Vacation rentals with lake access in River Severn

I came to David’s house for a meet up of 8 friends who live in different corners of England. David’s house is every bit as beautiful as the pictures suggest, and fantastic to enjoy entertaining on the patio and in the last kitchen diner/area. The rooms were large and all furnished to a high spec. Lovely comfortable beds and pillows! And great to hop in the hot tub as well after a day at Go Ape. Hopefully David with have us back one day, we will certainly look at booking again soon!

Carthorse Barn is just simply stunning ! So spacious and beautifully decorated, we felt right at home . The day we arrived weather was not the greatest so having a wood stove was blissful. The cottage is very spacious and has everything needed for a comfortable stay , kitchen is fully equipped, downstairs toilet a welcomed bonus. Upstairs both bedrooms are immaculate, spacious and have very comfy beds . I loved the window bench in the kids bedroom, such a wonderful nook to relax. The main bedroom has the biggest and comfiest bed I have ever seen , such a beautiful wooden headboard too. I loved the free standing bath. The farm is also lovely and we enjoyed going to see the pigs and walking round the lakes.

Our stay at the barn was wonderful. The home is spotless and has everything we needed. Beautiful views from the garden and lovely neighbours with an equally lovely dog! Sally is a fab host who came and introduced herself and provided lots of info on the area and local recommendations. Would recommend to anyone seeking a rural getaway in a beautiful location. Will & Amanda go above and beyond to make their guests stay wonderful. Check in was so easy with very detailed communication. They provided a lovely welcome book with info on the area, what’s to do, places to visit etc . The house was immaculate and very comfortable with everything you needed. The surroundings were super tranquil and just the perfect spot to relax with family. It was so lovely to simply sit and watch the wildlife outside and activity on the lake ❤️ Highly recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing getaway from a normally fast paced life. What a beautiful home on a beautiful location! Very comfortable and all the little things were provided ie washing up liquid, shower gel, soap etc. House on perfect location, about 30 seconds walk to the Brasserie, that does delicious food! Definitely would return!

Only a one night stay but was a very peaceful and cosy night. Everything was immaculate when we arrived. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The grounds on which we stayed were gorgeous and very nice to walk around. Would definitely stay again.

One of the best places I have stayed. it comes with so many amenities but most of all, Stevdn and Wiki eere super prompt in their responses and even accommodated our last minute requests. Highly recommended.

Great stay at the cottage. Hannah is very responsive and communication great. Felt at home and it was great to have the lake over the road to take the SUPs to. 7 people and it suited us fine with all the bathrooms, though we did notice if someone else was drawing water the shower would fail- bit annoying but we just worked around it.

Really cosy, comfortable lovely barn, set amongst picturesque lakes and commutable to lots of gorgeous towns.

The apartment was even better in reality than in the photos - lovely decor and comfortable beds/sofas. As we had lovely weather for our weekend stay , we sat outside on the rooftop terrace relaxing at every opportunity, listening to birdsong and lake-watching the wildlife. We hadn’t appreciated the amount of activities on offer at Lower Mill Estate but used the outdoor heated pool, recliners and sauna before we checked in - it really started our weekend in relaxing mood. We went to Ballihoo restaurant during our visit and this was a great family restaurant, very casual with good food - a few minutes walk from the accommodation. We did some Cotswolds sightseeing on the Saturday and it was lovely to know our penthouse and sundeck was waiting when we returned in the afternoon. Jane recommended a local restaurant for the Saturday evening and we weren’t disappointed- the food was absolutely delicious and it made the weekend perfect. Jane & Nico - thank you for everything:-)

A cosy, clean and comfortable place to stay. Powerful shower. Nice dining area. Very friendly host and good food from the chip shop. Nice little high street and pretty walk around the lake.

Amazing stay, so peaceful and lovely. Location is great, secluded but close enough to drive to takeaway spots or Tesco. Not too far from the Brecon Beacons where we travelled to for the four falls trail. Would visit again, thank you :)

What an amazing cottage! It has such a calm peaceful feel to it,probably helped by the surrounding hills,pretty much on the doorstep,and the abundance of very warm & friendly locals! I'm also pretty certain the bed is magic as I haven't slept that well for ages! John was so helpful with all necessary details. He has left very useful instructions for local walks etc in the cottage,along with lots of historic information about the area,all extremely interesting. We absolutely loved staying here,and hope to return. A very special place.

We had a wonderful stay, we only wish we'd booked for longer. The cottage was beautiful, exceptionally clean, spacious and had everything that we needed and the Aga was wonderful. It was quiet, peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Victoria provided us with all the information we needed for the cottage and the local area and was available if we needed to make contact. We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you for a wonderful break to celebrate our 20 Year wedding anniversary.

Quintessential Welesh countryside home. Ideal spot to commute around Wales. Would thoroughly recommend for medium sized groups. Lots to explore around here home as well + convenient BBQing

Beds comfy which was much needed. Shop is literally 1 minute fro the apartment so very handy. Quiet little town. If you’re going to the pub get one of you to drive as it’s a steep hill.

The cottage was a great place to stay in a beautiful rural location. Katy was very helpful and responsive. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking to explore the Abergavenny/Monmouthshire area or looking to explore the Brecon Beacons.
