Janice was a perfect host , we were made to feel very welcome and knew she was on hand if we needed anything . First cottage is spacious and well equipped , boasting stunning views we particularly enjoyed the peace and tranquility It was perfect for getaway for a holiday with our grandaughters they enjoyed visiting the Roman museum , Hadrians wall and Kielder forest bird of prey center Will recommend to family and friends and hopefully will be back for another visit

We arrived on a cold night to such a welcoming warm house. The house was spacious and very well equipped. The decoration was lovely. Would highly recommend the property.

We had a really wonderful and relaxing break here with our pup walking through the Lake District. This house was perfect, in stunning gardens and close to everything we wanted to do. We even enjoyed eggs from the chickens which came to say hi to us every day. A really beautiful place to stay, comfortable and had everything we needed.

Warm, clean & comfortable little cottage with everything that we needed. Ideal location for the town and surrounding area, however we did underestimate how busy the road would be at night.

I had a wonderful stay at Sharu's place! The space was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described in the listing. Sharu was a responsive and thoughtful host, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The neighborhood was quiet, beautiful and conveniently located near everything I needed. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area and would happily stay here again!

Perfect location. 10/10. I did not want to leave. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, unbelievable views, superb location, easy access to logs for fire with which my husband was delighted. 100% would return... tomorrow if it was possible! Our dog (border terrier) had a fantastic time too and was very interested in the wee hedgehog who appeared to be living in the bushes outside and the free range chickens!! There was also a free range doggo popping round to the garden in the evening. Vigilance/ Lead/ supervision was a must for our super inquisitive pup.

Loved our stay - the house was exactly as described. It was very clean, had everything we needed and was really comfortable. The location was ideal - great for getting to the Lakes and also for access to the M6.

We had a lovely stay; the location is wonderful, surrounded by farmland with baby lambs overlooking the seating area! The apartment is very well specced and looked after, with a small garden house further up the hill opposite and an amazing river a short walk across the fields where we went for a swim. The photos do not do the property justice, it is a gem. Would definitely come back to use as a quiet base to explore the lakes from again.

The accommodation was excellent, it was pristine inside, not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. The kitchen was surprisingly good for an Air B&B, you could easily use this place for a long stay and not have to eat out some nights. The view from the windows was lovely, right over St Andrew’s church yard and the bell tower. Getting into Penrith couldn’t be easier either, it’s a 50 yard walk to the clock tower in the town centre. There’s only one downside to this place and that’s the church bells, it was fine for us as we don’t sleep in but if you want a lie in, you won’t get one. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place, fantastic location and very comfortable for our stay.

Firstly, I'd like to start by saying I'm fussy. I like to ensure I have a clean, very comfortable place to say with nothing to hide (some places can be quite deceiving from listing's). This place is small but absolutely amazing. Worth every pound, and to be honest, the host could charge more if she needed based on the great effort in every detail that's gone into the property. Easy to find, with a bus stop straight outside. Effortless communication, very clean and comfortable, well equipped for our stay. It's clear to see Tann has put her heart into creating a really inviting peaceful space, to give travellers the opportunity to explore Carlisle on a budget. There are hotel chains classed as 4star that aren't as comfortable as this beautiful little annexe/outhouse. We would absolutely stay again if in the area, and would highly recommend.

Loved Leigh-Ann's place, it felt so homely and is beautifully finished. She was also really helpful when we left our son's comforter behind. Thank you for a lovely stay

An absolutely beautiful accommodation, comfortable & large in a glorious setting. Zoe is so friendly, unassuming & helpful. Encouraged us to wander around her lovely garden, the very old courtyard & surroundings. Her dogs & cats add to the pleasant home stay atmosphere. The breakfast supplies, tea & coffee were very generous. Zoe booked us into a nearby pub for dinner which was a good idea as they can be very busy. There are a number of things to see in nearby towns. We would have loved to have stayed for much longer & will definitely return to Zoe’s if we ever get back to the UK.

The Snug met our needs exactly, and Alison had thoughtfully left many extras in the kitchen to make our stay comfortable. We were sad to leave! Perfect location for exploring one of the most scenic stretches of Hadrian's Wall, very convenient for some of the best sites. We are already planning to book again next year.

This bijpu bedsit is perfect for a single person. Peaceful and private, and with everything I needed. The bed was really comfortable, and the whole place was immaculately clean. I was really happy to see environmental measures in place. The location is perfect - spot on for accessing this part of the Lakes, with so many beautiful spots within easy driving distance. Kath's communications were clear and friendly and fast. I would recommend this accommodation and its owners without hesitation.

Dinah’s place is absolutely lovely .. such a beautiful cosy space with everything you need. The court yard space was fantastic to be able to sit outside and enjoy dinner and a drink ..will definitely be back

Angela's place is cosy and comfortable, as close to the delightful town centre of Penrith as it is to the larger shops for all needed supplies and very near the lovely local park with castle ruins to explore. One word of wisdom for future visitors is that you do need to turn on the second pull switch in the bathroom to get the shower going, but after that it's a lovely warm shower too.

We enjoyed our family stay at Glyn’s place very much. Glyn is a friendly gentleman who provided us clear instructions and a lovely place. I’ve been in the Lake District probably a dozen times and this has been my favourite place yet - I’d love to stay again. The beds were comfy. Kitchen really well equipped even for longer stays. The balcony overlooking the river is a proper bonus and a truly delightful place for your morning coffee. I’d rate Glyn 20/10 if I could!

Abigail’s is the most beautiful home! We visit every year not only because of the home but because of Simone, the host is amazing!! She really is a 10/10 host, very easy to talk to, caring and very responsive to your needs! We feel very lucky to spend our time in the lakes but thats a huge thank you to Abigail’s for making our holiday special! Thank you Simone - you’re amazing 🤩

I booked Allison's place for 2 nights as a surprise trip for my husband. It was easy to find, the photos of the building were very useful and appreciated. The flat was lovely, clean, felt homely and comfortable, just minutes from the train and buses in one direction, the town in the other direction with many shops and restaurants. Allison responded quickly to a small query which was resolved immediately. I'd recommend her place to anyone staying in the Penrith area for easy accessibility to the lakes.

The Barn really is a gem. We were amazed as we arrived how beautiful and peaceful the surroundings were. Kate gave clear instructions how to get there which was really helpful as we found other times on our trip the sat nav led us astray! The barn is so cosy and beautifully furnished, you can tell it’s been done with love and is stylish but very practical too. Had everything we needed for our weekend stay. After a wet day out walking coming back to a hot shower and putting on the wood burner was amazing! We loved our stay and would absolutely come back.

I had a wonderful few days at Mark and Kristen's place with my dog. I've stayed in many properties at a similar price point in the area and this was definitely my favourite so far. The cottage was even more quaint and beautiful than the photos, and there were so many thoughtful touches, including welcome biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge, lovely bed linen and blankets for the sofa. Mark and Kristen were perfect hosts, super responsive with my queries. I would recommend their place to any friend looking for a peaceful place to stay for exploring the north eastern fells.

Nice place off the highway. All amenities are available. Good value for money. Easy to get to Carlisle city centre if you’re driving 9 minute drive.
