close to everything. It feels like a cabin , but you are in the middle of Pigeon Forge within 3 min. Close to Gatlinburg as well. It's an older place, but very clean with great amenities and multiple balconies. Kitchen had everything, unlike some other places we stayed. Very nice gas grill outside, we use it daily. We enjoyed watching birds and hummingbird, as Brian and Teresa provided food for the bird feeders. I worked remotely during my stay, and wi-fi worked great. Free Dollywood fireworks nightly, although slightly obstructed. Sometimes there are some noise from Dollywood rollercoaster, but it's not a problem if you are running around during a day.

This place was perfect for me and my friends! It’s exactly what you’d expect with some extras that Lisa graciously provided for us, from toiletries like the usual shampoo and conditioner to things you might forget like toothbrushes and toothpaste, and even snacks including chips and chocolates and other candy. The location is hard to beat as well, walking distance to a crepe shop we had breakfast at, and steps away from the beautiful lake and all of its scenery. Would highly recommend!

We'll be back next year! Really great! Came in late at night but lights were on welcoming us. Absolutely perfectly clean, including the condo exterior. The kitchen was the most equipped I've ever seen. We could have prepared a Thanksgiving meal (including a mash potato masher). Really quiet, spacious and absolutely clean. Loved all the bear decorations and feeding the ducks & geese outside by the river. Thank you!

We stayed with our 4 young boys and my parents. It was a great size for all 8 of us. The drive up can be a little “scary” if you aren’t familiar driving up a mountain. However, drive it down to town and up again just once and you become an expert quick. The condo is quiet area. The screened porch was perfect for the rainy days and still enjoy “nature”. The kids loved being on the porch watching for bears. The location is a very quick and easy drive into town or into the National Park, without having to be around the noise of downtown. It’s nice to go down, do what we want, then go back up to the quiet and “unwind”. We recommend bringing your own pillows. They are a little flat. Otherwise, we found it easy to navigate the condo and the amenities were all convenient to have. Would love to stay again for the location and the price!
