Beach Please!Top Floor|Balcony Ocean View|Pool

MorganRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beach Please far exceeded my expectations and was the perfect spot for my family vacation. We were able to fit four adults (ranging from 34 to 78) and one toddler comfortably. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed and were beautiful updated. We had one issue with the beach wagon. Jamie and Jay were incredibly responsive and had it fixed before our next day at the beach. There are so many restaurants and shops within walking distance and the grocery store within a short drive. The food nearby was superb! Special shout out to dolce dough, wake up coffee, and fiddlers. We will definitely be back!

Bells on Egmont Cottage (dog friendly)

PhyllisRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Traveling with my dog is required and the cottage was a good choice because I prefer having a private backyard for my dogs bathroom breaks. The neighborhood is historical and older but I still felt safe. I prefer a more firm traditional mattress with a box spring and a lot of air bnb rentals use the memory foam mattress that are not comfortable for my back. So a longer stay on the mattress is not an option for me , and maybe only 1 or 2 nights is bearable. The kitchen was adequately supplied for our short stay. The check out process was a little more detailed than a lot of other places that I have rented because stripping the beds and folding the bedspreads was required.

The Sea Glass Condo

Melissa was super kind and quick to respond when questions came up. The townhouse was as described and very comfy. We appreciated how clean and tidy it was upon arrival. It was a one minute walk to the closest shop in Pier Village. We’d definitely stay here again should we head back to SSI.

Salt Air Villas - Walk to Beach Pier Restaurants

ElizabethRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This location was amazing. I did not want to leave and I also would love for Shere to come decorate my own home! I enjoyed coffee on a peaceful deck each morning. I walked to the beach, enjoyed a dive bar bite along the way with fun vibe. A great walking path right into town right out the gate. You can also walk to the bike rental locations easily to enjoy a day exploring the island. Shere's location is simply wonderful, peaceful and has everything you would need. I can't wait to return! A very special get-away.

This is one of the better Airbnb’s we have stayed at over the years. This place is clean and attractive; the beds are comfortable; the location is excellent; and it is stocked with extras like bikes, beach chairs, batteries and extra TP (thank you!). It is such a pleasure to stay at a place where the host clearly cares and wants your stay to be enjoyable. Did I mention this place was very clean? We so appreciated the clean couches, floors and bathroom. I would absolutely stay here again!

Your guide to St. Simons Island

All About St. Simons Island

Located off of Georgia’s coast, St. Simons Island is the largest of the Golden Isles, known for its warm weather, sandy beaches, and historical sites. Cannon’s Point Preserve sits on the north side of the island, with shell middens from early civilizations dating to 2500 B.C. as well as a slew of hiking and biking trails. A great way to explore the area is via the St. Simons Island Trail System: 30 miles of bike paths that circle the island. Paddlers find plenty to do at the Marshes of Glynn between Jekyll Island and St. Simons, a coastal wetlands where you can spot dolphins and sea turtles.

St. Simons Island draws in visitors by boat and by car to its wonderful sandy beaches, including locals’ favorites Gould’s Inlet and East Beach. Gould’s Inlet pier is the top spot for birders to take in the waterfowl while anglers fish for red drum. Redfern Village’s tree-lined streets are jammed with art galleries and boutiques alongside bars and restaurants serving low country boils and fresh local seafood.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in St. Simons Island

June through August provide the warmest days when the island’s beaches come into their own. The nights drop a bit in temperature but are still quite pleasant. January is the coldest month, but even so, the temperatures remain relatively comfortable throughout winter. The rainy season is from the end of August through September, so you’ll want to dress accordingly with waterproof layers. Spring and autumn are less busy but still warm enough to book condo rentals and be able to enjoy all the island has to offer. Fall is also a good time to catch the annual Food and Spirits Festival with regional producers and artisans, farm stands, markets, and tasting tents.

Top things to do in St. Simons Island

St. Simons Lighthouse Museum

Not far from the village and pier is St. Simons Lighthouse Museum. One of only five light towers in Georgia, its beam — which shoots 23 miles out to sea across St. Simons Sound — still navigates ships around the coastline. Climb the 129 steps to the top and admire the spectacular views towards the south end of St. Simons Island, as well as panoramic views across to Jekyll Island and Brunswick on the mainland. The Keeper’s Dwelling houses a small museum showcasing rare artifacts.

Cannon’s Point Preserve

On the northern side of the island, Cannon’s Point Preserve is a beautiful natural area adorned with forests and wildlife. There are around six miles of salt marsh, river shoreline, and tidal creek inhabited with an array of birds, fish, manatee, and oysters. The area offers nature walks and biking trails, historic ruins, and boat launches.

Massengale Park

One of the most popular recreational areas on the island with access to East Beach, this park offers a lovely picnic area that is shaded by tall oaks. There is a playground as well as four grills for an outdoor lunch or a sunset meal. Parking is available if you have traveled to the island by car, but access to the beach is on foot only.
