absolutely beautiful place to stay, this is the second time we have stayed here and will continue to come back again and again. game room and fishing on the lake is a huge hit!! 10/10 recommend

We had a wonderful time at this house. It is perfect for a family who wants to get away and relax. The view was amazing and there are walking trails right down the hill. It was just perfect for our family holiday. We will return again!

Easily one of our favorite Airbnb we have been at! It was quiet, peaceful and beautiful.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Skipping Stones Getaway with our family of five. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful retreat—surrounded by beautiful views and the kind of quiet that instantly helps you unwind. Christie and Donaven have thought of everything. The house was fully stocked with all the essentials (and then some). From extra phone charging cables to those little items you might forget to pack, it was clear they’ve put a lot of care and attention into making guests feel at home. We spent our days out on the lake kayaking, soaking up the calm and beauty of the surroundings, and our evenings enjoying quality time together around the fire. It was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. Skipping Stones Getaway is the kind of place you want to return to. Highly recommend for anyone looking to slow down, recharge, and make lasting memories in a truly lovely setting.

Paul was so quick to respond to any questions I had. He was also very friendly and helpful. Heavens Gate, WOW, the name says it all. The cabin is so beautiful and very well decorated. When you first walk in, you're on the second floor. There's large sliding doors that lead outside to the deck that has the most amazing views of the lake. It is truly breathtaking! They have a very well equipped kitchen. It has a regular pot & a K-cup maker which came in handy. There are games, tv, great wifi and an awesome hot tub! The hot tub was hot and clean. We quickly unpacked, made a mimosa and jumped right in. That view, also amazing! The Wifi worked outside to play tunes while we soaked in the tub & amazing views. The road was scary for this FL girl, but you do get use to it. Also deer walked around the house and we saw an eagle. The beds were super cozy and there were plenty of dressers to unpack. The master shower was so nice. I can go on and on... just book it, you will not regret it!

Had another enjoyable week at Ross’s Retreat. So much room to relax and enjoy the beautiful lake & Mountain View’s. The 2 kayaks always a plus. Hopefully will be back again next year. Thanks again.

Our family loved our stay. The place is incredible with so much to do and see. They really put a ton of care and detail into everything. We can't wait to come back and recommend this place to anyone! A very special gem.

I spent 3 nights on this property , the pricing was fair for the view and the amenities. Absolutely beautiful scenery, I hate that I didn’t get to get in the lake because of the weather , but so happy they had private hot tub on the property. The hot tub itself will leave you feeling stress free lol. The house was spotless and decor was beautiful very homie. I was suppose to have 5 guest but ended up just being 3 and feel like that’s the perfect amount of guest for this house. Love it , and highly recommend if you just wanna get away and enjoy some nature.

The place is absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with spices, utensils, and everything we needed to cook. The location is peaceful and there's ample room in the living space. Can't wait to stay again.

The house is such a gem!! It was perfect for our family of 9 for Thanksgiving. We could have never left the house our entire trip because the main level is so cozy and comfortable. There is plenty of games and puzzles to keep everyone entertained. My son loved the little nook area with the bean bag. There is plenty of space to spread out with the 3 different living room areas. If you want a good workout - go for a walk! The house is at a higher elevation in the neighborhood, so you will have to walk down and back up. We hiked to Laurel Falls - that was another workout! Be prepared to drive a little ways to the grocery store. We brought most of our groceries but needed a few things and the next town is 25-30 minutes away. (Of course, there is always Dollar General that is closer!) Not many places to eat out. The first night we went to the Trading Post and the food was good and the people were so friendly, we stopped back in on our way out to say goodbye!

If you are looking for a perfect getaway around Boone this is the perfect spot. Lance is an incredible host, he fired up the sauna and the hot tub for us multiple times. The pond with the rock was a beautiful backdrop for our stay, def will be back in the summertime when we can swim. Love this place and will most definitely come back.

We have rented homes on Watauga 15+ times and this so far has been our favorite. It’s very obvious how well the home and outside is cared for. The patio, furniture, and dock are all so clean. I have found that a lot of places lack that part. It was so nice to be able to paddleboard and kayak without paying extra. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. I highly recommend this house and plan to return for future visits if it’s available!

Joe! Thank you for sharing your beautiful treehouse with our family! This was our first stay in Tennessee and we felt right at home. After arriving early and messaging Joe (who was flying home from Costa Rica) he got right back to us about check in. Driving up to the house the road is narrow - drive slowly. The driveway is steep - it was a little wet and muddy when we arrived but by the time we left it was dry and not a problem - we backed our ford explorer up it to load the car. We didn’t see any bears but kept our eyes open! We hit the race in Bristol & the dinosaur park nearby but really enjoyed just relaxing at the house. The porches are perfect sitting spots and the master bedroom is a perfect spot to lay down & still feel like you’re in the trees. We cooked all of our meals right at the house too. Our two little boys loved our stay too! After the 10 hour drive home our oldest was very upset and kept saying “no go treehouse treehouse” Needless to say we will be back!

We absolutely loved this place as a get away for a couples’ weekend so much so that we are planning to return with our children this summer. It’s very homey and has everything you need to disconnect from things and relax. We can’t wait to return!

Great location on Sugar! Space was perfect for our short weekend trip. Marcy was very responsive and checking in was easy. A really great trip.

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. Such a great location being minutes from the ski resort. The home had a great layout and was split up well to allow for everyone to have their own space when wanted. The home was clean and comfortable and felt very homey. Also, Kelly is an amazing host! We had an appliance issue on a weekend late night, and she was very quick to reply and make things right for everyone. We absolutely look forward to staying again in the future and recommend other guests!

Our family of 6 went on our first ski trip at Sugar Mountain and Appalachian Mountain and stayed in Faith's condo. We loved the location. Walkable to many restaurants. We walked to get ice cream at night. Short drive to Sugar Mountain. Condo was very clean and spacious. Faith was very responsive with questions and concerns. We had a little mishap where the bed frame broke the first night upon sitting on the bed (he is 190 pounds). We had to make do and share 2 bedrooms between the 6 of us. Faith had the bed fixed by the next day and refunded us a small portion for the inconvenience. We were grateful for her responsiveness. I can see other Airbnb owners blaming the renters and charging them extra instead. Overall a great experience and great memories for our first ski trip. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

This is by far the best Airbnb host I’ve ever encountered! They were incredibly warm and welcoming. The guidebook they provided was detailed, thoughtful, and extremely helpful — from local restaurants and activities to sightseeing recommendations, everything was spot-on. Communication was always prompt and responsive. Overall, an outstanding experience — I highly recommend staying here and we will come back!

Amazing views …. This place is so peaceful, I felt like I was at a retreat! The big windows let in so much natural light throughout the day, and when you look out you see the most beautiful view of the lake. The decor and furniture is pristine, making the home extremely cozy!

We really enjoyed our stay at this pretty condo and the view of Grandfather Mountain is worth the price alone! The condo is easy to find and had everything we needed. Although we only ate breakfast here, the kitchen looked to have anything you would need to cook a nice dinner. The bathrooms were squeaky clean and we were provided with enough toiletries and towels for our visit. The location is perfect for going to Valle Crucis, Boone or Banner Elk or simply relaxing on the porch. Ronnie gave lots of good information and was super easy to communicate with! We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Everything was beautiful and a peaceful stay with family. Brittany was always quick to respond! The listing stated a hot tub, and we were a bit disappointed to find it in not working condition - but after talking with our lovely host, we were able to come to an agreement! We recommend this place for anyone looking to getaway for the weekend! Perfect for larger families, and so much to do in the area! Like Tubing, Ice Skating, Skiing, Snowboarding, and Hiking! 10/10!

We loved staying here! We had a lot of fun with the foosball table and games. The house was very clean and had everything we wanted/needed. We saw a lot of deer. The house was in a great location. We would definitely stay here again!
