“This place can not be described by pictures or text. It is very stylish and modern. Perfect location with nature out every window. You could see live deer and other animals right outside your front door. The grill and hot tub are amazing. We will definitely return and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a perfect getaway.”
We invite you to stay in our completely remodeled 1940s cabin. Our goal is to provide a superbly clean & comfortable stay with access to a multitude of outdoor activities. Very short drives (or medium walks) to both Midtown and the Grindstone Lake. Ski Apache, Ruidoso Downs Race Track, Smokey Bear Historical Park, Billy the Kid Museum, and many more beautiful sites and parks are also nearby. We are family-friendly and love dogs. Come enjoy the mountains and wildlife right out your front door!
“The cabin was incredibly cozy and we appreciated all of the small touches that helped to make our stay in Ruidoso perfect for a family of four! Michael and Scarlet were fantastic hosts and responded to our questions quickly. They’ve clearly invested a lot of time in creating the perfect “cabin in the mountains” experience for guests. We highly recommend their cabin!”
“Sprucewood” is one of the few original 1940s split-log cabins in the popular and wooded Upper Canyon. Filled with new, modern-rustic design, it’s an historical gem at the top of the hill, with deck overlooking distant mountain peaks, pines, and cabins. Friendly deer walk through the yard. The river is a scenic stroll away. An easy hike through the woods of Perk Canyon is a 2-minute drive; shops & dining are a 5-minute drive. With hot tub, and ski-lodge decor, it screams mountain cabin getaway
“This cozy cabin was the perfect spot for us. It’s vintage charm and rustic décor created a comfortable and relaxing vibe. The cabin was fully stocked with all the essentials along with extra touches as well. Throw in our morning and evening soaks in the hot tub, and what could be better? Unlike many of the neighboring cabins, this one sits high up on two lots, giving it a much more private feel and providing beautiful views from the top deck, living room, and hot tub areas. It was just the two of us on this visit, but the Sprucewood would be a great place for two couples to share. The hosts, Steve and Gretchen went completely above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They were easy to contact when needed and they provided us with all the info we needed to make our visit a success. Thank you Gretchen and Steve for your outstanding hospitality. My husband and I are already looking ahead to our next trip back. We’ll be in touch with you, for sure!”
