Houseboat vacation rentals in Western Europe

Really unique and fun stay with my two kids aged 6 and 9. Might be a bit stressful with younger kids as way into boat is fine but prob not totally safe for really little ones. Boat bigger than pics look, and has really week equipped kitchen, living room etc. highly recommended

A wonderful, peaceful stay and a lovely host.

We had a lovely time on Peter's houseboat. The location is great. Only a 15 minute walk to the station and the center yet incredibly peaceful. Everything we needed was available and we enjoyed the first rays of the spring sun on the dock in front of the houseboat. The daily visit from a group of geese was quite the highlight for our little boy. Peter welcomed us when we first arrived and was very accommodating and responsive to our questions. We explored the corners of Utrecht and beyond with the bike and can only recommend this lovely city. So many beautiful historic buildings, lovely canals and quaint little cafes and shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

Our three night stay at Kim’s place was excellent. The houseboat is well designed and immaculate. The furniture is comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. Kim was always responsive to any questions. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the turtles and birds. There are many restaurants in Sanford or just stay at the harbor and eat at the deli or the bar. We would love to stay again.

What an idyllic experience. Truly the best experience surrounded by nature- water, tree line, loons, etc. Nothing quite like waking up to 2 loons outside your float, the sun beaming in and the calm sounds of water, or going to sleep with a sky full of stars and the milky way beaming down on you. The boat was so quaint, so functional and everything you need for a relaxing stay, including two very powerful gas stoves good for cooking most meals, and a nice warm shower while you look out into the pond. It was a very easy paddle to shore if you wanted to go out for food, or for daytime adventures. Also a very gentle paddle around the pond for exploration. Rheanna was fantastic- responsive, welcoming and easy to get along with. She was very accommodating and we are very grateful we got to stay on her boathouse. It was a very easy and comfortable stay, so for those feeling apprehensive about the challenges of life on a boat, I wouldn't worry. The highest of recommendations! We'll be back!

Our family loved our stay on Tante Piet in Amsterdam! It was a great way to stay in Amsterdam like a local. The boat was comfortable for two adults and two children (our kids are 12 and 8 and were very comfortable). It was great to have a nice outdoor seating area to spend evenings and one night we used the grill to make dinner. The beds were comfortable for sleeping and the bathrooms were nice. If anyone is worried about feeling movement while on the water, worry not. You don't feel it at all. Siet (+ hubby Frank) is an amazing host. She was friendly with our kids and had great recos on things to do and restaurants to eat at. There were some minor issues – such as the internet going out one day and a power outage another day. But Siet proactively addressed these issues immediately with us and got them corrected as soon as possible ... sometimes before we even realized there was an issue, haha! Staying in this house boat made for a memorable part of our trip to a great city.

We enjoyed the stay on the houseboat! A wonderful spot on the water with a Superhost! Nice rooms, fun games and plenty to do nearby. We have enjoyed the tranquility in the immediate surroundings of Amsterdam. It was wonderful "coming home" on the ark after a busy day in the city. Marie Louise is very cozy and helpful and always ready to help! Really fantastic!!!@

Jay & Teresa’s place was wonderful! The location was perfect and it was exactly as described and pictured. The Houseboat was comfortable and I felt right at home. I can’t wait to make this a yearly trip ❤️

Our stay was perfect 👌 beautiful and cozy. The bed was cozy, the blackout curtains were a plus, and instructions on how to operate water were simple! We had a great time and would come back ☺️

Loved having a different/unique place to stay while in Door county. The houseboat is literally next to the steel bridge but noise was not a problem. What I had not counted on was the very gentle swaying of the boat though this did not affect our stay at all. The beds were very comfortable, the houseboat was clean. The directions to get there were detailed and clear. Loved sitting up on the deck watching the world go by! We did have one issue while we were there, Mary was incredible responsive and the issue was solved promptly! Loved the guy who came to resolve the issue, he was full of local history and information! Great experience!

My husband and I had such a relaxing time staying here! We felt like we were having a mini adventure, but still had all the essentials we needed. We saw manatees, dolphins, and tarpon. And we fished off the back dock at night. It was so beautiful how clear the skies were from the view of this house boat, we saw so many stars. We’ll be back again and I’m already sending the link to friends who were asking about our stay!

This was truly one of the most unforgettable stays we’ve ever had. The houseboat is stunning, beautifully secluded, and came fully equipped with everything we could have asked for — including kayaks, boogie boards, beach chairs, and even a grill for easy dinners. Within minutes of arriving, we spotted sea otters, and over the course of our stay, we also saw dolphins and had a manatee swim right up to my wife and kids while they were kayaking. It felt like something out of a dream. The location is perfect — just across the street from a beautiful beach where we spent hours in the water and got to watch breathtaking sunrises. Then, in the evenings, we’d relax on the back deck and watch the sunset. Natalie, the host, was absolutely amazing — incredibly thoughtful and responsive, even bringing over a Bluetooth speaker to make our stay even better. We had an AMAZING three days at Cass-N-Reel Houseboat! Kirby was an attentive and caring host, with great communication skills! The house boat we named The Loveboat, was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, and we loved sitting on the covered back deck watching the ducks, Blue Heron and boats. We also appreciated the snacks and gift cards to wonderful local restaurants! We were sad to leave and would love to come back!

This place is amazing! Fantastic view and super clean inside and out! Owner is very proactive, simple, and responsive. We will be back every year at least. This is top 5 if not the best place to stay in Venice. Thank you again!

Beautiful houseboat exactly like in the pictures. Being the end unit, it has the best view of the river and Battleship North Carolina. It also has better privacy and access convenience to the community picnic area. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Everything was perfect!

Cute place to stay if you are looking for different and unique. House boat was clean. Easy to find and quiet.

The place was exactly what we expected. Absolutely lovely, nice and clean, easy to find. The children enjoyed our stay. The host was very informative and we had no problems at all. My mobile signal was very poor there, though, and the WIFI on the boat was not working at all. So, be prepared for it.

The Delight at The Cove is absolutely adorable. It was so peaceful to relax on the Cape Fear River, and at the same time be able to enjoy all of the excitement of downtown Wilmington. The houseboat was beautifully decorated and so clean, you could eat off of the floor. Unfortunately, the refrigerator stopped working about an hour before our check-in. This was completely out of the control of our hosts, but they were quick in finding a solution to the problem before we even arrived. I highly recommend The Delight! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We had a great time! It was peaceful and nice to wake up every morning with the sunrise! The weather was beautiful so getting out onto/into the water was easy and fun! I do have to say, if spiders make you uncomfortable, then maybe not the best place for you :) It was a super cute spot and fun to be right on the water!! We really had an awesome weekend!

This is the second time we stayed here and loved it as much as the first. Sad to hear this gem is being sold. We love it and the prime location—so much so, we asked Ray for info. This place was my favorite AirBnB to date! So amazing! So relaxing! Thanks again!

This place has been the best place I’ve ever stayed at (and I travel a lot for work)! If I could have stayed longer I would, as someone who lives a very busy life this place is where it’s at for downtime and RnR. I’ve never heard silence so loud. The place is in immaculate condition, the windows from the bedroom offer a serene backdrop and all the kitchen and bathroom amenities provide a comfortable stay. Royal Albert Dock is also within walking distance for unique shops and gifts, and plentiful options for dining. We ate dinner at Maray and would highly recommend too.
