Historic Boyle House Downtown

An Enchanting Stay. Loved the authentic adobe home with a beautiful courtyard that was blanketed in snow our first night. We took advantage pf the cool weather with a nice fire in one of the many kivas. The house is huge with many sitting rooms to explore and enjoy. It is also very clean, private, and secure. The cenntral location was a short walk to a great pizza place on the corner or the plaza or Canyon Road, and a quick drive to most anywhere in town. The house is centuries old, so there are a few things to be aware of. People in the 1700's must have been much shorter than we are; most doorways are less than 6 feet tall. There is also a step up or down at most doorways. Not a big deal and easy to get used to. Another thing to be aware of. The house is several hundred years old, so you can expect a slight musty smell. The host was anxious to ensure our stay was perfect and made sure we had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Contemporary Style with Old World Charm

Advice to anyone staying here - check in before dark, because entry is a bit hidden, dark, and is right next to neighboring rental's patio! Bed and linens were super comfy. Loved the high ceilings too! Kitchen amenities are split between 2 rooms, so if you're planning on cooking, this might be inconvenient. Fine for a 'low-impact' stay though!

On the Pecos River in Pecos New Mexico

JenniferRating, 5 stars3 months ago
The home is lovely and exactly as described in the pictures. We were looking for a peaceful location and that's exactly what it was. It took awhile to get used to the radiant floor heating system (hours to reach desired temp). Other travelers may want to be aware that there is very little to do in Pecos. We ate at Dairy Queen on the night we arrived since there wasn't anything else open at 7 PM. We ate at Frankies at the Casanova for lunch. It's a historic building and the food was good. Went to the (free) Pecos National Historical Park (buy the $2 Ancestral Sites Trail Guide) and walked along the river north of town in the Pecos Canyon State Park. The home is at the bottom of a very steep hill and I would be very worried about getting in/out if it was snowing or icy. It's easy to get into Santa Fe and we took 2 day trips & went in the evening to the Tesuque casino. In Santa Fe, went to Meow Wolf ($55), New Mexico History Museum ($12) and the Capital building among others
