Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Tamarack Surf Beach

We had an excellent vacation in Carlsbad, thanks to Patti and Ken. The accommodations were perfect for our stay, and we found everything we needed for cooking, to enjoying the beach. The home is very well kept, and the furniture and bed were very comfortable. The beach is a short walk, and we could also enjoy the sun porch for watching the sunset. Must sees in Carlsbad are the Flower Fields and the nearby Harbor Fish Cafe has some of the best seafood we've had! We hope to get back here again sometime! What a wonderful Airbnb experience! The bungalow was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We especially loved taking advantage of the outdoor amenities, including the cold plunge, sauna and hot tub. The outdoor space was perfectly tranquil. Our daughter and dog loved playing in the yard. The proximity to downtown Carlsbad was a huge plus. We were very happy with our stay!

This is such a beautiful home, I already want to go back! The walk to the beach was easy and so close. The privacy of the outdoor seating area was really nice. Kitchen was clean and spotless and the beds were incredibly comfortable! The water pressure in the showers wasn’t very strong, but everything else was perfect. Would absolutely stay again! Oh, and the hosts were very responsive throughout the stay when I had any questions!

Anthony's place was great! He and Amanda were super communicative and the place was easy to get into and was exactly as described. We had a great stay. If you are unfamiliar with the Carlsbad area, as we are, there are a couple of helpful things to know: - there is quite a bit of street noise as the home is directly on the street across from the Pacific. - the beach directly across the street from the house is at the bottom of a bluff - there are quite a few stairs to climb down in order to reach the beach/water. - there is no beach across the street at high tide - the water comes all the way up to the bluff - there are great beaches about a half mile either direction from the home that are easier to access. None of this would have changed our decision to stay, but would've been good to know if we were more familiar with the area. Overall great stay, at the home was very well laid out for my elderly Mother with all amenities on the first floor and not stairs to enter the home.

We had a fantastic stay at Clarissa’s place! The location is unbeatable—just a row of houses away from the beach and conveniently close to the Village, restaurants, and Legoland. Clarissa is an incredible host, always responsive and attentive to anything we needed. The home itself is well-equipped with everything you could ask for. We only used one bedroom in the back, and the bed was very comfortable. The long driveway behind a small gate was a huge plus, easily fitting our GMC truck and a smaller SUV. This home is also great for larger groups, with plenty of space to spread out. Highly recommend staying here—we’d love to come back!

This place was wonderful and exactly as advertised. The home was so beautiful and well thought out. It was incredibly clean and the backyard was beautiful. Hunter was very responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend!

House is super cool. The theatre room and game room were huge hits with the grandkids. If having the beach just minutes away wasn't enough the house has so many fun things to do. Christie is an awesome host who sent super clear instructions to the location including a video in case you needed visuals for getting there. Hot tub where they encourage you to find your temp not locking you out and setting the temp at something silly or low gave freedom to select what you want. Outdoor shower to wash off the sand from the beach with tons of beach stuff for you to enjoy the ocean! My kids and grandkids are counting the days for a return already. Such a cool place to stay!

The place was great, along with the wonderful location and great communications. We only had a few issues, had to switch the breakers to get the living room stuff along with wifi working, the discolored bath tub, the mold stained washing machine and the sticky kitchen floor. Those were only minor things (which we discussed with the co-host/maid/Nadia) to the great stay we had! Thank you Melisa and Nadia!! Will stay here again!!!

It is a perfect place if you're looking to make a quick trip to Oceanside. We only stayed for a night and half a day, but it was perfect for what we needed, a place to sleep and quick access to downtown to attend celebrations with friends. Betsy was super communicative and friendly, no issues whatsoever.

The location was great, close to many restaurants and shops, great ocean breeze, great ocean view from the room, beautiful grounds, and 5 minutes from my sons house on Camp Pendleton!

Rented this airbnb for my 70 year old mother in law who was visiting family in the area. She said the airbnb was perfect - clean, easily accessible, everything you’d need and more.

Our son was the primary guest at this property while he interned at a local law office. We were able to leave him and return to Texas feeling very comfortable with his accommodations. Location was perfect, centrally located, close to village dining and shopping as well as walk to the beach. He enjoyed his time and looks forward to another visit. This gem of a property exceeded all expectations! Nestled in a prime location with easy access to local beaches, shops, and restaurants (don't forget the awesome coffee shops), we found ourselves perfectly positioned to explore everything South Oceanside has to offer. The immaculate cleanliness of the space immediately stood out - every corner was spotless, with fresh linens and gleaming surfaces throughout. We enjoyed peaceful mornings and quiet evenings that made it feel like our own private retreat. The attention to detail and tranquil environment created the perfect balance of convenience and relaxation for an unforgettable stay for our family.

communication was great! few blocks from donut shop and an ice cream shop and just a few more blocks down are breweries and other good fun restaurants. the place is very clean, this particular room did not have a view of the outside much however, you're not there for the view. it is a small space think of a dorm room. keep in mind that it is a gated complex however, you have to get out of your car to open the gate and there can be a lot of folks walking down the pathway and lots of e-bikers whizzing by make sure to keep your car door shut when you get out. there's also not an elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage or it's heavy you will have to go up a flight of stairs. this is an end unit which is nice because you're right by one of the exits. overall it's a great place to stay if you're just a party of one or two.

We absolutely loved, and would recommend Matthew's vacation rental. We have stayed in Oceanside several times for a quick get away and this lovely location is by far our favorite. We hope we will be able to return in the near future. A parking spot is right in front of the property, Matthew's check in and out instructions are clear and easy to follow, the location cannot be beat, with the ocean and private beach just steps away. The interior has everything you could possibly need, it was clean and well stocked. I personally appreciated the binoculars and decaf coffee. It was wonderful to sit outdoors and watch dolphins, seabirds, surfers, dogs happy to be on the beach, and relax to the sound of the waves. There are many great restaurants nearby, and plenty of activities and places to visit in and around town. The best part was the feeling of being in our own little private sanctuary. Thank you to Matthew for being a fantastic host!

We love the location and amenities at Paul’s place. Very quiet unit and lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful surroundings. A new hot tub opened by the pool during our stay which was wonderful!

Ms.Sandy provided a very welcoming AirBnB rental to relax and decompress in. From her initial inactions, she was extremely helpful with detailed instructions and helpful suggestions. As a bonus, the HOA also offered recommendations on places locally to dine at and entertainment. It’s the combination of these two that make for an enjoyable experience. Ms. Sandy’s place is clean and features 2 smart tvs for your entertainment pleasure. Just remember to log out of your streaming service before checking out. If you need a bit of fresh air, the beach is close by, along with the harbor with eateries and entertainment. Or just walk around the compound and enjoy the various water features and koi pond. For you golfers, bring your putter and enjoy the putting green. There’s also a swimming pool and gym, however the beach is just minutes away. You can definitely put your trust in Ms. Sandy for a very enjoyable experience.

View was spectacular! Loved the decor style! It’s an older unit but still well maintained. Loved the amenities and proximity to the beach and restaurants in Oceanside. Would definitely stay here again!

Nick was a great host! He let us check in early to get settled, was communicative and helpful, and the apartment was everything we were looking for. I loved the location as it is very close to downtown Oceanside while still in a peaceful neighborhood. I felt very secure with the courtyard and loved the coffee shop right across the street. I would recommend staying here and plan on staying here again the next time we come down!

Our second stay here was Wonderful! So close to the beach and downtown Oceanside! Also, a fully stocked garage full of bikes, water toys and everything you could ever need.

I cannot say enough about Leslie and Kaylie. Absolutely everything was perfect. Every I was dotted and t was crossed. Communication with them was amazing. The home was beautiful. Comfortable, clean, and safe, with responsive and friendly hosts! A short walk to the beach, shopping, restaurants and night life. Highly recommend and will book again in the future!
