Remote, Lake View Guest House

Do you need an escape from home? Our quaint one room studio cottage is located in our avocado grove with great beautiful views in the hills of De Luz. It has a king size bed, 3/4 bath, kitchenette with 10 cu ft fridge and stove (but no oven), gas BBQ, dining area and private deck ~ it sleeps up to two people. The cottage has it's own entrance and driveway just past the main drive. As you relax on the deck or from the house you will enjoy the panoramic views and a view of the lake. The cozy cottage is approx. 700 sq ft and is adjacent to our home on the property. We have "natural AC" (i.e. no AC but fans and lots of windows and doors). Also included is satellite TV and Wifi, and a continental breakfast usually consisting of bread for toast, fruits, coffee and tea. The cottage is a great destination for a "get away from it all" retreat, for hikers and for cyclists and motorcyclists that want to enjoy the back country roads and vistas. You will enjoy the gorgeous drive to our cottage with the windy, narrow tree lined roads. The Temecula farmers market is a popular destination on Saturdays, and Temecula has a fabulous selection of wineries for tastings and dining. In Fallbrook, there are a variety of great restaurants, cute shops including a retro candy store,and a popular art gallery as well. We are located close to the Santa Margarita River Trail which is a 6 mile loop trail located near Fallbrook, California that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is used for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. It is accessible year-round. The Santa Rosa Plateau is another fantastic hiking spot, with vernal pools and gorgeous rolling hills and panoramic views. We are located 7.5 miles (15 mins) from Fallbrook and we are 25 minutes from Temecula, and 45 - 50 minutes from Oceanside. In addition, we are also approx 1 hour from Downtown San Diego and the SD airport. Just an FYI, we are 15 minutes from the closest store in Fallbrook, and the roads to get here as mentioned before are windy but lovely. We also have 2 sweet indoor/outdoor kitties that might stop by for a visit but we do not allow them in the guesthouse. Just to note, living in a rural area we share our property with the local critters that pass through such as coyotes, raccoons, etc. In additions to the furry critters, we also have the insect type. We try not to use pesticides so you potentially could see a bug now and again. Note: due to the coronavirus, we are taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations and at least a 3-day hiatus between stays. Weekly rental possible.

Ty was a wonderful host! He was very responsive! It was raining the night we arrived but the directions were clear which made getting in super easy. The cottage is charming and has everything you need for your stay! It was walking distance to the downtown area of La Jolla and when not foggy had a view of the ocean but beware, it is very hilly and a workout to go up and down! I would stay again when visiting San Diego!

This cozy stay was perfect for our weekend getaway. We had trouble initially getting inside but the host was easy to contact and quickly was able to facilitate our entrance. The space inside was beautifully decorated and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The view from the kitchen/dining window was breathtaking. Our favorite spot though was the patio with the orange and mandarin trees. It provided shade and it was lovely to sit under trees enjoying the scent from their blossoms.

Patricia and Stephen were great hosts, very friendly and responsive. They were flexible with check in time and gave great restaurant recommendations. Although an older model RV, it was in great condition, very clean and well equipped with "creature comforts" and plenty of room. The heater and hot water worked great on a cool February night. The vistas were wonderful. As other guests have commented, Patricia prepared an awesome fresh breakfast with fresh squeezed OJ, which is certainly not the norm with typical AirBnb accommodations! We had to depart early and she easily accommodated our travel schedule. This was a fun alternative to most typical AirBnb stays. Although it was just a one night stay, it was very enjoyable! OMG! Where do I start.....this entire oasis is beauty beyond the natural eye!!! Michelle and Greg are absolutely AMAZING!!!! They truly have a passion for hosting! Each private home had their own special touch!! Riley the german shephard is such a sweetheart and a great fur host!! Lol...We had the time of our lives from the house, to the jacuzzi, to the pool! The cabana area overlooking the valley is a stupendous view!! Michelle also baked fresh cinnanon rolls for us! All in all dont hesitate, just book or else we will keep it booked up!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Connie’s place. What an amazing location with Mission Bay on one side and the Pacific Ocean beach on the other side just across the street! I We loved the roomy garage (having parking is a huge plus in Mission Beach!) and being able to walk to the beach, restaurants, and parks. The kitchen was extremely well appointed - it is easily the most well-stocked kitchen we’ve ever had at any AirBNB. The bathrooms included plenty of towels and toiletries. The master bathroom shower is lovely and super spacious. All beach gear was provided, including a wagon, chairs, boogie boards, and a wide selection of beach toys. We loved having the full-size washer and dryer. We also loved the private outdoor patio with a grill. Connie was very communicative, responsive, and accommodating, and provided great local recommendations. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if back in San Diego.

Cypress Hill is our favorite place to stay when we visit North County. Each time has been great. Roxanne was very accommodating which we totally appreciate. The place is always stocked with whatever you may need. Location is nice just off the main road with tons of restaurants, stores, etc. Beautiful views, nice yard with cool chill space with some activities my kid loved, like ax throwing and tetherball. Gotta love that fridge always stocked with fresh eggs too!

Clean, comfortable, and convenient - no complaints! I loved the area. Very safe - would choose this location over downtown without hesitation. Uber is easy from here, and you feel immediately safe in the neighborhood. Great food is also within walking distance and everything you need is in the Casita for a home away from home. Hope to stay again!

My 3 week stay at James’ place was great. Walkable to the beach, good food nearby and very safe. It is right next to the highway but I didn’t really hear it at all when I was inside. The unit is very clean with laundry in unit, full kitchen etc. and James was always very helpful with anything I needed. I’ve stayed in many airbnbs that are run by some management company and very impersonal, this stay was anything but! I will definitely look this listing up if I am working in Oceanside again!
