  • This is an absolutely magical place to stay, especially for first time visitors to Costa Rica like us. We were visited by capuchin monkeys, an iguana, red macaws and wake-up calls from howler monkeys! And the blue morpho butterflies were a special treat, as was the pool to offer relief from those hot days! All in all, a wonderful experience!

  • The treehouse is such a unique and relaxing experience, you'll never want to leave. We return every few years to enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife and we see something new each visit. Thomas & Lili are wonderful, highly responsive hosts and each stay we find more to love about the area. It is a very special place!

  • If you are going to Costa Rica for the wildlife sights and sounds there is no better place to stay then at Thomas and Lili's treehouse! This place was an oasis of relaxation and excitement. We seen many species of monkey, iguanas, toucans and many other incredible birds. Playa de Macha was beautiful and our favorite out of the 6 beaches we visited. We snorkled in tide pools and enjoyed this more secluded beach. If you are an active person the hike is not bad. We spent time at the pool daily. It is lovely, well maintained and served as a much needed cooling station. Thomas was an attentive host and assisted us frequently. The treehouse was a trip of a lifetime experience! Pura Vida xoxo

  • Great place to stay if you are looking for a bit of an adventure. Thomas was great at replying to questions right away. We saw some monkey's which was awesome!

  • What a fabulous place to get away from it all and relax in paradise. The tree house is right in the middle of a nature lover's paradise. On this stay we saw toucans, scarlet macaws, beautiful butterflies, white-faced capuchin monkeys, a lone howler monkey, and a troop of squirrel monkeys who entertained us for an hour by playing on the roof and the deck. More fun than a barrel of monkeys! We also spotted a sloth hanging out at the little park at the base of the hill. Can't wait to go back!

    Susan2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience, definitely do it!

    Tom2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our time in the tree house, it was beautiful and loved waking up to the sounds of the monkeys and Costa Rican wildlife. The hosts were very responsive when we had questions and helped us navigate our way there. Would recommend to those who love nature and want a remote stay. Would recommend doing the hike to the beach nearby it was beautiful.

  • No words can describe this place! Just book and go , if it’s full for your dates just change them ! Truly the Costa Rican experience itself! It’s a tree house, so you will see a couple insects here and there which is part of it. (Our last night in Manuel Antonio we spent at a fancy hotel and honestly I did not see less insects inside the room that what we saw at the tree house. ) What is deeply a great experience is the direct contact you will have with nature, we saw more animals around the house than we could see at the National park ( probably bc was crowded) - This place has it all - is also clean and super charming ! We spent 11 days in Costa Rica between fancy hotels and Airbnb’s visited tortuguero, la fortuna, Monteverde and Manuel Antonio and from all the great experiences while there Thomas and Lili tree house was what me and my husband will always remember as the greatest one about this trip.

Located in Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific Zone, La Luz sits atop a mountain overlooking the stunning Baru River Valley. The property sits on 12 acres in the gated community of Valle de los Caballos- surrounded by sweeping vista views, bamboo lined drives, waterfalls, and a jungle that‘s home to the wildest flora and fauna of the area.
Finished with design conscious, sustainable materials and furniture from local craftsmen, La Luz is your sanctuary for a peaceful and cathartic experience. Through our floor-to-ceiling glass walls you’ll find toucans, several species of butterfly, and maybe a howler monkey or jungle cat. When it’s time to head to bed, you’ll rest easily with our air conditioned rooms, pillowtop mattresses, and Parachute bedding. The casa is outfitted with a full purpose kitchen, mini bar and washer/dryer. The casita is outfitted with a full purpose kitchenette and induction burner, refrigerator. Both spaces boast top of the line cook ware and bar ware.
  • A lovely house with everything you need and more. If you, like me, like things neat, tidy and beautiful this is the stay for you. It also has a nice pool and a nice garden area and a beautiful view. As we visited Costa Rica at its warmest it was a relief to stay at La Luz with its high location. Communication with host and the property manager was great!

    Sofie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very modern house in the middle of the jungle! The view was awesome. See you soon again! Be prepared of insects inside of the house, we had a nightly visit by a big spider in the bedroom :-D

    Hannes2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Is an amazing place to stay. A real jungle feeling with a minimalist look but yet very very comfortable. Loved the pool looking on to mountains and the full featured kitchen. It has a coffee grinder for those coffee lovers.

    Felipe2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful!!! If you are looking to stay in dominical area, you can’t go wrong with La Luz. Its one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. Beautiful Birds, Stars at night from your bed, views in the morning, comfort, peace are just some of the many things we experienced while our stay. Oh and pool is just cherry on top. Absolutely loved it and if we ever visit that area again we know where we are staying, thanks Chandra and Aaron for keep checking on us from time to time.

    Hartej2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house is as chic as shown. Nothing is missing. Breakfast with toucan, evening mood with cicadas, morning waking from howler monkeys.

    Thomas2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • La Liz is an amazing house! The host and his house manger are amazing and respond quickly!! The views are breath taking and there is so much to do close by.

    Annie2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • La Luz is a beautiful place to stay that is only 15-20 minutes away from the beach. Not only was the house very comfortable, but the host is so sweet and helpful. The only downfalls to La Luz (which are very minor) are: the road to get there is up a mountain so there are plenty of twists and turns (most of it is on a paved road though), the actual house doesn't seal very well so bugs can get in (there weren't many at all though), and the bedroom was the only room with A/C (the other rooms had fans). Regardless, we knew most of these things anyways and it still was AMAZING. Such a beautiful view to wake up and see. REMEMBER to pack sleep masks because it's very bright in the morning.

    Dylan2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Even better than what we expected. We ended our 2 week holiday here and it was the best place we’ve stayed in. Clean, modern, right in the jungle and the view is amazing.

Located in the heart of Manuel Antonio, comfortable, safe and fully equipped with kitchen, one bedroom, one bathroom and spacious living room, supermarket 50 m. Extra services: laundry, yoga classes on the beach, tours to amazing waterfall, and shuttle to the Airport.
Vivimos en un barrio típico de Manuel Antonio rodeados de gente muy amable, esto hace del alojamiento un lugar único, así como el cómodo precio y la facilidad de tener cocina equipada y refri para quienes quieran preparar su propia comida.
The neighborhood is very safe, very friendly people, you have one supermarket and typical food restaurant nearby.
  • Small house well placed with good equipment. The hosts were very pleasant. My daughter got a fresh coconut because she was sick.

  • Perfect !!! Very welcoming, very functional and clean apartment.

  • This was my second time staying at Caro and Iñi’s place. They are wonderful hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The apartment is so cute, and has everything you need to be comfortable. The location is great, off the main road but walking distance to many local restaurants and the bus. They have made improvements to the property since the last time I visited, some new furniture and the garden keeps getting more and more beautiful. I highly recommend this for a safe and relaxing place to stay, and I will definitely stay here again. Gracias!

    Amber2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a secret gem in this area full of tourist traps and overpriced hotels. We were made to feel incredibly welcome, one of the hosts met us at the bus stop and the other was there to let is in and give us a great descriptionof all the local areas including some great tips that we would never have known otherwise!

    Dany2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic stay! Our host was enthusiastic and very helpful, offering tips on local spots to eat and beaches to check out. We were next door in our own house, and it felt private, with a kind and helpful neighbor. We blasted all the fans because at this time, Manuel Antonio is quite dry and hot. Our bed was comfy and shower was clean and spacious. Everything we needed was in the kitchen and recycling receptacles were right outside. I would suggest bringing ear plugs as the house sits next to a road and the animals can be loud at night, ie howler monkeys, birds, dogs and motorcycles. Luckily I had a pair of ear plugs, so it was all good. I would highly suggest staying at Casita Titico if you are looking for a true authentic Tico experience! We would rebook again!

    Erica2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent sympathy of Inigo and beautiful local information. I recommend everyone.

    José2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Caro and Iñi were great hosts, very available and full of good advice. As for accommodation, it is really nice. Lots of space, everything you need for cooking and toiletries, the bed is comfortable, there is even a small space outside. In addition, it is really well located (right next to Manuel Antonio). The only downside is that it is quite noisy. There is no "glazing" (like many in Costa Rica) and the road is just behind the accommodation but a pair of earplugs is done.

    Marie2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a good space hosted by a great couple. They helped us with recommendations that made our time in Manuel Antonio fun. The space provides great value for the price.

Stay for 7 nights or more and get a 15% discount, equal to a free night. As many guests say, if you spend a lot of time on our balcony you'll see more wildlife here than you will at the national parks. Our property borders the biological corridor Paso de la Danta so we're regularly visited by lots of wildlife, like monkeys, sloths, toucans, deer, pigs, dantas, aracaris, anteaters, coatis, hummingbirds, etc etc. **3/6/20 updated to 50 mbps fiber optic internet, the best available in our area.**
This listing is for the 2300 square foot entire upstairs of the house. There are 4 bedrooms which all have memory foam beds. 3 bedrooms with queen beds, and 1 has a full and twin bunk. It technically sleeps 9 but I suppose more is possible if its small kids or your willing to use our air mattress or one of the couches. You will have access to everything that you see in the photos including swimming pool, covered patio with comfortable seating and dining table, gas and charcoal bbq grill, kitchen and dining area, living room, 1.5 bathrooms, and a massive balcony with lots of seating to enjoy the incredible view. There are fans in every room, including eight different 60 inch industrial ceiling fans and several pedestal fans. The main bathroom has a giant concrete bathtub and shower that has a jungle view and sometimes you can see toucans, sloths, or monkeys while bathing. The kitchen/dining area is fully furnished with everything you need, from the blender to the utensils. The large balcony is a great place to relax or do yoga (yoga matts included) and has lots of seating, 2 large double hammocks. The living room has a 40" tv with Amazon fire tv (Netflix and Prime Video included), blueray player and the ever important wifi. The house has a very fresh and open feel with 14 foot cathedral ceilings covered in bamboo and large windows everywhere with lots of new screens to keep the bugs out and let in the breeze off of the pacific ocean. We're located 10 minutes up the mountain, away from the paved highway and at 1000 feet elevation so we get visited by much more wildlife. Up here the temperatures are a few degrees cooler than at sea level so we don't need airconditioning. But for those warmer days there are 10 fans throughout the house, both ceiling fans and pedestal fans.
Located in Lagunas de Baru, a private community up in the jungle covered mountains near Dominical with incredible views. Only 5.2 miles (8 km) from the layed back beach town of Dominical but at over 1000 ft elevation so the temperatures are more comfortable and fresh feeling than the beach. Because we are not near the traffic of paved highways and in the middle of the jungle many visitors see more wildlife at our house than they do hiking the national parks. A big difference between our place and coastal properties. Dominical beach, which has good surfing all year round, offers every kind of tour you can imagine. Whale watching, horseback riding to waterfalls, ziplining, whitewater rafting, kayaking, etc etc. Drive 10 minutes north of Dominical and you're at the gorgeous beach Playa Linda, or 10 minutes south for beautiful Playa Hermosa. There are also countless waterfalls nearby that I will gladly give you directions to. 17 miles (27 km) from Marino Ballena national park, "the whale's tail beach", which is a great place for free snorkeling or you can pay for whale and dolphin watching tours. 34 miles (54 km) from world famous Manuel Antonio national park which is packed full of multiple species of monkeys and sloths and home to one of Costa Rica's top 5 beaches. 33 miles (53 km) from Chirripó national park which encompasses 125,000 acres and home to the tallest mountains in Central America including the 12530 feet tall Cerro Chirripó.
  • The house and grounds are a paradise. It was very hot but all the fans and the really nice pool helped us to stay cool. Fantastic wildlife around the house. We saw toucans everyday, a family of monkeys came every second day and we saw the coati. The drive up to the house from the main road was a little intimidating for us at first but after a few times up and down the mountain we got quite used to it. The House of Jupiter was everything I hoped it would be and Jeff and Wendy are very helpful.

    Audra2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This location is hands down one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The house is in the middle of lush rainforest. If you are quite the wildlife will come right up to the house. we saw tucans, monkeys, parrots and paca. All from the balcony of the building. We had 6 in our group 2 couples and 2 singles. There was plenty of room for everyone. We mostly drove up to Quepos for activities. When we were done for the day it was lovely to come back to this beautiful house and lounge by the pool.

    Karolee2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic stay and well worth the trip if flying into San Jose. Will definitely consider re-visiting. Had no issues the entire trip and Jeff and Wendy also helped us find some local activities.

    Jimmy2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything magical everyone has already said is true! Waking up at dawn with our coffee and watching the valley wake up ( my daily visits from the Toucans and Aracari was the highlight of the stay. We didn't see the sloth or the monkeys but it was very hot and dry and they probably went up farther. Jupiter House is not air conditioned and I am not a fan of hot, but the fans throughout the house and decks made it ok. Air conditioning would change the whole ambiance and sound of the area. Wendy and Jeff are absolutely the best hosts we have encountered and we have rented plenty. We forget milk for our coffee and I asked Wendy ( who stays downstairs, ( but you wouldn't know it) for a bit and the next thing I know we have a full box of milk in the downstairs refrigerator. If I had a large party this house would be the best!!!!!

    Lisa And Sarah2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing experience. They gave us all the information for getting around, helped book tours and had great communication. They went above and beyond!!! The house was exceptional! We saw so much wildlife! Just amazing!

    Xochitl2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a full week at Jeff and Wendy's place and loved every minute of it. It is an amazing house, in a natural wonderland, above a great little town. The house is very attractive and comfortable--luxurious, even. And Jeff and Wendy have furnished it with everything you could want--including books on the mammals, birds, and plants you will see all around you. We saw toucans and aracaris in the cecropia trees in front of the house every day, and were regularly visited by other species of birds as well.. Also lots of agoutis and monkeys on the grounds. And with a little effort and luck, you can spot peccaries, sloths, and anteaters. A piece of advice: if you visit in dry season, pack some earplugs. The cicadas can get unbearably loud in the middle of the day, but earplugs solve that problem so you can enjoy the pool area whenever you want. Jeff will provide you with details and location information for many great beaches, waterfalls, and restaurants in the area. Each one different and magical. And Dominical is a fun little town. Try to be there on a Friday morning for the farmers market--a great variety of local produce, prepared food, and artisans' work. I highly recommend a visit to Nature Lover's Paradise, for as long as you can make it!

    Karen2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Wendy are exceptional hosts. Before arriving, Jeff gave us plenty of information to visit around, groceries, restaurants, playa, more and more. He also gave us all the detailed info of how to get to the AirBnB and it was really helpful. We had a delay because of our plane and we arrived later than expected. Got there at dark. Jeff waited for us. It was really kind of him! The communication is a big FIVE stars. It was really easy communicating with Jeff. The AirBnB was really what we expected and if you are a bird lover, you will LOVE this place. We must have seen 50 different kind of birds. Every morning and every afternoon around 4, we had a show of all the birds coming to say hi. Not to mention the coatis, agoutis, peccaries and White faced monkeys. It is really a nature lover's paradise.

    Nathalie2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, location, and overall experience! Jeff was great at communicating and making sure everything was taken-care of!

  • I spent a lot of time reviewing the former Guest’s experiences as posted and I was quite quite impressed. As a former President of the platinum advisory board with a major hotel corporation and almost 19 years of “lifetime Elite” status with them I traditionally have always vacationed at hotels. As of the last five years 90% of my travel has been with Airbnb. I’m finding the experiences incomparable. And this property is one of the highest rated I’ve ever seen on Airbnb. Rather than be redundant, because every review talks about the beauty of the property. The incredible immersion with nature. How spotless the home is. How incredible easy it is to work with the host. I would love to try to offer some additional insights. First off I feel a few travel hacks might be useful. Number one, as you’re making your way most likely from San Jose to Manuel Antonio there’s a small town about 15 minutes outside. Stop there and stock up on essentials. Bottles of water, milk for the coffee, and any type of food that you choose to maintain in the refrigerator. The kitchen is very chef friendly. If you go to the market across the street which claims to be organic market, although interestingly it also peoclaims itself a liquor store. in hindsight that’s probably brilliant marketing because you leave no stone unturned! However if you thought Whole Foods was expensive, this makes Whole Foods look like Supervalu market! We literally got water coffee milk and a few other odds and ends and spent $200 for one bag of groceries. So my suggestion is, do like the locals do. When I walk into a restaurant or supermarket and I don’t see any locals eating there I know it’s a tourist trap. There are two main beaches. There’s a big tourist beach which kind of has the feel of Venice Beach California or Hollywood Beach Florida. There’s also a more remote beach that’s very private although you have to walk down a somewhat steep tricky incline path but once you maneuver it you’re at a beautiful beach oasis! (Christopher the Guest liaison can give you more specifics) The best restaurant that we discovered was actually a little falafel house just a few yards away from the house. The best pizza was the wagon wheel restaurant. There is a wonderful little bakery on your way down to the tourist beach on the right hand side that makes amazing coffee and has fresh bakery products that are very reasonably priced. Christopher also referred a wonderful personal driver by the name of Roni. He was always attentive and available for us whenever we needed to go someplace and was about the same price as a typical Uber. I will say that perhaps the most meaningful experience we had was one that you never want to have while you’re on holiday. The very last night my travel companion got very ill. Most likely something he might’ve eaten that didn’t agree with him. But it 10 PM at night his temperature was 102 and it kept climbing, he was also very disorientated. I reached out to Christopher the property manager and within 15 minutes we had a doctor and an EMT by his bedside administering to him. They brought in an IV and pumped him up for the fluids and within 15 minutes he was back on his feet and 100% recovered! Apparently a combination of some sunstroke as it had been almost 100° that day and also probably eating something that didn’t agree with him. My point is you can’t even get that kind of medical care in the States so quickly! I was expecting to at least pay $1500-$2000 For an emergency late night medical team dispatched to a house that administer the personal IV and other medications. I was pleasantly surprised when the cost for everything was just a little over 300 bucks. Less than the cost of an emergency room visit in the States! It’s better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it! But I was so impressed that even that late at night I could get a hold of Christopher and he was involved in something personal but dropped everything to come to our rescue! That is something that you can’t put a price tag on and it makes all the difference when you’re traveling in a different country in a remote area! I really could continue to go on and on but I’m beginning to think that maybe Airbnb limits how long your testimonials can be! So the last thing I’ll add, is I was so impressed by Christopher and by working with Heather. I was so overcome with the beauty of the property and the incredible location. I was inspired to do something that I’ve never done in all my travels. within 10 minutes of walking into the property, I re-booked my next trip back! I can’t think of a greater compliment and testimonial than that factual statement!

  • House with an absolutely incredible view! Many more animals (monkeys, macaws, toucan, iguanas ...) in the garden than in the parks !! Breakfasts are served every morning at a time that suits us, cleaning is done every day, you just have to enjoy !!

    Sylvia2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning property! Loved the ocean view from the infinity pool, surrounded by wildlife (a pair of macaws lives on site; iguanas; howler monkeys and even a squirrel monkey stopped by for a visit). House was very nicely cleaned and cared for, with daily housekeeping. Though it's listed for more than 10 people it's still comfortable for a small party. Easily could have spent the entire trip just at the house. Would definitely come again

  • The place, the views, the house, the spaces, the location ... everything is perfect and beautiful. I would return anyway!

  • Look no further - this place was OUTSTANDING! You feel like you are in the middle of a nature retreat but have a short walk to amazing bars and restaurants. Literally the best of both worlds. Chris was AMAZING at helping with everything we needed. He even booked us a fishing trip and private chef last minute! He also came to see us off at the end of our trip which was at 1:30 AM since we had to leave for the airport. It was UNREAL. We will absolutely be back. The housekeeper brought amazing breakfast every morning and did dishes/laundry and cleaned towels. It was a moms dream come true vacation. We can’t thank them enough!

  • If you’re planning on visiting Manuel Antonio and the town of Quepos and would like the space and privacy a home stay affords, stay at this here! There were five adults in our group. The home is comfortably spacious. The location of convenient; right across the street from a small market and close to lots of terrific restaurants and the park itself. Chris, the manager is friendly and quick to respond to all questions. The pool, while small, is perfect. The flexibility of the daily breakfast was very much appreciated. Being surrounded by wildlife was great; brilliant macaws, woodpeckers, iguanas, monkeys, butterflies, etc. Most of all, the views are spectacular!! We would never tire of the amazing sunsets. What a wonderful choice we made to stay here!

    Robin2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great house!! Amazing views from the awesome pool and pool deck! Very professionally run. Full concierge services, daily maid service, daily breakfast brought to your door. Clean and plenty of space. Our adventure tours were so much fun and we loved our guides. The chef we lined up through the concierge was so wonderful! Costa Rica is beautiful and this home is a great place to stay.

    Lynn2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • This house is incredible! Comfortable beds, lots of seating and places to hang out, beyond breathtaking view from house and so many more great things! We came for our annual girls trip and the hospitality was even better than expected. We felt so cared for. There is a super sweet and friendly woman who comes to clean every day and even does the dishes! Chris is very communicative and helpful in setting up excursions and answering any and all questions. The breakfast was delicious! There is a supermarket basically right across the street and lots of restaurants and coffee shops within close walking distance. You can’t walk to the beach but the bus is incredibly cheap (330 colones I think) and gets you to the beach in less than 10 minutes. We had iguanas, monkeys, and birds of all kinds right by the pool every day just hanging out. Overall, an amazing paradise-like place to stay. Highly recommend!

Enjoy privacy with great views, stylish open living and garden bathroom, perfect hideaway for honeymooner and nature lovers.
    >>> THE ESTATE Built on over 2.5 acres, the large private estate is situated in a quiet pristine setting. It consists of the longhouse, where the owners live, an infinity-pool with Indonesian style gazebo to relax under while overlooking the jungle and ocean, and the orange house for rental. The buildings are surrounded by a huge tropical garden with lots of native trees, giant bamboo and local fruit trees (harvest your own lemons, starfruits, pineapples...) set close to the rainforest and the Morete River. >>> LOCATION Uvita, with its infrastructure that includes banks, supermarkets and restaurants, as well as the beaches and Marino Ballena National Park are only a short distance away by car. To Dominical it is a 9 miles / 10 min drive by car. One of the most popular national parks of Costa Rica, the Manuel Antonio National Park near Quepos is just 37 miles / 1 hour by car away. The property is located with easy access to the main road. >>> ORANGE HOUSE - THE RENTAL HOUSE The orange house was designed to provide privacy for those who want to simplify and eliminate both the physical and psychological clutter in their lives and come back to the spirit of nature. The open inside is divided by built in furniture in king size bedroom, closet, kitchen and daybed areas. Big sliding doors lead to the porch were you can relax in a hammock, watching tucans, hummingbirds and a lot of butterflys. A lush outdoor garden bathroom invites the guests to experience a shower under the stars and emphasizes the open living character of the house. The floors are made of stained polished concrete. Straight clear lines, minimalism of furniture and decoration invites the resident to enjoy the spirit of the tropical outside, surrounded by a simple inside design. A sophisticated ventilation system of wood shutters and roof ventilation use the natural air flow to dispense with need for air-conditioning. >>> POOL The pool area is located beside the longhouse and consists of a 3 x 11 m large infinity pool with waterfall shower from a bamboo pole and an Indonesian style gazebo to relax under. The pool will be exclusively for you to use during your stay. From the pool area you will experience a breathtaking view of the surrounding jungle of the "fila costeña", the coastal mountain range that rises to over 3000 feet above the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. >>> THE UNIQUE BENEFITS OF THIS HOUSE Living in the Orange House in a quiet pristine setting, close to flora and fauna and at the same time strategically located less than 1 mile away from the center of Uvita, the Marino Ballena National Park, restaurants, beaches and tourist attractions. >>> FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS 1) How far is it to the international airport in San José? We recommend to rent a car. It is a 200 km/124 miles/ 3-4 hours drive from the international airport in San José to Uvita. We also recommend to do the drive during daytime. The best route is starting from the airport taking the new highway 27 direction Caldera and then highway 34 via Jaco, Quepos, Dominical to Uvita. Alternatively you also can take a domestic flight to Quepos with Sansa or Nature Air and take a rental car from there. From Quepos it is only a 45min drive to Uvita. 2) What kind of rental car do you recommend? We highly recommend a rental car to explore the area! We also recommend a 4x4, it would not be absolutely necessary but more comfortable. A small one would be sufficient. 3) How close is the Orange House from the beach? The nearest beach is Playa Hermosa, 3 km/1.5 miles away from the Orange House. The famouse whalestail beach is approx. 5 km/3 miles away. All together we are close to 7 different beaches here in the Uvita area. You will need a car to go there.
The area offers plenty of activities like surfing, yoga, pilates, stand up paddling, kayaking, hiking, whale watching, waterfall repelling, ziplining and an animal sanctuary. Uvita has a good choice of restaurants, as well as Ojochal, where you can enjoy excellent food at Citrus or Exotica.
  • Very nice BNB, it is really worth the money. We felt very comfortable. Everything is perfect

    Marco2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Orange house is simply amazing. Every little detail has been thought of and it is perfect if you love nature! The style of the house complements the beautiful garden and you really feel like you live in the jungle, even though you still have all the luxury of being in a nice small house. Udo is just a great host, who will do his outmost to help the guests have the best time.

    Michael2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Orange House is lovely. Close to Uvita but with its large garden you are in your own private oasis. Udo is a perfect host, the cottage was immaculate and in pristime condition. Use of his infinity pool was much appreciated and used often. We would definitely stay again.

    Douglas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful stay in Uvita. One of the more peaceful and private places that we have stayed in. The shower/bathroom area has to be experienced, a description would not be enough. We did however find the house extremely hot, even with a ceiling fan and small portable a/c unit.

    Gord And Heather2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely exceptional! What a view from the pool, breathtaking. Exceptional Thai style house. Truly a little paradise in this beautiful country! Udo is very responsive and leaves his garden only available to his guests. A joy to be alone in this paradise!

    Léa2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Udo's place was perfect. The pool is amazing and the orange house was lovely. I wish I could have a bathroom like that at home. Great location as well - close to beaches and restaurants . Udo was a wonderful host. Looking forward to coming back.

  • The Orange House was a beautiful eco-friendly home that made our stay at Uvita extra special. Udo was a very considerate host and provided ample recommendations for the area. Overall had a great stay!

    Linda2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • I'd like to start off by saying how much of an amazing host Udo has been throughout my stay. The orange house was so peaceful, relaxing and refreshing great way to re center. Udo's space is breathtaking, he has a beautiful garden and fruits trees one could admire. At many times we were able to experience white faced monkeys passing by the orange house. Our favorite was the dreamy pool with an amazing view and warm water 💕 Udo has been very responsive and super helpful during our stay. I would recommend this place to ANYONE including friends and family. I would say his location is perfect, many things to do with reasonable distance and just secluded enough to ONLY relax. My partner and I are looking forward to returning. Thank you for making our first trip to Costa Rica memorable

  • One of the most scenic stays! 4x4 required. You do NOT want to attempt to drive here without 4x4. Do not attempt to arrive at night. The drive up the hill is intimidating the first time but after that it is an easy little trek. That being said our stay here was unparalled. You just cant beat that view. We were serenaded by toucans at sunrise and sunset every day, we had a troop of howler monkeys staying in the trees with us, a coatimundi hungout in the brush beside the house, and we saw a plethora of cool lizards and insects. The pool was a great spot to cool down and hangout. The outdoor deck was an incredible space to stargaze at night and listen to all the different jungle sounds.

    Jessy2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Place was absolutely stunning and nothing compares to that view! We loved hanging around the pool and soaking up the views and jungle noises (woke up to howler monkeys)! We would advise trying to arrive your first day before dark as the road looks very daunting at night and is a little tough to navigate. Definitely check out Bar Jolly Roger and have the wings!! Rudy the property manager was quick to respond to any questions we had. Would definitely go back!

    Ayrann2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great location! High up in the jungle with amazing views and great help from Rudy! Thank you for letting us enjoy this beautiful house!

  • I absolutely love this house. The best views money can buy. The house is an architectural marvel and the pool is like swimming in heaven. You won't find a better place to stay for the price. It is a vacation destination you will never forget. Highly Recommended!!!

    Austin2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Breathtaking views of the ocean and wildlife. Home is literally carved into the slope near the top of the mountains integrated with the jungle. Rudy the property manager was a responsive host. Air mattresses and extra linens on site. The hill getting up to the property is no joke. 4x4 is NOT optional. You will not make it up to the house. Overall, good value for the price and would stay again.

    Nick2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place was breath taking. It’s everything described but better in person. The view is priceless. The house is very clean, easy check in. Rudy the Property manger was very helpful with things to do and places to eat in the area. Kevin was quick to reply to any of my questions and gave a lot of suggestions for food and activities. You will most definitely need a 4x4 to get to this house. The pool was great. It’s a house you would definitely need to stay at on your next vacation to Costa Rica. Highly recommend this place.

    Natasha2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Kevin’s place. Rudy the local manager was of great help during our entire stay and answered our questions very quickly. A few things to note: ACCESS - we made it to the house with no problem on a 4-cylinder 4x4 (rav4). A friend made it almost all the way up on a 4-cylinder SUV but it wasn’t easy. And the weather was on our side. In other words yes, you do need a 4x4. It’s mostly a matter of grip up a very steep road rather than incredibly bad road conditions like other places in CR. LOCATION - the house is a 10 minute drive a steep hill in the escaleras neighborhood. It’s a different microclimate here, which for us was fantastic- lots of life around you, critters big and small everywhere, and slightly lower temp than down at the coast which was refreshing, and made the pool a little cooler than expected. AMENITIES - during our stay we did have a power loss and woke up to a few hours without water. As it was six ticos, this didn’t scandal us as other foreign visitors (were used to it). The property manager Rudy was super quick and helpful and got us back and running in no time. Things like these come with such special location. A fair trade in our book. HOUSE - the architectural touches of the house were impressive, the footprint seems to barely touch the mountain (which makes for lots of steps) and respects the nature around it. The natural ventilation was refreshing, and the view unmatched. We did not notice that for 7 people to sleep here, 3 of them would have to sleep on an air mattress (our own mistake since it’s clearly stated on the listing) but TBH the living room made for the best room to sleep in (and stargaze). Overall a great experience and a very nice place if you’re willing to sacrifice a few luxuries for a truly unique destination.

Beautifully designed contemporary villa with exceptional 180º views of the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by tropical rain forest with an abundance of wildlife. This house is ideal for nature lovers looking for a secluded space that's only a 5 minute drive to the beach. Located minutes from the highway, in a very private and secure location, only 12 minutes from Dominical, and 30 minutes from Manuel Antonio National park, it is the perfect location to explore the central pacific region.
All 3 bedrooms and the main living area feature grand glass doors with beautiful ocean views and direct access to the pool. Large windows in the bathrooms bring nature in. The modern kitchen is fully equipped, and there's also an outdoor kitchen with BBQ on the wooden terrace overlooking the ocean. There is a utility room with a washer and dryer for your convenience. 4x4 access only
There is an excellent well-known local restaurant a short drive down the hill from the house. In the nearby village of Matapalo you'll find a grocery shop and a beautiful, very quiet beach. Dominical, 12 minutes away, is a lively surf town with a wonderful relaxed vibe, beautiful beaches, numerous shops and restaurants and of course surfing gear and lessons. You will also find SUP, yoga and pilates lessons. The stunning Nauyaca waterfalls, where you can picnic and swim, are 20 minutes east of Dominical, and Marino Ballena national park ("whale tail") in Uvita is 20 minutes to the south. Manuel Antonio national park, which is considered one of the best parks and one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, is only 25 minutes to the north of the house.
  • Our group really enjoyed our stay and previous reviews really helped us have appropriate expectations. Everyone agreed we would be very glad to return to this house. We echo all the positives people describe, so my review is mostly to provide info we didn't have from the reviews that would have been helpful. Naama, the host, was always very quick to respond to messages but utilizes a property manager for things during the stay. The property manager was also responsive. They communicate by text message. My husband had international data turned on while traveling but if we hadn't it would have been difficult to coordinate check in. We cooked most meals at the house and found the kitchen sufficient to do so. Wifi was about 80% reliable. At night (more than one night) the wifi cut out. While the house guide provides some good info re local attractions be sure to use GPS when you get on the road. Distances are not accurate from the house and since nothing has an address it can cause confusion. Thank you to Naama for sharing her home!

  • Excellent family vacation in Costa Rica, highlighted by staying in this beautiful home! Our family of four (2 adults+ 16 and 4 year old) enjoyed the stunning views and accommodations at Naama's. The house is very private and is surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest. The check-in and overall communication with property managers was quick and helpful. Cristina was always a text away with any questions about the property or activities. We especially appreciated the wildlife on property, amazing view, the pool, layout of home-so much natural light, laundry on premises, activity suggestions in area found in a binder at the home, and having a cooler to use for beach outings. The bugs were no big deal, and not an intrusion in to the home if you keep screens closed. The nearby beach, Playa Matapalo, was delightful and ended up one of our favorites. Strongly recommend the waterfall Eco Chantales, and rafting at Rafiki Safari lodge.

    Angela2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay. The location allows a breathtaking view of the ocean, while remaining relatively close to the main centers of interest. Our stay at the villa was the perfect place to end our tour of Costa Rica.

    Sabrina2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Naama’s house was wonderful. Her home is perfectly located, secluded and away from tourists but close enough to everything. Our favorite towns were Dominical and Uvita, both a short drive away. You will feel like a local in your own slice of paradise up in the mountains. Everything was very clean, beautiful and as pictured. We loved how private and quiet it was. Playa matapalo is just 5 minutes away and chances are you will have the beach to yourself. Plenty of great restaurants in the area, La Parcela was our favorite. Don’t go crazy planning every detail, just get to the house, relax and check out Naama’s binders in the living room with recommended beaches, waterfalls, restaurants and excursions. Don’t be intimidated by the bugs! Like anywhere in the world, as long as you keep the screens shut and clean up after yourself you won’t have any bugs inside the house. Due to the altitude, the air is much more comfortable by the house than down at sea level. Between the atmosphere and great ventilation of the house, the temperature was always pleasant. Her house managers Cristina and Eric were both very helpful in making our stay comfortable, both only a text message away. Prior to arriving, Naama arranged for us to have private chefs. She put us in touch with Sharon and Priscilla of TropicalTaste. We stayed in touch through email and planned all the appetizers, dinners and desserts before arriving. They offer diverse dishes, brought the necessary ingredients and all of the food was AMAZING. I highly recommend having them for your stay. Don’t hesitate to book Naama’s house, we felt very safe the entire time and loved our stay.

    Kelly2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This stylish and modern home is perfectly situated to take advantage of amazing views from all rooms and the outdoor living space. Naama was great at communicating, as was Christina, her property manager. The home is beautiful and comfortable, but could use additional seating in living area and around the pool. Location near the small town of Matapao was perfect, very empty and beautiful beach without the crowds of Uvita and Domenical, easy access to al the area activities. Highly recommend!!

    Libby2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We don’t always leave reviews but in this case we wanted people to know that this is an exceptional experience. This house is Amazing! The space is just so well laid out. It could not have been more functional for what you want on your tropical vacation. The views were unbelievable. The AC and internet worked great. The water was clean and safe to drink and the washer/dryer and dishwasher made tidying up convenient. Our kids lived in the pool. The outdoor shower was great for washing the sand off after the beach. We loved it here more than dozens of rental homes we’ve stayed at all over the world. Thank you!

    Megan2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a struggle to accurately describe the magic that awaits you at Naamas villa. We were drawn in by the beautiful photos but nothing could have prepared us for how special this place really is. We spent most of our time staring in awe at the beauty and nature around us. We saw a pack of baby coatis, colourful toucans and the highlight of our trip - a sloth with her baby in the tree right next to the villa. Her property team - Eric and Cristina were incredible. I can not recommend this place enough. The only downfall is that we did not want to leave! Pura Vida indeed :)

    Erica2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Naama’s house was amazing. The view is spectacular. The house itself is beautiful. Every room is comfortable, stylish and has a breathtaking view. We had a regular coati visitor every morning and saw toucans everyday. Definitely need a 4wd. Great location for having adventures north and south of Matapalo. The house binders offer great suggestions of playas to visit and other sights to see. Christina & Erick were very kind and great to work with. I made a booking error and they were most gracious in helping me work it out. Our family would definitely stay here again. Pura Vida!

  • Wow! It was a wonderful experience to stay at infinite abundance. The journey begins as you take a scenic drive up the mountain to the property the house is situated on. Jeff proved very thorough directions and if you arrive before sun down it is quite easy to find. The house itself is great. It has all the amenities you need to just relax and enjoy from a great kitchen, outdoor BBQ and a pool and hot tub with an amazing view that pictures don’t do justice. Between Jeff and Ken we had great advice of things to do in the area and assistance with anything we needed on the property. The property is a short drive from the wonderful city of Dominical but the property itself is a real treat to explore. Ken has created several paths through the nearby rainforest that are easily accessible on the property. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here and will try to make it back again soon. • This property is PERFECT for a Costa Rican getaway. It's all the way up the mountain giving you incredible views and all the privacy you could ever want. They are not messing around by telling guests to rent vehicle with 4-wheel drive - we got stuck briefly one time but Jeff was very accommodating and provided us a parking solution that saved any further hassle. Everything was very clean and there were beautiful local flowers placed throughout the house. Kitchen is perfect for cooking full means and enjoying them outside with the best view you can get. Great host with great recommendations for local activities. Such a wonderful value as well, we would come back to this location in a heartbeat.

  • It's not often that I am at a loss for words, but this is one of those times. My husband and I recently stayed at "Infinite Abundance" and it exceeded even our highest expectations! The views from this spectacular property are breathtaking! The photos hardly do them justice. The home was brand new, beautifully designed and decorated with everything one could want or need and then some! I could go on and on but I am only allowed so much space for my review. This was by FAR the BEST place we ever stayed!!! Book it NOW, it will be the best part of your vacation for sure! We didn't want to leave!

    Faith2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house and surroundinga are absolutely amazing. It's at the end of a road and quite secluded, views are amazing . Very thoughtful design of the place with the little extra here and there. The place was perfectly clean and had everything we needed for cooking etc. Jeff was a friendly and professional host, clear recommendation.

    Till2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute perfection. There’s nothing more I can really say.

    Michael2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • I spent two weeks with my 20 year old son here. At times we wouldn’t bother to go anywhere because we loved the pool area and the view so much. In the daytime you can see forever and at night you can swim in the nice warm pool and lay on your back and look at the stars. The house itself is nicely appointed and Netflix was our go to after an tiring afternoon of surfing. The town down below has a friendly laid back vibe and the owner often hosts an array of interesting people on the estate. You have your choice of being left alone or chatting it up and I enjoyed some fascinating conversations about life and the Universe. It’s very safe where we were and we didn’t bother locking the doors....and we drank the spring fed well water without issue. Jeff was always eager to help and we kept in touch through texting on What’s App. The drive up the mountain is not for the faint of heart and requires a 4x4 but it’s worth the drive. I would buy this place if they would sell it to me. 😊

    Brenda2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Where do we start. It is located in the Lagunas, near the town of Dominical on a mountain. It takes about 15 minutes to go up the mountain and another five to get to the village. The property is just over the summit (1550 ft) and situated at the end of a private driveway. Two beautiful gates for security I guess, but there is very little people around. Very private setting. From your walkout to the infinity pool, you are in awe of most likely the best view you will find in Costa Rica and at a reasonable price. An endless abundance of mountains, valleys, trees and ocean that will dazzle your mind. The grounds are well maintained, professionally designed and an absolute stunning variety of colours and plants. A hot tub with waterfall compliments the infinity pool. Waking up with a coffee and admiring the nature of the sun peak over the mountains, is breathtaking. There is no photo that will do justice on the beauty that beholds. Having a dip in the pool, resting your arms and feel the sun’s warmth as it climbs above is beyond your wildest dreams. Does it get it any better, we don’t think so. You will also receive the pleasure of seeing toucans, hearing holler monkeys and many other beautiful things that Costa Rica holds. Number one thing for us... NO MOSQUITOS. The amenities are 2 king beds, 2 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and showers (1) is outside. The indoor bathrooms are equivalent to any 5 star plus hotel. A beautiful kitchen, lots of cupboards, huge two door refrigerator, big flat screen tv, large island with four chairs, 4 burner gas stove and oven. Also there is a washer and dryer. Outside there is a 4 loungers, 4 wicker chairs, table with six chairs, propane bbq and umbrella. Exterior lighting can’t be beat. Wifi is excellent, drinking water is fab and the water pressure is great. Once we both had showers and the laundry was going and the pressure remained the same. I believe that the building was just completed last month and absolutely everything is brand new all first class. I could go on and on, but I think you have the idea. To miss the opportunity to make your vacation, would be a shame. I recommend this big time and I would give it a 6 star rating out of 5. And Jeff Olsen, the property manager.... there is hard way to put him into words. My wife met him last May when she was here with friends. She raved about him and she was right. Attentive, personable, on the ball and just a super guy. I now have the pleasure of calling him as a friend. He also entertains at the Bamboo Room in Ojachal, most Friday’s and great on the keyboards, (food there is great). Tomorrow we are moving out of here and going to Suenos Mariposa, which is on his property for the next two weeks to complete our most memorable vacation of our lives.

  • We stayed at Larry’s place for spring break with our two young children and absolutely loved our stay. The place actually felt bigger than how it is depicted in the add and the amenities were fantastic. Communication with Larry was great and he made sure to respond to our questions quickly. This place was out of the crowds and peaceful and we would hands down book it again.

    Melanie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Larry’s place was gorgeous. The road is incredibly steep but worth it to be out in the jungle amongst the birds and many animals we got to see! We loved the pool and the A/C that worked well. I would love to return to this place!

    Lana2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house is as beautiful as in the photos. Easy communication and quick responses with Larry. We could see coatis and many birds, including toucans. The house is in tropical nature, so expect to see insects of all sizes. The location is perfect, near Quepos, Manuel Antonio (white sand beach, monkeys ...), Dominical (Jolly Rogers restaurants, Por Que No for pizza and location on the waterfront for the view sunset), Uvita (surf lesson with Lapa surf school). We loved our stay and very much enjoyed discovering this region of Costa Rica. We will miss the Pura Vida and the house of Larry!

    Annie2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • A hidden gem in the forest and intimate. Luxury and pure happiness. Everything is glazed / open to make the most of it. Extraordinary comfort. And toucans as visitors :)

    Mylène2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice modern house with a great pool in the middle of the jungle. Very nice and quiet beaches nearby.

    Ralph2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice beautiful view. Loved the location.

    Sandra2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with our two children (7&10) in Larry's beautiful house. We totally loved it and it was a great ending of our holiday trip to Costa Rica. The house is well designed and all the luxury you need is there. Climate control is excellent and so is the view outside. Everyday you are treated by a concert of a variety of tropical birds and we even had two racoons that passed by the house. One more tip: do eat at the 'langosta feliz'. They serve the best seafood at a fair price and you can also do takeaway and eat outside near the pool. We definitely recommend staying at Larry's place.

    Jeroen2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nice house situated in wild unspoiled nature. We saw so many different animals passing the property every day. You definitely need a 4x4 to get there. We could have stayed here for much longer time.

Enjoy the mountain view and beautiful sunsets from the hammock on the covered back porch of our fully equipped cabin. It’s simple but very cozy and comfortable. We are located 10 minutes by car from the beach, walking distance to Nauyaca Waterfalls. The cabin is close to the main road yet is very secluded, safe and private. The map on here doesn’t show our exact location but the photo does. Our photos show exactly what we have in the cabin.
This one bedroom cabina comes with a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a small living area. You will love sitting or hanging in the hammock on the treetop back porch over looking the mountains and watching the birds. Update: because we listen to our guest’s opinions and want you to have a great stay, we are upgrading the place and constantly adding little details for your comfort.
We are located 10mnts by car from Dominical beach where you can find a variety of restaurants, bars, markets and lots of surf. Fruit stands, souvenirs and more just a 5 minutes walk from the cabin. Nauyaca waterfalls office is just around the corner! All the main towns and attractions like Manuel Antonio, Uvita, Marino Ballena National Park, San Isidro are 30 minutes away by car from the cabin.
  • Janet is a very friendly host, great stay in the cabin, great view from the terrace and we could see some animals.

  • Highly recommend this private house with an amazing view! We absolutely loved the stay here, 1 min away from Nauyaca waterfall which was a must for us, overall an amazing experience and great house, we definitely wish we could have stayed longer here. It was so nice to hang out on the deck in the morning and at night listening/looking for animals!

    Courtney2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved this cabin it has an incredible view and is in a very quite place. Everything was wonderful and Janet gave us good tips for delicious restaurants.

    Florent2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb was so beautiful. Kept clean. Was in a pretty quiet area but not to far from Dominical beach. We used the bus system to get around and that worked out really well. My favorite feature was the blender which was such a perk to have with all the delicious fruits in the area. & The view is absolutely amazing.

  • It’s beautiful, perfect getaway.

    Carlos Andrés2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! You definitely need a 4x4, but the location was stunning with beautiful vegetation, lots of gorgeous birds, and a pool that looked over the ocean. We were even lucky enough to spot a sloth in a tree by the pool! Breakfasts were delicious as well. Ben and Nate were both great hosts- helpful in recommending places to see, good restaurants, and were happy book us tours. They have a few dogs and cats that made great company as well. The Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary is a must see.

    Robin2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place with à beautiful view ! We recommend it.

    Anne2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ben and Nate are amazing hosts. Everything was perfect. The Bungalow is even nicer than on the pictures. Nate also gave us some great advises for dinner and for activites.

    Noah2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Ben and Nate have created a beautiful place to enjoy nature with a luxurious twist. The spacious cabina with personal patio combined with a shared but essentially private pool and lounging space make the Tree of Life a great place to unwind and be immersed in nature. As other reviewers have said, the howler monkeys, birds, butterflies, and garden ensure that you get the Costa Rica jungle experience. Ben and Nate are great hosts!

    Ann2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Book this place! Ben and Nate are simply the best! Minutes from beautiful beaches, amazing banana bread and smoothies in the morning, clean space, 3 adorable dogs, crystal clear pool, what more could you ask for? We spent 3 nights at TLC and easily could’ve stayed longer. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and Ben and Nate welcomed us and made us feel right at home. Don’t wait to book this place, you’ll be glad you didn’t miss out!

    Alison2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nate and Ben have a special retreat for discerning travelers. The cottages are set high on the hill surrounded by a tamed jungle with toucans, monkeys, hummingbirds and butterflies. There are views of the ocean and a cool pool awaits. Everything is simple and tasteful. Costa Rica at its best!

    Marion2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are super warm, open and helpful people. In addition to the main house there are three (or four?) Apartments which are fully equipped and in any case correspond to European standards and are very tastefully decorated. The communal pool with adjoining lounge is also very nice - including sea view. You can tell, that the hosts with heart are in the thing. We can recommend the accommodation without problems for several days !! - If you do not cook yourself there are also restaurants in the area or you can have breakfast for $ 15. The property can only be reached by 4x4 car. The nearest supermarket is also only accessible by car.

  • The house is wonderful, wifi was good, location and views were awesome!!! Ivannia was great to communicate with. Definitely will be coming back!

    Cheryl2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our visit to this house, one of the best value for money for life in our many Airbnb experiences. The residence is located in the small village of Hatillo. The house has a variety of very beautiful floral trees. The sunsets are breathtaking. It is far from the main roads which makes it a haven of peace. The beautiful beaches of Playa Linda and Playa Matapalo are located very close and are perfect for families, swimming. In Matapalo, we hiked on the beach and the guide, Claudia, showed us several specifics of the place including 4 lazy! The Nauyaca Falls are also close by and worth a visit. The village of Dominical is also close by and there are many good restaurants, including Phat Noodle and El Fuego. It's as easy to get to Uvita as it is to Manuel Antonio Park. In short, a great busy week for us. The only glitch that we had was that there were too many cleaning products in the pool which caused our little daughter to burn slightly. We didn't get to enjoy it much, which was one of the reasons we chose this place. On the other hand, Ivannia quickly sent someone to try to correct the problem, but unfortunately it is not easy and quick to bring the water back to a stable level. I believe that we were unlucky on this point and that it is not a usual problem, to read the comments of the previous travelers. I advise future travelers to advise Ivannia of the number of beds you plan to use based on the number of people you will be. We were 4 people and 2 beds were fitted, while we needed 3 beds (1 couple, 1 child, 1 grandmother). However, Ivannia had the situation corrected quickly and at no cost, but by giving advance notice, everything will be ready as soon as you arrive. We really recommend this place to future travelers.

    Simon2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have enjoyed our stay more! Ivannia’s communication was prompt and helpful, and the house was a perfect oasis after all our daily adventures. The pool, wildlife and view were all superb.

  • Excellent

    Esteban2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a peaceful environment, stunning view, outdoor living and a private awesome pool, stop searching, this is the place. The kitchen it totally separated from both bedroom which are separated from eachother. As many Costa Rica road, a small SUV is better to reach the site. Well located between Manuel Antonio and Dominical, you can easily spend a week and more in the area.

    Samuel2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Paradise! That's the best word to describe this property. We spent an incredible week her - perfect jumping off point for Quepos, Dominical, Uvita and even Sierpe. The house was amazing and had absolutely everything you could need. We loved hanging out at the pool - and even had monkeys come through a few times! The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. I can not recommend this property enough - we look forward to coming back!

    Danielle2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great house! It would be perfect for a family or for two couples. Sunsets in the pool were amazing!! Just a quick three minute trek up the hill from Hatillo. The place is very safe & secure too!

With its stunning backdrop of lush green forests and palm trees, this beach is also a great place to bird watch or take a canopy tour of the surrounding locale. Besides Dominical beach, the house is close to other beaches perfect for those looking to relax or those looking to surf. 5 km from the house is Playa Linda, one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches in the area. Other beaches within 20 km of the house are Playa Guapil, Playa Dominical, Playa Dominicalito and Playa Hermosa. Only 30-45 minute’s drive from the house, you can easily visit two amazing national parks (Manuel Antonio and Marino Ballena in Uvita), some breath-taking waterfalls - most notably Nauyaca waterfalls, great rivers for rafting, and many other great nature and adventure tours. Manuel Antonio and Marino Ballena National Park are equipped with shower and changing facilities, allowing you to explore Manuel Antonio and Uvita after you visited the park. If you feel adventurous, plan a day-trip to Los Quetzales National Park: it’s an amazing and enchanting cloud forest where you will see many bromeliads and birds. The drive is 2-2.5 hours one way.
  • We had a great time and the kids especially liked the pool. We saw two Toucans in the morning as well! Ivan gave a great tip to visit Playa Linda, which was our favorite beach along the coast!

    Timothy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really liked the house! We really enjoyed the time here! The area is wonderful. The first surf lessons in Dominical were awesome! We also really liked Playa Linda. Even in the evening at sunset! Picturesque! Ivan looked after us very well and was extremely quick with his answers via Whatsapp! Everything great!

    Hannes2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house is wonderful!!! It’s very nice and new and modern and the view and pool and gardens are stunning. We loved the location (not too far off the main road but very private). The concierge, Ivan, was so helpful and a great communicator. He waited for us even though we arrived late on our first day. And he answered allllll my questions prior to and during the trip very quickly! We enjoyed watching the sunset from the pool. We saw lots of birds and even some toucans around the house in the trees. We loved having a kitchen and did a mix of eating in and out all week. They had things like salt and pepper, coffee filters, zip loc bags, garlic powder and a few other spices. Also great WiFi. Suggestions for your trip: have the chef come prepare a meal or two for you. We did this mid-week for dinner but wish we would’ve done it earlier bc we had lots of yummy leftovers like guacamole and pico! We enjoyed having massages done at the house (arranges by Ivan). There are lots of great restaurants in Dominical! And the best beach was Dominicalito- go for the day and walk, sit in the shade of the trees by the beach, rent a surfboard, get a smoothie at the little restaurants by the beach! It was amazing. Lots of great shells and just gorgeous! We rented a 4wd- for sure need one in CR. Also, we flew into San Jose and went to Wal Mart to get food basics then got other stuff locally near the house. Might be smart to pack a soft sided cooler and get some cold stuff to bring on the drive to the house.... there’s so much to do in that area between Uvita and Quepos- fishing, hiking, waterfalls, animals... we can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend the house! Thankful for a great week!

    Courtney2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lars & Paul have created an amazing place to rest, relax and take in the amazing views. Ivan took care of all our needs and questions, such a great resource. We will definitely be back!

    Allan2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lars and Paul's place is beautiful. New, modern and with quality appliances furnishings through out. The pool and view were amazing and it's a short drive to Dominical for great surf and good restaurants. Awesome place!!

    Paul2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing short of AMAZING

    Marcella2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Dreamy home in the hills and nestled in the town of Hatillo. The pool, the view, the bedding, beds and sofas are first rate! We arrived early in the morning and Ivan was there to greet us after arranging our lovely taxi from the Sun Jose airport. Great activities close to the house: Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary is a must!! You will see 2 resident sloths, tons of monkeys and learn a lot about how Costa Rica fights to protect wildlife in the rainforest. Hacienda Baru is a beautiful preserve to see wildlife in its natural habitat a few minutes from the property and Nauyaca Falls are 20 min away and an amazing hike with the proper shoes (you can go alone and park with a 4x4 or book a horse ride or a truck ride) Uvita beaches are beautiful and less congested than Dominical beach. Dominical restaurants are amazing for sushi, breakfast and dinner! You will need a 4x4 for the house and Ivan can arrange to have one delivered. Ivan also arranged for a chef to come to the home on Mew Years eve and it was so with it. The food was amazing and he even cleaned the kitchen at the end of the evening. Don’t hesitate to book this home!

    Sean2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow - it was just amazing! Wonderful house, nice pool, stunning view from the terrace and the bedroom, lovely garden and excellent communication with the property managers. We enjoyed it very much and had an excellent stay. It was the best air bnb experience we’ve had so far. Highly recommend<3!

Cleanly rustic-modern lines with outdoor / indoor living in an amazing setting perched over the jungle and Dominicalito beach. This house is great for independent and adventurous people who want to get away in a very private abode, have beautiful views and wildlife, yet have the Dominical town and ocean 10-15 minutes away in a car.. The openness of the living area allows for an open breeze, closeness to wildlife and views, with glassed-in protection as an option for the sleeping quarters.
2-bedroom private house on 15 acres with incredible views of sunset, Dominicalito Beach and Manuel Antonio in the distance. Bedrooms and bathrooms have full walls, windows with glass or screens. Living/dining space is open-living , having low walls with open space above them and open space as doorways, easily leading to surrounding flat lawns, garden, fruit trees on immediate premises and magestic views from all sides. Wildlife viewing abounds. This 1700 sq. ft. home is perched above the jungle at the top of 2 slopes. The sides are protected with hedging plants. The side behind the house has an old growth forested cliff, which can often create an incredible breeze throughout the house and lowers the temperature in the house. We are located at the top of the foothills, thus you can expect an 9 minute adventurous climb up from Dominicalito Beach, on a gravel road that crosses a creek. There is footbridge on the creek in case of the rare huge storm and limited high water crossing by car. The road is well maintained but 4wd is the norm. Dominicalito Beach has a calmer vibe with fishing and beginner surf being the focus, and a local waterfall to swim in incredibly close by. Dominical beach and town is 5 minutes further north and is a bustling surf town with world class surf, restaurants, stores, tourist info, etc. South by 15 minutes is Uvita with lots of banks, restaurants, 2 large grocery stores, mechanics, medical daytime clinics, pharmacies, and the gas station. 10 minutes south of Uvita is Ojochal, which has many Europeans and great restaurants. 45 minutes north of our house is bustling Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park and another hospital. There are two bedrooms that are glassed in. The upstairs bedroom is a very large room with a full bath suite that includes a walk in shower with an amazing view. There is a custom built queen bed with 2 extra single mattresses to put on the floor in case you need them. You can sleep up to 4 people in this bedroom. Outside the upstairs bedroom is a huge veranda-yoga platform overlooking the jungle canopy and ocean. It is a great spot to see monkeys and toucans at dawn and dusk. The downstairs bedroom has a sliding glass door for easy access to the garden, with a 1/2 bath indoors. There is an outdoor cold shower close by. Open air living / dining / kitchen space with custom modern furniture made by the owner. Lock-down bodega has pull down metal garage door in the kitchen allowing for security in the open downstairs living area. You would close this when leaving or at night. Covered laundry room with a washing machine in outdoor laundry space and lots of lines for air drying. Wireless 2gb internet is available for your own devices, but please keep in mind it is not perfect due to Costa Rica conditions. One can usually use social media and stream movies and music, but the storms and falling trees can occasionally make the internet temporarily spotty.
The house is located in a very uniquely private end of a mountain road in the jungle. We have a few neighbors on the top of the hill with us, but most us have 10-15 acres and are spread out and separated by valleys. You will have a quick drive up or down from the main town and will have access to restaurants, rental shops, stores, etc
  • What an amazing spot! A beautiful home with knockout views, lovely gardens, and tropical breezes. It is located up the side of a steep gravel/dirt drive that initially seemed intimidating, but Jillian’s directions were perfect. As the description states, a 4 x 4 vehicle IS a must! Marvin, the caretaker, met us when we arrived and made sure we understood Jillian’s detailed written instructions for the house, and Jillian checked in via email as well. The home is open to the air aside from bedrooms and bathrooms-we slept comfortably every night and loved being immersed in nature during the day. The kitchen is very well appointed-we cooked breakfast daily and enjoyed fresh star fruit from the tree in the front yard. The upstairs porch was the perfect spot to read a book and enjoy the breeze. We heard howler monkeys nightly-saw toucans and parrots daily. We loved it here!

  • This place was so perfect for our trip! It is close enough to town that you can easily drive down there but far enough away that you don’t feel like you’re in the middle of it all. We did get a bit lost trying to find the place the first time, but Jillian called me right away to direct us and it was really easy once we knew the way. The views from the house are amazing and so much wildlife! We saw toucans, bats, iguanas, frogs, geckos, and so many types of plants, fruit trees and flowers. Every morning we woke up to the most beautiful bird sounds and howler monkeys. They also provided an entire binder of local suggestions for us that we used multiple times and helped us immensely. We loved our stay and would absolutely go back for round two. Thanks Jillian and Jeff!

  • This place is absolutely magical. Jillian is an awesome host. I booked the place quite early and she helped me plan out my trip and accommodated any changes that I had to make as I got closer to my stay. She replies very quickly and is so helpful with answering questions and offering suggestions. She also put me in touch with someone to help book activities (we went zip lining and snorkeling). Marvin, the care taker of the place, is the sweetest, most joyful person! He greeted us with a warm Costa Rican welcome which made our trip start off on such a great note. Loved this place and experience so much. Highly recommend!

  • Jillians' place was beyond our expectations. The house is spacious and well appointed with hot water shower and fully equipped kitchen. There is a wonderful deck on the second floor upon which we sat each night to watch sunset, toucans and the odd bat. The open concept is fantastic, you are "one with nature" . Close by are beautiful waterfalls (visit Nauyaca and Aso Pozul), beaches and nature preserves. Can't say enough.

    Jill2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible place! The house is beautiful and has wonderful jungle and ocean views. Close enough to everything you need yet far enough away you can really relax. We would definitely stay here again!

    Aubrie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing home! Clean and Jillian was so responsive. The drive up is crazy but worth it, we’ll recommend to all our friends visiting the area.

    Shay2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Jillian's place for a family vacation and it absolutely exceeded our expectations! We felt so relaxed waking up to the amazing views every morning. Like many others have said, the pictures do not do the locale justice. TIP: A 4x4 is a MUST if you plan on staying here. The road to the house is, well, in the jungle after all. Communication with Jillian was quick and easy and her neighbor even helped us book some unforgettable tours and trips. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely stay again!

    Daria2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jillian's house was spectacular. I got to eat breakfast with monkeys in the trees, have toucans fly around as I showered and enjoyed spectacular views. The open house is amazing and perfect for the jungle environment! Very close to the wonderful little town of dominical and many other beaches. If this is open when you are traveling, dont hesitate to book!

  • Really nice spot near several beaches. We had to leave early because of the COVID-19 outbreak and the host was very understanding

  • Stay here! Very clean, excellent location, excellent price, very safe/ secure, the front porch and overall homey touches make you feel right at home while on vacation! Highly recommend staying at Adriano’s place.

    Alicia2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is an adorable little cabin with plenty of privacy, but quick and easy access to the host, who lives on the property also. We had a few very minor issues that were dealt with almost immediately. It's located off a main highway which provides easy travel to close beaches such as Domincal and Matapalo and the Quepos and Uvita beaches are relatively close also. Adriano and his wife were most gracious. Highly recommend!!

    Kimberly2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The best airbnb we went to. Really clean, near 3 beaches, little shops and activities. Sylvia and adriano respond really fast to our mail and they gave us tips to get the best of our trip. The carambola is beautiful ❤🐒

  • A wonderful place to rest and clear!

  • Cute and adorable location. We got to meet Silvia she was amazing and super sweet made us feel super welcomed.

    Esmeralda2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Adriano's place was my first stop on the trip to Costa Rica. Him and his wife Silvia provided us with great tips and a list of activities way in advance of the trip. It was very thoughtful of them! Their property is great and is located a little away from the hustle bustle of Manuel Antonio but very close to nature and the associated activities. You have access to 2 great beaches (Linda and Dominical) and Silvia provided us with the beach essentials like an umbrella and Boogie board. The highlight of our stay was their hospitality! Silvia welcomed us with such warmth and set us up on a 2 day adventure in the areas around Manuel Antonio, connecting us to the right people to guide the tours. I really wish we could for longer at this paradise! Their cottage is just ideal for people looking to get some time alone with nature. The house is well equipped with a functional kitchen and a pretty well curated shelf of books. Our experience with hosts like Adriano and Silvia makes Airbnb so special.

The Joglo Tree house villa is an antique 180-year-old traditional farmhouse from the Java Islands of Indonesia. Tucked away on a private mountain top 20 acre estate just outside Dominical in Costa Rica, Joglo is a huge 1BR 1000 square foot home with another 900 sq ft wrapped around porch, featuring a private pool. The Balinese villa is hidden among the lush tropical Rain Forest and will create an unforgettable and sensory stimulating stay unlike any other in Central America.
Imagine ... staying in a 180 year old home from Bali 1900 feet above the jungle surrounded by ancient carvings and greeted by monkeys, toucans, sloths and forest filled with life and wonder. The Joglo Tree House is located on a 20 acre property surrounded by 1000 acres of lush jungle with great 180 degree ocean views from Manuel Antonio to the Osa peninsula in the South. Luxuriously private in style, nature filled Balinese structure that lends itself to easy soothing vibes, you’ll see sunsets from your wrap around porch, have our on campus chef prepare wonderful food, enjoy relaxing on-call massage and use our home as your own home base while in Pura Vida Costa Rica.
The incredible balance of sand, sea and mountains makes Dominical a destination worth traveling to. It has clockwork sunsets with a fiery glaze, and dark volcanic sands that warm the ocean to balmy temperatures. Moments away from the beach are pools of fresh water and natural waterfalls that cascade down the mountainside. Dominical lays on the Southern Pacific Ocean and is bordered to the north by the Río Barú, a freshwater river that runs from the mountains into the ocean. creating a rushing current that you can find and track as you walk along the beach. To the east 3000-foot mountains create a cloud forest, and to the south dark volcanic ash creates coffee colored beaches and coves. Since the main part of the town of Dominical is set slightly back from the beach, it seems to magically disappear as you drift into the water, leaving only the tall beach palms and mangroves surrounded by fertile green hills to guide you along the coastline. The international surfing community has known Dominical Costa Rica for many years. It became a destination in the early seventies by a group of spirited and dedicated surfers, and because of its consistently good waves Dominical has steadily gained in popularity over the last 30 years. The town has become a haven for surfers, with local restaurants offering “Starving Surfer” specials and nonstop surf videos. The unusual conditions of the beach give the surf its size, dependability and the gentle run off and white water splash that also make it perfect for learning. The wave is a beach break with a twist that originates from the mouth of the Río Barú to the north. The river empties out of the mountains to the east and deposits sediments that form into a sand bar that spreads like a pair of sleepy rabbit ears north and south of the mouth. Only recently have people discovered and been attracted by its natural beauty. Not more than fifteen years ago the only buildings to be found were a few dilapidated fishing huts built by local fishermen. Since then the town has grown to over 700 permanent residents with a number of small beachfront restaurants, bars and cabins. Even with the emergence and growth of the town, it is possible to walk from one end of Dominical to the other in less than ten minutes. The area surrounding Dominical, especially to the south, is almost completely unpopulated. Because of this, the area is full of hundreds of different species of exotic animals including; three different types of toucans, giant green and red iguanas, all four types of native monkeys, parrots of all sizes and hues, three toed sloths and various small cats such as jaguarondis and montegordos. There are two national reserves (Hacienda Baru) in the immediate area, and three more only an additional hour and a half away (Manuel Antonio National Park, Corcovado National Park and Caño Island National Preserve) . To the south is the country’s underwater national park, Marino Ballena. Here it is possible to see a pristine underwater world with scores of multi-colorful marine creatures, coral reefs and jagged, ash black, volcanic rocks and tide pools. In a country full of beautiful views, lush landscapes, tropical attractions, and cloud forests, Dominical has the perfect balance between walking on soft sand or hiking along fresh water streams.

  • We loved this place! The view, the pool, the beautiful woodwork, the jungle noises, the outdoor bathtub!! It was like a jungle palace. It was a little hard to find and 4wd is absolutely necessary but this place is amazing. Also, have Pedro cook for you at least once. I had the falafel and it was the best meal of the whole trip. He also makes you feel like you were invited into his home for a meal. Thank you Pedro, 5 stars hands down. Thank you everyone!!

  • I can’t even begin to explain how amazing our experience was. It was dark when we checked in- so we weren’t able to see how amazing everything was at first so I recommend getting there a little earlier in the day. They were extremely communicative with us over what’s app - they even checked on us and brought us coffee in the morning. We opted to do the dinner with Pedro. HIGHLY recommend - it was a truly humbling experience and the food was abundant and simply remarkable. Staying here was the highlight of our Costa Rican journey. Thank you to this team a hundred times.

  • We had such an amazing time staying at Jake's place. The pictures don't do it justice, it was so relaxing and peaceful. Esteban was very helpful and attentive, I cant say enough about how great we were treated while we were there. We would recommend this place to our friends and family. We hope to visit again in the near future.

  • The villa is now the site of my favorite vacation experience of all time. Beautiful space, every last detail was special, the placement of the bed to watch the sunset, the outdoor shower, the pool and hot tub (also a great place to watch sunset), the amenities, the on site services were better than any Ive ever experienced. The Chef and the massages made for an amazing birthday vacation. This space provides an experience that is hard to forget.

Tropical Villa with million dollar ocean and jungle views in an area renowned for surfing and wildlife. My home has 4/5 bedrooms ( 2 futons in one room), 5 bathrooms and an exquisite infinity edge pool as well as expansive covered outdoor spaces from which to enjoy the best of Costa Rica. This home was designed to take in nature and take advantage of the views. You will have privacy, but will only be 4 minutes from the quaint village of Dominicalito, and 5 minutes to the beach.
Stunning views and a comfortable home in a private, tropical jungle paradise. The pool is amazing and a surfing mecca is minutes away!
The home is at the end of a private road with only one other house on it.
  • This house was freaking AMAZING! We were very thankful for the opportunity of staying in this wonderful house with its breathtaking view. The host was super nice and helpful with directions and the house was beyond incredible. You will be completely surrounded by nature and have the most peaceful stay!

  • Stunning views, a large comfortable home...a truly magical place for 7 old friends from various northeastern cities to spend time with each other in lovely, warm Dominicalita! A spacious and modern kitchen, comfortable, air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms, a screened room with comfy furniture for cocktail hour, a terrific infinity pool, and of course a magical sunset each night whose beauty only rivaled the one before. The road up is definitely a challenge, but not so much that it stopped me from hiking on it every morning, where I saw toucans, agoutis and coatis. A great location to see Hacienda Baru (saw monkeys, sloths, peccaries, and bats), go kayaking in the mangroves, and an easy hour’s drive from Manuel Antonio National Park, where monkey families abounded. We cooked in (since there was no better place to watch the sunset), and also enjoyed area restaurants. Try La Parcela for lunch - the tuna tartare is among the best I’ve had, the monkeys came to visit one day, and the walk along the path afterward to the ocean is beautiful. We are already talking about going back!

  • This was a beautiful place to stay. The pool was amazing the view was amazing. Driving up to it is an adventure. Morry was great and responsive when we had any issues. The wildlife was great to listen to felt 6 you were right in the middle of the jungle. Dominical was a very nice surfer town. Overall loved my experience there.

  • We had the absolute best time here. The view is unbelievable. We got used to the bumpy drive up the road , but once up there it makes it all worth it . We traveled with our two young children (ages 6 and 3) and their grandparents - and we found this house perfect for all of us. It was truly the most beautiful home I’ve ever stayed in! We heard howlers every morning - we even saw white faced monkeys come visit us as we were on the balcony! The sofa area was the most incredible place to watch the sunset . We saw toucans fly every day. The wAterfall down the road is so beautiful. Dominical has our hearts - and we would definitely return to this place. Thanks Morry!

Wild and private, valley and mountain views. It's a 15 minute drive to a beautiful beach and a 10 minute walk to the river. A trail through the jungle takes you down to the creek . Designed to make the most of the spectacular jungle setting, the living space opens onto the pool deck, creating the perfect environment for socializing, swimming and enjoying nature . No stairs, walker/cane accessible. (see video Casa Loro Verde on You Tube!).
The pool is tucked up to the house so the forward edge is in shade, making it possible to enjoy a dip in mid day without over exposure to the sun. This closeness also puts the focal point around the pool, which is always inviting you to step into the cooling water. The large folding doors push out of the way to create a seamless indoor to outdoor experience and takes full advantage of the wild setting. The beds are netted for extra mosquito protection and the bedrooms have air-conditioning. The twin beds in the second bedroom convert to a king bed.
Our home is in a small community with 9 homes, on large lots, stretched along a ridge. One side of the Ridge looks out over the Pacific Ocean and the other side looks into the forested river valley and mountains. The wildlife is abundant and includes toucans, parrots, monkeys, sloths, anteaters, reptiles and facinating insects, just to name a few. The house faces away from humanity toward the jungle and is great for bird watching.
  • Paradise found. Look no further, this is it.

  • An Eden in the jungle.

  • A resounding 5 stars! But, can I give 10? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m not quite sure where to start. Because everything about the house/property totally exceeded our expectations. The house is 3+ hours from San Jose. We wanted something that was away from the city (a nice little road trip), but near lots of nice beaches, towns, etc so we could explore, eat some great food, etc. This house hit all the marks. (Don’t forget your 4WD car!) First of all, the house is BEAUTIFUL and SO well though out. So tasteful: pretty dishes, lovely art on the walls. It is also very well stocked, with everything you need to cook at home (and plenty of towels). The giant retractable doors are quite the statement, and the AMAZING views are stunning. We would wake up at 6, open them up, and enjoy the view with our coffee (and all day long). The pool was a big selling point, and from waking to bedtime the kids would be in and out of it all. day. long. The house/property is so quiet, secluded, and safe: it really was a respite. 15 min from Playa Matapalo. 30 from Dominical (which had some delicious restaurants). 20 from a large grocery store. Really, the location was great! Not so far from things that you feel isolated; just your own personal tropical paradise as you sit outside overlooking the rainforest, looking and listening for wildlife, as the clouds settle over the mountain tops. There is a smaller waterfall on the property, and also a larger one at the bottom of the hill that leads to the house that is totally secluded and WOW. They also recommended someone for a canopy zip line tour that was amazing, and we also did a mangrove monkey tour. Just the best of everything. Truly. We are already talking about when we can come again. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing home with us!!

    Ulrike2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a special place. My family and I throughly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful rainforest home. Our one and only sloth encounter we just a look to the left from the “driveway”. The sounds of mornings and evenings will stay with us as cherished memories. The birds and butterflies were such treat. I can’t say enough about this gem and have gladly recommended it to others.

    Amy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views, very private. Terry was very helpful! We would come back!

    Jenna2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beyond gorgeous, it’s tucked away in the hills south of Quepos, completely private and serene but not so far away from things to feel unsafe. Terry met us along the highway since the house and turnoff are very hard to find at first. Any questions or problems we had Terry would be down immediately to check it out since he lives close. If you’re iffy about it being an open style home- don’t be. It’s amazing being able to feel the fresh air of the day or night everyday and fall asleep to the sounds of the forest, and there are are ways to close off those crevices under the doors to ensure no bigger critters get in. You’ll find yourself not wanting to leave the house, rather spend your day poolside sipping on fresh Costa Rican coffee. This is a great area for those that are trying to skip the whole touristy scene, you’re close to some attractions and plenty of beaches but there aren’t a million people around to make you question your sanity. I suggest surfing lessons with Raymond at Dominical Surf Adventures which is a 20 min drive or Playa Matapolo for ocean swimming. Everything you could need is provided in the home for cooking and the washer and dryer is a lifesaver. I can go on and on about this place but bottom line is it’s a breathtaking home with views I’ll remember for the rest of my life and an outdoor shower for a highly spiritual experience. I’ll definitely be returning to this home in my lifetime.

  • A wonderful place to relax in and enjoy that beautiful country. If you decide to stay in the area, do go to Casa Loro Verde. Absolutely loved it and enjoyed every minute of being there.

    Birgit2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Loro Verde was magnificent. To start we were greeted by Donna and Terry, who made us feel right at home. They were so accommodating and allowed us to book last minute when the place we were staying in had no water. They are exactly what I think of when I think of super hosts. They were not expecting guest and yet the place was immaculate and well stocked and they were so kind. Upon entering the house we were pleasantly surprised by all the warm furnishings and modern conveniences. It was beautifully decorated and even more impressive was the view. It was heavenly and taking it all in from the infinity pool made it even better. Would definitely recommend Loro Verde!

  • We could not have dreamed of such a wonderful place. The house, the view, the amenities, the house simplicity, the locations, the surroundings, they care and support of the host...ALL were exemplary. It caged a state of nirvana for us. When coming back to Costa Rica this is where I'll want to stay. Terry was phenomenal to us. We could not have been happier. Thank you.

  • Magnificent warm and perfectly equipped house. Very well located with a breathtaking view of the ocean. We spent 2 weeks of pure happiness there. It was a perfect stay thanks among other things to the beauty of the landscape, the sunsets all more beautiful than the others, the outdoor kitchen equipped with a fridge and a BBQ, the infinity pool, the comfort of the beds , and an almost deserted beach about 15 minutes from the house. Very good communication with the host. Excellent welcome by the sympathetic Terry. And a delicious meal prepared by Wil and his son. Ideal house for 4 people Absolutely perfect vacation!

    Nathalie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and totally private. Communication was excellent. Fantastic pool. If you are unsure whether to stay here or in a hotel, stay here! Restaurants a bit limited in the immediate area but easy access to Dominical and Quepos. It was the perfect stop for us as part of our Costa Rica adventure.

    Louise2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Best sunrise, pool is magic, all you need. Very well equipped and host are great.

  • We stayed at Marafiki for 5 nights and wished we had more time there! The drive to the house from the highway is quite bumpy and we did have to put our SUV in 4x4 on occasion, so I’d recommend that (esp if there’s any rain). The house was clean, offered a lot of amenities from cookware, grill items, lots of towels and nice linens, and a washer and dryer. The views are stunning and floating in the pool was a great way to take them in. The living area was comfortable for 4 adults to enjoy hanging out. Terry and Donna were very nice and responsive and even showed us a nice place for dinner just down the road. We had great weather for our trip, with just a few sprinkles. You are in the jungle, so there were lots of cicada and gecko visitors but nothing bothersome. We definitely would stay here again!

  • My husband and I had an incredible stay at Casa de Marafiki! The hosts were extremely accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our experience. The home is beautiful with so many extra amenities. The pool was pristine and clean and had the most amazing view. We loved the BBQ and we used it a couple times for yummy homemade meals. Kitchen is fully equipped with plates, cups, utensils, and even condiments, spices, and garlic! The house manual that is sent after booking is extremely helpful with info on restaurants, excursions, beaches, etc. The drive up and down the house everyday was an adventure and definitely recommend a 4x4 as other reviews have mentioned. Highly recommend Casa de Marafiki!

    Nora2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is exactly as advertised, spotless, and has a gorgeous view. The bird life (including three toucans) around the property was amazing. Bedrooms were quiet, beds were quite comfortable, and the AC was very welcome! If you don't want to be up at sunrise, bring a sleep mask. Bathrooms were spacious and bath linens were good quality and plentiful. The kitchen was well equipped -- which was a relief since we ate all our meals at the house -- and the main living area was spacious enough for four, although we barely used it. The outdoor kitchen / dining / pool area was where we spent most of our time. It was great to have a wine / beer fridge handy and just unwind with a book and a view! The pool was awesome for cooling down after a day of exploring and the perfect place to watch the sunset. Bring bug spray, because the mosquitoes come out at sundown and the geckos can't keep up! Terry escorted us to the property from the highway turnoff and gave us an orientation to the house -- he was very informative, responsive, and helpful. The house is close to Quepos where we did our grocery shopping and visited the fish market for delicious shrimp and red snapper. We visited Manuel Antonio park and highly recommend a guided tour to get the most out of the wildlife sightings and regional history. Although it's a bit of a drive from San Jose (or you can take a commuter flight to Quepos), it was worth it to be away from the holiday crowds and in our own jungle oasis.

  • We stayed two weeks at Marifiki. The views and sunsets were amazing, loved the outdoor BBQ and eating area, very clean, great amenities, and a great place to relax! We enjoyed being off the beat and path yet still close enough to the Ocean for morning runs and surf. We saw many types of birds and animals.

Dominical is a small beach town, with world-class surf and beautiful sunsets. There are several good restaurants and cafes, decent supermarkets, a bank and a pharmacy. There are a multitude of amazing outdoor experiences, tours and adventures to be had, which we can help arrange. Occasionally there is interesting night life although Dominical is more of a daytime place.
  • High vibrational energy laced throughout the beautiful space. The beds were super comfy and the breakfast that is included is really yummy- Rice and beans and fruit! The outdoor bamboo showers were also a great addition. We wanted to stay another night but they were completely booked up!

  • Relaxing place, which transports you to the natural, with excellent rooms. Recommended!! And recommended your yoga classes !!

    Pepe2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed there one night in July 2019. Exactly as described. Very clean and Neema (who worked at the Eco Resort) was very helpful with suggestions, accommodations, etc. It is located right on the main street. Easy to walk to restaurants, cafes, etc. Parking was safe and in the back. The air conditioning worked very well. We HIGHLY recommend eating at Phat Noodle for dinner and Cafe Mono Congo for brunch, coffee or lunch. Both restaurants had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. I can't compare to any other place in Domincal, since this was our first time there...but we do recommend staying here if you are going to the beach or checking out the beautiful Nauyaca Waterfalls.

    Matthew2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Neema was so kind and helpful!! Truly divine people at Danyasa. Candlelit yoga was beautiful. The breakfast provided was tasty & healthy. Ruby the cat was a great host as well. ❤️

  • What an awesome place to end my great trip to Costa Rica. The reviews before me are all accurate: you will simply love this place. Beyond the amazing hospitality, the people that I met here were also equally awesome and friendly. I will definitely stay here again.

    Kourosh2019-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • The private room with a shared bathroom was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The pool and relaxation areas are wonderfully designed and arranged. The shared bathroom/shower had great water pressure but it was a bit difficult to control the temperature. We were disappointed with the size of the room and the placement of the bed as only 1 out of 4 sides is open to the room, making it difficult when there is more than 1 person in the room. The shared wall was also paper thin and we could hear when the other guest was washing hands/getting clothes off of the hangers. They offer a free breakfast and discounted yoga classes, which is a great addition to the space. The location is great, right in the middle of the action and the woman working there was delightful and very accommodating, you can tell she enjoys her job. We did feel it was a little overpriced for the area, but we were there during a festival so maybe they upped the prices a bit to meet demand, either way, if you are willing to spend the money it is a great stay!

    Million-dollar views with rustic accommodations.
The Dominical Adventure Treehouse rests 300 feet above the ocean, with front row wide open ocean views. Enjoy the  Wildlife viewing platform with views to the south for morning coffee, and the Sunset yoga platform with a view up the coast to the west and watch the Sun melt into the ocean at sunset.  Cool off in the Infinity plunge pool, or sit in the shade of the open air common areas and enjoy the lush vegetation, flowers, trees, bananas, and fresh air.  There are numerous picturesque spaces to find peace and serenity on the property, perfect for a retreat atmosphere, suitable for couples and small groups to spread out and have personal space…and every space, platform, and room has a view of the Pacific!  The property is in a gated community of 12 homes.  You are in paradise, this is my jungle home. Just short trip, one Quarter mile downhill to the Pacific Coast Highway, and less than 1 kilometer to downtown Dominical, a sleepy surf village with some amazing restaurants, a grocery store, spa and more. A separate structure on the property is undergoing renovations, but no construction happens while guests have the place booked. My other listing, "Las Plataformas" is the same space - the reason for a duplicate listing is so that returning guests still find the treehouse. When you book either, both listings get blocked, and there are no other guests on the property. It is a three level open-air house with one air-conditioned Master Bedroom w/King Bed, a full bath, kitchen and 3 double mattresses located on the second floor.    There is a TV with cable and wifi should you desire to plugin. The lot is steep and is overlooking an expansive view of the Pacific Ocean. The principle house is an open-air (except the air-conditioned Master Bedroom), wild, rainforest paradise with everything that entails.  Most guests have absolutely loved it, as I do when I am there, (and reviews attest.) Guests have had valid issues, often related to a lack of experience in this particular environment. Let me give some examples: In the rainforest, it rains - a lot. This is especially true in September and October, but on any day of the year, it can really pour. As a result, clients have not realized that when you leave for the day or go to sleep at night, especially if you leave things on the balcony they can get wet. There are insects - all kinds. We recommend using bug spray BEFORE you experience a bite.  Begin with it in the am (especially on the ankles) and touch up in the afternoon.  Prepared is best.   If you do not fully close (I mean airtight) the sugar container, you will get to see an amazing display of ant-work. Similarly, if you spill jelly and wipe it with your finger, it looks clean to a human but the ants can prove you wrong. A wasp nest can grow pretty big in just a couple days, and they like the shower in particular. It isn't a problem, and they don't bother you during a shower, but some clients don't like to see them under any circumstances, so my work crew knows to remove them, no matter how small. If you see one, just point it out, and they will take care of it. There are bigger animals too. My property attracts significant wildlife, monkeys, toucans, sloths, iguanas, etc. They do not hesitate to help themselves to any fresh fruit, bananas, and mangos you purchased for yourself - all food should be hung up in a plastic bag or bread items stored in Tupperware (provided).   I prefer guests to arrive before dark, if at all possible.  This often means driving directly to the property as it is located 4 hours south of San Jose, and the sunsets are earlier in Costa Rica around 5:30p-6p.   The Dominical Adventure Treehouse has been in development for years. It is my labor of love. I have built it for myself, and not for the rental business, per se, and decided last year to renovate it. When there are no guests scheduled, the work crew live on property Monday through Friday, while they renovate the treehouse. I have the work crew go home while guests have rented the place. For this reason, it is easier for me to rent it out Friday 1 PM until early Monday morning (typically 6 AM). In other words, weekends are best. For that reason, I am reluctant to accept guests during the workweek, unless they are aware of the above. Message me if this doesn't work and need alternate arrangements.
Other listings claim to be real close - I know them personally and many are not. Their provided maps can be deceiving. My neighborhood is literally 1 kilometer south of downtown Dominical, and a quarter mile climb up from there. That means the view is beyond compare and it is conveniently close. The neighborhood consists of much nicer homes that rent out for high dollar. Please respect other owners/guests.
  • Jeffrey was amazing host!!and tree house was just insane!!

    Yuta2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome! Views are amazing! We could not believe how beautiful this was. It made for an incredible end of the week stay. The pictures don’t even begin to do it justice. We loved the openness of the property, the private pool was spectacular! Having coffee out on the platforms in the morning was Pura Vida. We did get to see lots of local wildlife and the last morning saw three toucans flying around the trees. Clear and quick communication with Jeffrey we knew exactly how to get there, check in and take advantage of our time their. One day after our hike to Nauyaca Falls we made lunch in the kitchen so we could enjoy as much time there. You will not be disappointed. Reading other guests comments in a journal kept on property made it clear we are not the only ones that feel this way.

    Tim2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures do not do this place justice. It is gorgeous and so spacious. Jeffrey is an excellent host and has thought of every need.

  • Treehouse will not disappoint! Such an amazing view and gorgeous land. I dream of this place, it was my second time back and it truly is a dream!

    Jade2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? If there was 20 stars, it still wouldn't be enough. So much more than we ever could have expected. What an experience! Highly highly recommend.

    Brandee2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing, spectacular and special place. Nothing like sitting outside/inside drinking coffee and watching the waves crash and listening to the sounds of the jungle!

    Dawn2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Out of this world experience. I will certainly be back to enjoy the atmosphere and view from this unique house. I highly recommend treating yourself to what this house and the host have to offer!

    Michael2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the ultimate Glamping dream!! me and two of my besties had a girls trip here and it was the highlight of the trip for sure. We opted to sleep in the three beds upstairs under bug nets and fans on each bed and it was great, could hear the sounds of nearby wildlife and the sound of the ocean waves at night. Initial meeting was with Julio one of the caretakers of the place, he was very sweet but little english, he was able to FaceTime jeffrey and we asked all additional questions then and there. Place was really secure, looks like the ultimate place to retreat to if there's a zombie apocalypse, completely fortified with steel 15 ft gate with keys to lock and high fence with razor wire on back side of property. also there's like a mansion as a neighbor so pretty sure they aren't looking to snoop for things to steal. bug spray, soap, shampoo, coffee, and sunscreen available, very sweet touch He gave great recs for dinner in Domincal, the neighboring town (that's amazing and surfer chill, very "pura vida". we saw eco-chantales waterfall (45min drive with 4x4 vehicle), surfed, beached, drank with locals and danced at the rum bar one night, live music at fuego in dominical one night. highly recommend

This beautiful new home has incredible ocean views from every room! The main house has 2 bedrooms, 3 baths, a loft, and a great room with an infinity pool just steps away! A veranda wraps around the home for multiple seating areas to enjoy the oceans breezes, wildlife viewing. A separate Casita has a bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. The entire home is private, secure with a gated entrance. Inside living space is 1520 square feet, deck is 1027. *FULL SERVICE CONCIERGE, TOUR GUIDE AND CHEF! *fee
The home is very open to showcase the amazing views. It has everything you need for your "home away from home" Costa Rican experience! See our video Casa Mar Y Sol on You Tube! As you approach Casa Mar Y Sol, you will see both homes (main house and the Casita) nestled into the hillside of this 7 acre property. Coming up to the main house, you can stop to unload your luggage for the lower bedroom before proceeding up to the main level. No carrying your bags down the stairs. This lower level includes a private bedroom and full bathroom with shower and an outside covered sitting area. Perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a late night drink. A staircase leads from this sitting area directly to the main living space. Laundry facilities are also located on this level. Continuing up the driveway and around the infinity pool ( 15 ft x 31 ft width and length and 4-8 ft deep from shallow to deep end), you will arrive at the main parking area. A large covered patio alongside the pool leads to the upper entrance to the main house. On this floor you will find an airy and open kitchen and living space, with ceilings rising to 16 feet high. There is also a loft area that includes two single beds with a small divider, perfect for kids or teens. In the kitchen, the window is designed as a pass through which opens up to the pool and patio. Bar stools outside provide the perfect spot to sit and have a sun-downer as you watch the sunset. The master bedroom with en-suite (which includes double sinks and large walk in shower) is also located on this level. Patio doors provide private access to the deck and pool area, perfect for a midnight swim. There is also a powder room on this main level for all guests, which allows the en-suite bathroom to remain private. The third bedroom is located in a separate building (the Casita) on the second floor. This area includes an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower, as well as a convenience kitchen. The front deck overlooks the pool area and main house, and boasts one of the best views on the property. A perfect spot to have your morning coffee and listen to the birds. A short walkway leads directly to the pool and main house (less than 50 feet). This home is situated on an outcrop of the mountain and has been designed to take full advantage of the resulting ocean and mountain breezes. It includes multiple ceiling fans, and each bedroom is equipped with air conditioning. Each bedroom is completely private from the others. The house has been designed to maximize indoor/outdoor living. The living space opens to the pool area and front deck via large sliding glass panels. The Owners supported the local community by hiring local businesses for all home construction, as well as much of the furniture. The dining room table was made locally from Cenizero wood (a variety of Guanacaste). The bar stools, loft beds and bedroom furniture were also made locally out of Laurel wood. The tree stand art in the master bathroom was created by a local artist in Uvita while the second bedroom wall mural was painted by a local artist from Portalon. The palm frond roofs are made from 100% recycled plastic and the pool tile is an abalone finish (one of only two currently in Costa Rica).
Our home is located in a gated community just above the charming little village of Portalon. Portalon is located off of the coastal highway, halfway between Quepos/Manual Antonio and Dominical.
  • Scott & Christine's place is everything they described and more. The home is situated on top of a hillside looking down on nature with beautiful views of the ocean. Incredible sunset views. I would suggest a 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway to the home. One of our party did not have a four wheel drive and was not able to make all the way up the hill. Make sure you get groceries in either Herradura or Uvita as there are mini groceries near by but have limited groceries and can be a little high priced. Two restaurants that I would definitely suggest would be El Avion in Manuel Antonio area and Por Que No in Dominical area. Both have very good food with incredible views. This home is located in a great area with areas to explore all around. Playa Matapalo is a beautiful quiet beach with easy access from the home. Scott and Christine's place is a can't miss if you are planning on staying in this part of Costa Rica.

  • The place was absolutely stunning and the location is perfectly situated for a relaxing hide away. The infinity pool edge allows you to soak away some of the heated day while looking out to the Pacific in the distance. The house is set up to accommodate several couples with a separate cabana with an absolutely stunning view from the bedroom deck. We liked it so much this was our second booking at this location and we will ensure that we return next year. The setup they have on this site is protected by several gates for true safe privacy. Donna the host was a great help in providing information and making the connections up to the place seamless. I have already shared this link with some of my co-workers who are looking into this place as well.

  • There are many things to love about this beautiful, stylish, and well appointed home. My favorite was sitting on the deck in the morning with my cup of coffee watching the toucans fly in and the kiskadees greeting us by the pool. What a great view! This place was perfect for our family...us, our two children with partners, and three grandsons. The three couples all had private rooms with baths and the family area was great for game playng. We could not have found a better place.

  • True to its name Supreme Silencio, and Peaceful Place, these cabiñas are perfectly situated atop a peaceful mountain with a serene valley blow, sunrise and sunsets are spectacular, the vibe gets an A+++ , location needs a 4 X 4 to get up and down the mountain. but you never want to leave. The Cabiñas are set up to settle in and just enjoy the air and take in the breathtaking vista.

  • The place is really cool. A separate kitchen with bathroom and shower. In the back a washer and washing sinks. Two bedrooms that are kept cool due to the ventilation and fans (I am a roofing consultant). And an open huge living room, with tv. Unbelievable that there is basically no bugs, including mosquitos. So you will be living in three sections that make it really unique. Views at 1700 feet above sea level, are incredible and the overlooking valley view is breathtaking. They allowed to use their infinity pool and it was fantastic. A highly recommended host that we have become great friends. They will do anything that you need to make your vacation to be memorable. I can only give him 5 stars, the best number Air n B allows but it should be 6 or more. Thank you Jeff and Nando for a fantastic vacation and we will be back soon. DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!

  • The place is glamorous, very close to Nauyaca Falls and the beaches of the southern Pacific of Costa Rica. Jeff and Fernando's attention was very special, we felt really welcome. The set of different environments bedrooms, TV room, barbecue area, fire pit and kitchen area makes the space to be enjoyed in different ways. A beautiful pool looks towards the dawn which is a spectacle of multiple colors. Thanks Jeff and Fernando for your kind attention.

  • I don't even know where to start! We just returned and we already miss the sunrises over the valley seen directly from our beds, early morning sounds of the jungle, evening glasses of wine in open gazebo with fresh air while cooking fresh caught fish on the outside grill, infinity pool with the most gorgeous views, toucans flying above our heads and much more. First of all, the photos don't do a justice, very well thought amenities and layout, all in open concept, screens on the windows, always allowing the breeze in or a fog;) Outside Kitchen equipped with all for easy cooking is great as well as dining table in the gazebo to eat your meals with views to the jungle. Extra bathroom in the kitchen cabin area with outdoor shower which was my absolute favorite, even with a little snake peeking around, I take it! Jeff's and Nando's grounds are absolutely breathtaking and you can tell that they do their job right and take care about the hosts, from advising you visiting fun places until the last touches inside and are on hand to help with anything you need while you there. Our son spotted so many wild animals just walking around in this quiet serene place. Things we did and enjoyed and are close by without busy crowds or tourists overload: Artisan Chocolate tour in Hacienda Baru, Osa zipline tour, hiking jungle trail with guide at St.Lucia Falls near Uvita, local farmers market in Uvita and Dominical, swimming in waterfalls Cascada El Pavon, the best sweet treats and coffee in Mono Congo at Dominical as well as the ceviche stands by the roads there, Playa Hermosa to rent boogie board and much more. This place is close to all of this yet far to enjoy the serenity and real jungle feel, just to remember to do all shopping in advance and stock on your coffee and wine ahead! If you are all inclusive hotel/resort person with anything catered to you and don't like the nature or wildlife, maybe look elsewhere. If you are the nature, animal and adventure lover, you will absolutely love this place! Thank you Jeff and Nando for sharing your place with us, we will be back! K&M&J

  • Awesome place to stay for a relaxing and fun Costa Rican vacation! Thanks Fatima for all the help!! The pool at the house was a great touch plus there was a short walk to a beautiful and quiet beach! We also enjoyed the tour of Manuel Antonio National Park with Diego, he was super knowledgeable. The Matapalo surf camp was also great, we highly recommend the two tours.

    Darren2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool house..close to the beach. You actually hear the waves as you go to bed at night! The pool is great. If you have the chance take the horse ride tour at sunset.

    Annie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time during our stay. The house was beautiful and cool and clean. The location was close to everything we wanted to see and do. The short walk to the beach was easy and we had the beach all to ourselves! Fatima was absolutely wonderful and was there to answer all of our questions and help us get around!

    Jenn2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Monika’s house is perfectly located in the wilderness but still walking distance to the beach. The beach was beautiful, the waves are perfect for boogey boarding. We saw sloths in the trees, iguanas, lizards, parrots, crabs, birds everywhere. Fatima was so helpful, friendly, awesome! She was there for anything we needed, had answers to all our questions. The only negative thing I have to say is the beds are very hard.

    Grace2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a lovely and welcoming place to stay in Matapalo, Monika's place is it. The property is lovely and well tended, with a really nice pool and yard. Co-host Fatima made sure we were welcomed and well taken care of. We loved the abundance of wildlife in the yard and its proximity to the beach. We would recommend this place to anyone.

  • Great house a bit off the beaten path but with all the amenities. Wonderful experience!

    David2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house is exactly as presented and impressive. It’s in a secure area. It even has a small safe. We felt completely comfortable leaving our stuff. The co-host Fatima does a fantastic job. We saw a couple sloths in the yard and an abundance of lizards. The beach is a short (less than 5 minutes) walk and not crowded at all. The pool is an added bonus. We’ll stay here again.

    Mark2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The property is beautiful, very clean and luxurious. We did not miss anything during our stay. The pool and grounds are very well maintained. We felt safe throughout our stay. The beach is virgin paradise and super quiet. Fatima, who takes care of the property, is extremely kind. She does everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible and her smile is contagious. Our most memorable stay during our trip to Costa Rica. A unique family experience. PURA VIDA !!!!!

Our Bed and Breakfast is located 2 minute walk from the beach and surrounded by a lovely tropical garden where monkeys and sloths are seen very regularly. Observe them from your hammock at your outdoor living area or from the lounge deck next to the swimming pool. You can cool down in our pool enjoining a refreshing drink from the swim-up bar. All rooms come with a private patio, air-conditioning, a big king size bed, a private bathroom and are cleaned daily. We offer 4 room types; lovely double rooms, stylish deluxe double rooms, a spacious junior suite and a very private deluxe suite (all available via AirBnB). We are proud of our wide breakfast menu; freshly made and always included in the room rate. Try out our homemade bread and Dutch pancakes! We want to provide our guests a quite and peaceful atmosphere, which is the reason why we maintain an adults only policy (from 15 years and older). This ad is about our Double Rooms with Garden View: they come with a large king bed, a quiet but very effective air-conditioning, a private bathroom, ceiling fans, mini fridge, wifi in the room and a locker. The private patio comes with furniture and has a wonderful garden view, although the best view might be from your hammock.
Escape the crowds! B&B Jardín de los Monos is located in the peaceful beach community of Playa Matapalo, near Quepos and Dominical. Considered a hidden paradise by many. Nonetheless, very easily accessible over newly paved roads (the very last part is unpaved but no 4×4 needed). Enjoy this gorgeous beach and its long views in privacy; no crowds here! Jardín de los Monos is centrally positioned to explore the stunning natural beauty of the region. Tourism high-lights as; Manuel Antonio National Park near Quepos, the lively surf village of Dominical, Nauyaca waterfalls, Marino Ballena National Park in Uvita; they are all on a short driving distance from Playa Matapalo. Heading to Corcovado National Park? Jardín de los Monos is the perfect stop to enjoy a couple of beach days and unwind. Matapalo offers sufficient dinner options (4 restaurants & several soda’s). 2 Restaurants are on walking distance from our Bed and Breakfast (1 km/ 0.6 mi). But Playa Matapalo is not suited to visit without a (rental) car; no ATM, no Taxi’s and the nearest bus stop is 2.3 km (1.3 mi) away.
  • Just a short stroll to the beach, wild sloths onsite, clean pool and property....just an ideal stay!!

  • Lettika and Gijs's place is a hidden gem! With the sound of crashing waves from afar it's a 3min walk from the ocean. If you're lucky you'll see monkeys jumping from tree to tree and a sloth or two. Lettika was extremely helpful organizing activities for me and a ride to the local airport. Her breakfast we're a perfect way to start the day and pancakes are heavenly!

  • This was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. A beautiful place in a great setting. Strongly recommended for quiet stay near the beach.

  • Jardin de los Monos and Playa Matapalo were truly a slice of heaven!! Great location for visiting nearby attractions and towns. We enjoyed our local recommendations for a fantastic dinner, surf lessons from Daniel, and a horseback ride on the beach from Claudia. Speaking of the beach....Wow....almost private. Also, seeing toucans, sloths(Mom, Dad, and baby), and Monkeys right from the BnB. Peace and quiet! Thank you Lettika and Gijs and look forward to another visit.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 wonderful nights. Their place is fantastic, very clean and comfortable with a great king size bed! Breakfast each morning was delicious... coffee, smoothies and juice with eggs, ham, and the most amazing homemade bread and delicious Dutch pancakes! The property was beautiful with lots of monkeys and sloths around, very close to the beach. We could not have had a better stay, Lettika and Gijs were wonderful people and great hosts! Highly highly recommend staying here if you're in the area!

  • The location was great for us as it was a close distance from Uvita and Quepos. We stayed at the Jardins de Los Monos for 3 nights. Lettika was very nice and welcoming. She served us delicious breakfasts with homemade bread. The house, the room and the landscaping was very clean, beautiful and peaceful. The beach is at a short walking distance, not crowded and very beautiful. A small paradise….

    Francois2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • A very good place. Everything was as described. Very friendly welcome. Close to beach and wildlife. Breakfast was great, especially the home baked, 'secret recipe' bread. Recommendation for local restaurant was helpful and very good. Thanks Lettika and Gijs.

Contact Vacasa for discounted weekly and monthly stays! Amazing property surrounded by nature! Discover the beautiful ocean view from the main bedroom or enjoy the breeze and warm weather in the furnished balcony. This lovely house also provides free WiFi connection, so you can share all the pictures you take! There is a private swimming pool so you can swim all you want and enjoy its cool water and a private gas grill to show off your grilling skills and surprise the entire group! What's nearby: What we love most about this region of Costa Rica is the combination of jungle-filled mountains and ocean. The nearby hills are a playground for wildlife and hiking enthusiasts, and the nearly deserted beaches are the perfect escape for those looking to relax and. One of our favorite things to do in Dominical (and in Costa Rica) is hiking to the Nauyaca Waterfalls, this two-tiered waterfall is one of Costa Rica's most dramatic, with a 61 meter (200 foot) combined drop and a deep natural pool for swimming. Things to know: Free WiFi Full kitchen 4x4 Required - Accessing the home requires a car with four-wheel drive.

  • This place was the best AirBnB we have ever stayed in, out of dozens of AirBnB’s we visited around the world. The views of nothing but forest and sea were breathtaking, and seen from every window. The house was incredibly spacious, the hosts thought of everything.. The rooms far enough from each other to give everyone privacy. The kitchen was excellently equipped for many guests, and the pool was the best part. We stayed for two days and didn’t want to leave.

  • Excellent and impeccable house. Super comfortable areas and rooms. A breathtaking view with a pool and BBQ areas of the best. For a season with family and friends, the most in Dominical, with strategic location for the parks of Manuel Antonio and Bahia Ballena.

Beautiful home in Escaleras Hills, 10 minutes south of Dominical Beach, Puntaneras. Breathtaking view of the Pacific, green forest 220mtr above sea level, the villa has five nice bedrooms and two and a half baths, including a shower in the master bathroom that also overlooks the scenery. The living room opens up to the terrace with 200 degree view. Private meals and daily maid services available. The house has his own water- and energiesupply . Private pool with nice rancho with a bbq
  • An exceptional view of the sea and ... at night what a joy to contemplate the starry sky, toucans, flowers, vegetation, ... It is a spacious and warm accommodation, and we quickly felt at home. 2 bedrooms are air conditioned and 3 others with large ceiling fans. The kitchen is large and the house is very good for welcoming the whole family (there were 9 of us). Having a 4X4 to access the villa is really essential.

  • Absolutely loved Peter's house! The house was amazing, there were thoughtful touches like fresh local fruit when we arrived, water in the fridge and breakfast items to get us started. We got immediate responses when we had questions, and the gardens and views were spectacular! We didnt need a thing and enjoyed every minute of our stay. I highly recommend Peter's house!!!

    Jackie2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • A true one-million dollar view in Dominical that is a nice and quiet location outside Quepos/Manuel Antonio (45-minutes drive) and Uvita (15-minutes drive). Tierraverde offers enough space for 10-12 people with all necessary amenities (s/o to the amazing pool and garden) and again, an amazing ocean view. Special mention to Barbara Kocak whose team takes care of the property with who we had good communication during our stay. Friendly advice : try to get to Tierraverde before sunset, otherwise you will have a hard time finding the property on your arrival. You do need a 4x4 wheel drive to reach Tierraverde. Friendly advice #2 : Don't go to the Jolly Roger Bar located on your way to the villa, it's much more expensive than good traditional cuisine. Try El Ticanero on route 34 instead.

    Catherine2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Peters house was a spectacular stay for my large group of family and friends. The view was spectacular and very well worth the drive up the mountain. The house had all of the amenities we needed and then some. All of the bedrooms were spacious and well equipped with fresh linens. The pool was well kept and the landscaping was impeccable. The bathroom situation was definitely manageable. We saw monkeys, birds, butterflies and some other cool insects from our balcony. We even saw a whale in the bay! We even made friends with a friendly cat that stayed around the property with us through the whole stay. I loved the open concept of the home and the high ceilings. Peter was also quick to respond and provided a lot of information. The only thing to note is that there are a lot of ants in and around the house and if something is left on the counter, they will get to it. As long as nothing is left out, you won’t even know they were there. Other than that, everything was PERFECT

    Maribel2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful vacation home if you are looking to get off the beaten path a bit in Costa Rica. The view is even better than the pictures show. From the deck we saw a variety of tropical birds. You can see the Whale Tail beach from the deck which means the house is perfectly situated between towns (and beaches) of Uvita and Dominical. You’ll definitely need a 4x4 to get up the road to reach the home. But the 5 minute-or-so it takes to get up that steep hill is an adventure in and of itself and totally worth it once you reach the home. We were a family of 8 and the space was perfectly comfortable for us. Kitchen stocked with everything you’ll need to be your own host. There are supermarkets in Uvita that will allow you to stock the home to meet your needs. Would definitely recommend this Airbnb if you are looking to stay in and around the South Pacific area of Costa Rica. I’ve travelled extensively around the country and it’s definitely a neat area that deserves your attention.

  • The villa is absolutley beautiful and the view will take your breath away. The house is loaded with confortable furniture, the pool area and gardens are well kept. The drive up the mountain is challenging and a 4x4 and a sense of adventure is required. The area is full of wildlife and the amount of birds is amazing.

  • We stayed at the Honeymoon suite for 4 nights and everything was perfect. The apartment was sparkling clean, very well furnished and the pool is amazing. The view from the house is absolutely breathtaking. It is also well located, close to beaches, Manuel Antonio park, etc.. The concierge service is a great value add - They arranged a snorkelling trip for us and make great restaurant recommendations. I strongly recommend this place!

  • The waterfall on the property was the most magical part of our Costa Rica experience. Nice and secluded cabina provided great peace and quiet which was much needed after some harsher travel experiences in the prior days. Such a great surprise to wake up to the beautiful view of the jungle, and the AC and super clean space was such a relief from the humid jungle heat! GREAT experience! Friendly and accommodating staff!

If the cooling ocean breezes don't keep you quite cool enough, please note the homes are equipped with air conditioning in the master bedroom and guest house, as well as ceiling fans in all bedrooms and living areas. There are extensive lighted pathways and grounds to explore. Wireless Internet is provided, and you can also enjoy a TV with Netflix. Bedrooms are furnished with a king size bed, 1 queen bed, 1 double bed, and 2 single beds in the guest house that can be converted into a king size bed. Bedroom and bathroom linens will be prepared by housekeeping. Beach towels and a cooler are provided for your days at the beach. Enjoy the outdoor living of Costa Rica while relaxing on the loungers at the pool as the Pacific Ocean provides a gentle breeze. The large lap pool is literally only five steps away from the main house, and a short walk from the guest house. Margaritas made with freshly-picked limes from the property are a great way to enjoy the sunsets over the ocean while lounging in the pool. You'll soon find yourself scouring the reference books provided to identify butterflies, hummingbirds, toucans, and numerous exotic birds and wildlife that visit the property. A gas grill is provided for preparation of meals from your finds at the local markets. And before long you'll be using one of the favorite expressions of the Ticos (Costa Ricans)...PURA VIDA! In addition to the managers providing area & home information, Villa Tres Colinas also proudly uses Costa Concierge to provide local information & reservations of the amazing activities, tours, restaurants & spas right here in our area. We recycle glass, cans, plastic!
Lagunas de Baru is an exclusive community in Costa Ballena, overlooking Dominical - just minutes away from a beach known for surfing, dining and nightlife. The beauty of the villa's location is it's elevation, allowing cool breezes and ocean views without the heat of the lower beach towns. The house is located approximately 10 - 15 minutes up a gravel/dirt mountain road. A 4x4 vehicle is necessary to access this property, but the roads are well maintained. (We think the drive is part of the fun) :-) We are very close to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in all of Costa Rica. Only 10min to the famous Nauyaca Waterfalls. Lots of great trails to do jungle hikes. Plenty of whitewater rafting, zip lining, surfing, horseback riding, whale watching, sports fishing, and much more!!
  • If you're looking for quiet seclusion with ample wildlife, this is a perfect option for you. The view from the master bedroom of the house is stunning, and the layout was extremely functional. We had been worried that the dining and living spaces would be too small, but they were perfect. Most of the time was spent in the outdoor spaces, which were absolutely impeccable. We appreciated having a secured 'dry room', a separate covered outdoor dining space, a separate guest house space, and the large infiniti pool overlooking the ocean. Even smaller touches like yoga mats, beach chairs, cooler, loungers, board games, extra linens and beach towels, and more were awesome to have. The area is rustic and unique, which can often present some obstacles such as connectivity, but that is to be expected when you're in the middle of the jungle. The recommendations and assistance with tour bookings, restaurants and more were on point! The on-site management was extremely attentive, responsive and professional - some of the best you could expect. They truly went above and beyond for us and we are forever grateful for their accommodations. Overall it was an unforgettable experience by everyone who stayed!

  • Andrew was fantastic at every interaction. The house is seriously a fairytale property and I personal covet the remote, almost vantage point feel/view. Rent it while you can be for I put in an offer to buy the home. ; ) Great experience from every angle. Good luck beating this.

  • The pictures do not do this house justice. It is absolutely incredible. It is a beautiful home in an incredible location. Every day I had to pinch myself as I watched my kids playing in our own private pool over looking the ocean. Couple things to keep in mind if you are going to rent this space (and you absolutely should): 1. You will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The road up is in good shape but you will need the horse power and ground clearance to get up the steep dirt road. The drive is not hard, it was actually one of the fun parts of the home. 2. It is a beautiful remote location with the best view in the world. You are right in the middle of the jungle so expect to be woken up by howler monkeys and birds. Part of the charm of the home. But you can also expect to see some cool spiders and other bugs (though not many mosquitoes) 3. The house is very well equipped. Plenty of pots and pans and a great outdoor grill. One of the best features is the dry room--a room with a dehumidifier that will quickly dry your clothes, something that can seem impossible in Costa Rica's humidity. 4. Andrew and Kaitlin are incredibly helpful. Anything you need, they will be right there. They really are the perfect hosts. 5. The water is safe to drink so don't worry about buying or boiling water. 6. The internet works pretty well. We were able to stream movies and check our email without any problems. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is paradise.

  • Such an amazing place to stay. The view, the amenities, the communication and help from Andrew, the property, and the pool. All amazing! I have never rented a place with so many towels, sheets, and thought in regards to stuff to take to the beach or out for the day. Costa Concierge helped book our activities. It made things so easy. We also had a baby and was so relieved To find a gate to keep him from going down the stairs!

  • This villa is absolutely gorgeous, exactly like it looks in the photos! There were just two of us staying here, so it was a bit of splurge but still a good value for what you get. The kitchen is super well stocked, so we were able to cook and grill every night. Everything was clean and nice. Pool is amazing, love the gazebo with the hammock chairs and view. Overall the house was amazing, and Andrew was super responsive with any questions. The one caution I'll add is that the drive up to the house is *quite* harrowing and the road is pretty bad. We had 4WD but it still isn't a breeze with 4WD so it ended up keeping us up at the house a lot of the time vs. going down to explore or eat out. The weather played a role there, since it rained the entire time we were there, and that impacted the road quality too :)

  • The house has an excellent pool, a spectacular view, and a multitude of beautiful spaces to enjoy the ocean and sunset views such as the palapa and porches of the main house and small house. The wildlife is abundant and the house and surrounding land are serene and amazingly peaceful! It is a jungle oasis that is excellent for kids and adults to relax.

  • This is a dream vacation home. The setting is perfect for nature lovers. Everyday we received a gift from viewing birds, butterflies, monkeys, and animals. On our last day a flock of parrots flew through the yard! The ocean view is amazing and you can hear the waves crashing! The only sounds come from nature. A very quiet and peaceful place. After a day filled with nearby adventures, it was delightful to come back to a swim in the perfect pool. Kaitlin and Andrew were extremely helpful and responsive to us. We are very grateful to them for making our stay a complete joy! Thank you for all of your help and travel tips. The Mangrove boat tour and the Villa Vanilla tour were our favorites! Great beach days at Playa Ventanas and Playa Dominicalita! We feel this home is ideal for 3 adult couples and we will recommend this home to our friends! Muchas Gracious!
