Vacation rentals with a kayak in St. Simons Island

Loved our stay at the Blue Heron. So spacious and all furnishings and kitchenware was all nice and up to date. Outside area was beautiful and fun to hang out in - our teenage boys loved the kayaks and playing football and ping pong outside. We took a few beach trips to Jekyll Island which was nice and quiet. Stephen was very responsive and made us feel very welcome. We would love to come back!

The house was awesome with a private dock on the Sapelo River. This is a perfect location for 2 family's. It was exactly how Scott described it on his listing. Their were several great restaurants we ate at during our stay (Altman's for breakfast, The Fish Dock right around the corner, B and J's, Hunter's Cafe, Tabby House Brewing and several food trucks during the festival). The time we were in Townsend they had the Blessing of the Fleet in Darien which was awesome. So much to do and see in this area.

Great home !!! Only downside was the river was not accessible, we did enjoy the pond in the back yard !!! Great freshwater fishing !!! Great time with family that lives locally in the area !!! Great host !!!

This house is very peaceful and Don is a great host. The town of Darien has a few restaurants and a grocery store. We enjoyed spending time on the screened back porch and taking in the beautiful sky after dark. We also spent time kayaking in the marsh with the provided kayaks. If you’re looking for peace and quiet this is a terrific place.

Cindy is a great hostess! She has equipped the Riverbend Retreat with everything you could possibly need. It is such a perfect location to enjoy its wonderful environment, and as a base camp for exploring Sapelo Island, Harris Neck, the shops and restaurants in Darien, and St. Simons. Riverbend Retreat was one of the best Airbnb rentals we have experienced. We hope to return again. Great sunsets, wonderful marsh activities, and many good dining opportunities nearby. You can't go wrong at Riverbend Retreat!

We had a great stay here. Egor was very helpful. The place was clean and ready for us to stay. I thought it would be on the river with private access, but the river is across the street. The boat ramp is busy all day with people just hanging out. The river was so much fun. We were grateful that they had an inflatable kayak for use because our paddleboard got a tear in it. All in all it was worth the money to have a great quick get away. Would recommend!

Amazing!! The views are incredible here. The house was FULLY stocked with everything you need. The kitchen felt like home! The back porch was our favorite place.. being screened in it kept the bugs off but we were able to still enjoy the weather. The outdoor kitchen area was put to good use as well. We loved the area. My ONLY complaint and it’s a rather silly one is the king size bed was not comfortable. There is 6 other bed though if you don’t prefer the king. We had a great time, lots of good meals were cooked, great memories made and beautiful scenery to behold!

Absolutely loved the cottage and location. If you are visiting for kayaking or trains, the cottage is located close to both. The cottage is so adorable and Aubry makes you feel right at home and provides everything. I wish I could have stayed longer and will definitely return. Thanks Aubry!
