Family-friendly vacation rentals in Romsdal

We recently stayed at Terje’s charming farmhouse in Norway’s Hjørundfjord, and it was a special experience. The farmhouse blends old-world charm with modern amenities and offers breathtaking views of the fjord. The house is equipped with all modern comforts, including a well-stocked kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, a big-screen smart TV, an outdoor hot tub, and comfortable beds to accommodate a large group. Two ferry ports a short drive from the farmhouse offer free rides to Ålesund, the roadless village of Trandal, and other destinations. Terje was exceptionally hospitable, providing great recommendations for local hiking activities and promptly responding to all our inquiries. He went above and beyond to make our stay at the farmhouse exceptional. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful and picturesque getaway!

We've been going to Christian in Hitra for several years. The house is well equipped and has a great location overlooking the archipelago. The surroundings are great for walks, the nature is stunning. If you want to go out to sea, you can rent a motorboat from Christian. The boat is made of aluminum and has a 130 HP outboard, which makes it possible to get to where you want to go quickly. If we have a question or problem, Christian always responds extremely quickly and helps us immediately. We felt very comfortable here so far and certainly weren't here the last time...

Very nice cabin. Clean and tidy. All one needs of equipment is there. We had a great weekend.

My wife and I loved our stay! The house was clean, tidy and comfortable. The surrounding view was exceptional, all visible from the hot tub which was all too welcoming after a few days of hiking! Would recommend to anyone! 😁

The house is located in an exceptional setting. We were very generously hosted by Lars who we thank very much for his responsiveness and hospitality. We were able to enjoy the pool table, boat and hot tub. Everything was perfect! The nearby shops are also a real plus. We hope to be back, as we had a time out. Thanks for everything!

We had a wonderful stay for our honeymoon - everything from useful hiking suggestions, quick to bring us anything we needed, to a magical hotpot experience! We couldn't have asked for more out of our stay of from Venise and Gaby. The location was perfect for accessing the less known hiking spots but still with those spectacular views, as well as being close to the ferry so it was easy to hop over to Volda. It was peaceful and we loved the views over the water, and we made good use of the fireplace for cozy evenings. Don't be put off by the road near by, there is very infrequent cars so you hardly hear anything at all!

We had a lovely stay! Nice and cozy apartment. The fireplace and the sauna were great! Darius was very friendly and helpful!

Well equipted house, superb location – a very good experience at Arild‘s place. Owner is very easy to get in contact with, any issue is solved at the same minute :) 100% recommend for the one’s who will look at the place to rent in Førde !!!!!

Great host who allowed us to stay even if it was outside of sessong and on very short notice. Incredibly great place! To get up in the morning to see the nice view was absolutely magical. Nice hiking areas for us with a dog. Perfect location! We had lovely trips to Loen, Olden, Lodalen, Geiranger ++ Briksdalsbreen was amazing to just an hour drive away from the cabin!!

We loved our stay in Loen. Rueben’s place was cozy, neat, clean and as pictured on Airbnb. All of the bedrooms were spacious and the beds were quite comfortable. The communication was easy and all of the directions were very accurate. The location was perfect for all of the areas popular activities and getting to and from visits to surrounding towns. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting Loen.

We had a great stay in Lom! The location was just stunning and we loved the coziness of the wooden cabin. Fifteen minutes walk from the bus stop and Lom centrum. The power went off a few times, but the host kindly offered us another cabin if it would happen again. It fortunately didn't. Thank you very much, we'll definitely be back!

Nice and uncomplicated host & rustic accommodation!

There are some Airbnb stays that have everything you need after busy days. Both Annica and the place were like a dream. Freshly baked Swedish cardiac fish, hot tea upon arrival. Lovely roasted coffee in the morning light, before Annica lifted to the airport. Rarely have I gained such insight into the generosity of another human being. A hostess who is a rare gift. Here it was like coming home for Christmas. One adventure and the place is magical. One small stone's throw from Kiwi and bus stop. One of my best Airbnb experiences. 🩷

Quaint and beautifully furnished old farmhouse. You can see the attention to detail and the history of the house everywhere. In the evening you can help feed the goats and chickens. Here you have absolute peace, but be sure to think about mosquito spray.

Felt right at home staying here! Mindaugas is a great host, welcoming, warm and friendly. The view is incredible and there’s a waterfall on the property. I highly recommend staying here!

We were well received by Lars and shown around the cabin. The fireplace was fired and ready. The cabin was clean and nice, and the kitchen well equipped. The surrounding nature is magnificent and was enjoyed both on a trip and from the jacuzzi. The area is peaceful. This gave more flavor and highly recommended.

Everything was great, and we'd definitely stay there again. We stayed there for three nights. It's pretty spacious, with three separate bedrooms, and the host was always on hand and responsive. The cabin was clean, close to the road, had a charging station for the car, and a really nice jacuzzi with an awesome view—don't miss this one. You can also enjoy fishing and hiking at nearby spots.

Amazing host, amazing location and great communication from Victoria and Erik. The perfect place to relax or explore beautiful Norway. We will defiantly be back. Best place I have ever booked!

Me and my family (a group of 10 adults and 2 kids) stayed at Fjordview Apartment for one week and we had a wonderful vacation! Victoria and her dad were very nice and friendly, they were also really helpful and organized everything we needed. Despite some misunderstanding we had about some of the things that were included in the price, all in all we had a great experience. The view is beautiful and the flat is well equipped, would recommend it to anyone!

We were two families on a trip, who had a great time in the house😊 Good with room for everyone and the two largest children got their own bedroom. All the equipment that we needed was in the house. The SUPs came in handy on the sea and the snorkeling conditions were impressive! A small beach 5 min away, which was nice for both small and big☀️ All in all a wonderful stay at Sunnmøre🙌🏼

Beautiful location and nice and helpfull hosts! Family friendly with all the amenities you need to have a comfortable stay. We rented the smalest appartment, but it was definitly more than enough space for all 4 of us. I highly recommend this place, 10/10 in my book! Thanks for a great stay 😊
