Cottage vacation rentals in Oakland

This cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway with me and my partner. We were able to walk to the beach with our surfboards in less than 10 minutes. The outdoor porch was nestled amongst so much greenery and made for the perfect AM coffee spot. The outdoor shower was luxurious and the studio was cozy for watching movies in bed at night. Would def recommend to another couple looking for an easy getaway at the beach!

Sean & Jen’s listing is what AirBnB is all about. A lovely , tranquil and elegant space built probably for themselves and being shared to fellow guests. Great amenities and well setup. The creek is magical . We enjoyed our stay and hope to return .

This was a first but Francesca's place was nicer than the photos! I came here with my husband 6yo daughter and we had a great time (minus the wind storm for kist of our trip). The space was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed and more. I accidentally forgot to bring a lighter for birthday candles but Francesca had 2! If the weather was nicer, her space would've been perfect to hang. My daughter was obsessed with the tree house, swings and climbing ropes. We already promised our 6yo to maybe come back in the summer. What a gem of a space!

The house was clean and comfortable in an impossible-to-beat location. Plenty of nearby options for food, shopping, and endless oceanside hikes. The kitchen was well stocked for all of your cooking needs. A few basics were missed such as a delay in check in, due to key code not shared, and mysteriously few bottles of hand soap, but nothing we couldn’t work around. We would stay here again!

Thanks to Clair and Elias. We loved your cabin in the woods. It was exactly as shown in the pictures, very comfortable and a great location to relax. We enjoyed having meals on the deck. Clair and Elias were quick to respond to any questions and deal with any issues that arose. The one draw back was that the wifi was slow.

My husband and I had a great time in Mill Valley. We were amazed at the location of this adorable cottage. It is walking distance to the library and to downtown MV, which had everything we could possibly need/want. Such an incredible community. Our host was helpful when we had questions and answered promptly. The cottage was cute, clean and cozy. Overall we loved our stay and would love to come back again someday!

Very cute cottage in Atherton. Worked well for me and my colleague. We were able to park our car onsite. The area is very safe and quiet. You are within a few minutes from Stanford, downtown Palo Alto and Sandhill Road. David was very communicative, texting with specific directions and responding to questions throughout our stay. There were several bugs in the cottage (a few, random ants and a handful of spiders).

Wow! What a stunning place. It’s somehow even better than the photos. It’s incredibly clean and all the finishes are very high-end, which makes it feel like someone is trusting you to stay in their own impeccably curated home rather than just another vacation rental. The outdoor space is lush and private — I wish we would have had more time just to hang out there! You’re a three minute walk from the beach, and just steps from a cafe that serves great coffee and pastries in the morning. Overall, it was such a treat to spend the weekend here!

We had a great time in this cozy cottage. The hot tub was so deep you could stand all the way up and be submerged! And the view of the ocean was awesome too.

Such a cozy unique cabin. We slept well, cooked in the well stocked, funky kitchen and read books in the loft. Easy to walk into town and great host. Want to return!!

Mara is a great host, charming and thorough.........a great combination for us! Her detailed instructions and "hands-off" thereafter approach was perfect for us. The unit was just the right size for us and had everything we needed for our week plus stay. We hope to visit and stay again in the future as the location is perfect for us.

We loved staying at the Dipsea Cottage. It’s a beautiful, calming, and comfortable space. We really enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, restaurants, playground, and shops. We look forward to coming back here again!

Aoibhinn’s space was a great place to stay and we will definitely consider to return. Located in the quiet backyard in a quiet neighborhood, it is in walking distance to markets and grocery shops as well as a variety of North Berkeley restaurants and more. Amenities are exactly as described, while we enjoyed in particular the modern and very well equipped kitchen, including basic food supplies as well as the welcome cookies. We enjoyed proactive, courteous, prompt, and friendly conversations, both ahead of and during this great stay in Berkeley.

Quiet neighborhood great view beautiful home highly recommend

Overall we had a good stay at Susan’s rental. She was very nice and communicative. It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals. Large refrigerator. Regular drip coffee pot. Very close to downtown Mill Valley so you can walk into town easily. There seemed to be a few other renters on this property, and our rental was the very back unit. The walkway down the length of the front house was a bit tight, with 2 gates. It was farther than we expected to load/unload bags. Just a heads up - Parking was a bit tricky because this property is on the main avenue (Blithedale).

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Stinson Beach. The house is stylish, comfortable, and incredibly well-located—just half a block from the beach. Everything was set up to make our time there feel easy and relaxing, and it was exactly the getaway we needed. We’re already looking forward to coming back. This was one of my favorite airbnbs! The host has thought of everything and made the stay feel right at home. Their hospitality was so appreciated and their local recommendations were incredibly thorough and spot on. We really enjoyed peaceful morning coffee in the backyard listening to the small stream running under the deck and birds singing, enjoying the many flavors of tea provided, and cooking meals here. They had everything we needed and then some. I can’t recommend this space enough and very close to all nearby towns and attractions. We can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful home- our family enjoyed our stay! The enclosed front yard was great for the grandkids ( ages 20 mo old and 3 1/2 yo). Activities are within reasonable driving distance...

the bluebird cottage was perfect for our family while we were visiting the area for work. our dogs loved the private yard to relax and play in. the cottage truly felt like a private getaway while being cozy at the same time. the hosts took extra care in providing some grocery items that made our stay even more comfortable! we will definitely return!

Another great stay at this peaceful, comfortable cottage in a great neighborhood and with easy access to restaurants, grocery stores and freeways. The cottage was very clean and welcoming. Sabine was very helpful as always and I look forward to my next visit!

Great central location with lots of places to walk to. I grew up in Castro Valley but haven’t been back in many years. We stayed with our twin 5 year olds and there is a play place that is nearby. Katherine was very communicative and flexible with check in. There was a housekeeping issue and Katherine addressed this issue immediately. We couldn’t get the shower head in the master bath to work correctly but the guest bath shower worked just fine with good pressure. We were disappointed it rained while we were there because we didn’t get to use the backyard. It looked very inviting with the BBQ and fire pit. The dining table was great as we had my senior parents over for dinner and everyone fit comfortably. The home is beautifully decorated
