Vacation rentals with a fireplace in North Devon District

This is a beautiful cottage tucked away among lush woods and a stream. There are lots of footpaths on your doorstep and Porlock is a short walk away for shops / cafes etc. There's also a play park nearby. The location is a great base for exploring the local area. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay, including a lovely sun room. All was clean and the hosts were helpful and responsive. We really appreciated the personalised welcome goodies! The maps and other local info came in handy. We had car trouble while were there and the host was so kind and understanding, which made a stressful situation easier. I would recommend this property and thanks again to Denys and Carole for having us.

The space suited us perfectly. I absolutely loved the design - so many fab touches, gorgeous fabrics and colours. We were lucky with the weather so were able to make the most of the outside area too. It's really close to Barnstaple but felt rural and peaceful too. The friendly cats were an added bonus!

We had a lovely stay at stairway to Devon - Midge. Nathan greeted us on arrival and informed us of everything we needed to know, including recommendations for local walks. The hut has everything you could possibly need, and the wood fired hot tub was an extra bonus. Would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing get away.

Amazing house, with beautiful scenery; photos don’t do it justice. Samantha was always quick to answer any questions and as a birthday surprise on arrival, had put up banners/balloons which I’d posted to her. There’s everything you can think of/need at the house and the hot tub was an added bonus; we went in every day! Would highly recommend and would love to return one day!

Thank you so much for an amazing stay. The barn was beautiful and spacious and perfect for socialising with friends or family. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, our only gripe was that we wish we had booked longer!!

We had the most relaxing stay. The property is absolutely beautiful with wonderful attention to detail and charm, it had everything we could possibly need and more. Enjoying cider by the fire was the finishing touch. The location is perfect for exploring Somerset and Dorset and we will most certainly stay again when next in the area. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

Loved staying in Ken's place. Lovely location close to everything we wanted to do - yet far enough away from busy roads that it was super quiet and peaceful. Ken was very helpful with recommendations and the house was very comfortable and well equipped. Highly recommended.

What can we say, from booking our stay, to leaving after an amazing week, we truly felt at home. Kam and Bens home is beautiful throughout, there wasn’t one thing that we thought we needed or wanted that wasn’t provided for. Kam met us on arrival, earlier than we expected, and showed us around her wonderful home, all instructions in a helpful guide in the kitchen, even tide times, for trips. Great advice for our trip to Lundy, she even sent us up to date weather forecast . Kam provided us with mobile numbers if we were stuck for anything, and ensured it was ok for Ben to check the hot-tub, when we were out. Lovely touches, such as robes for getting out of the tub, were much appreciated. Superb hosts, will definitely visit again, our daughter and her partner joined us for a few days and loved every minute, lovely walk to the beach, only 10mins away, and the most amazing sunsets from the lounge and bedroom . Very neat flat in the middle of Woolacombe. Pubs, restaurants, coffee houses and shops all within short walking distance. The are has so many walks and running routes as well as great swimming and surfing so great for active folk. Will definitely look to see if available again as this place is perfect for the area

A lovely space to stay. One very large spacious room with a luxurious bathroom and separate shower. Fully fitted kitchen with everything you need. Very clean with good towels and bedding. Lovely quiet area but close to moors, Lynmouth and Lynton. Highly recommend and I would definitely stay again. Thank you Carolynn.

Clare and Mike welcomed both me and my new wife with a bottle of champagne on arrival and ensured that we had a lovely honeymoon by letting us know if we needed anything, would highly recommend visiting the farm house as it is so close to the beach and was even able to enjoy a few sunsets from the window for cosy evenings!

Christina was a friendly and helpful host. The house and gardens are beautiful with wonderful views of the church and surrounding countryside. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and spacious and we appreciated the breakfast of cereals, fresh croissants, butter, jam and orange juice. A peaceful and relaxing stay. Loved our stay. Beautiful apartment, absolutely spotless and had everything you could possibly need. Loved the area it was in- walkable distance from the High Street in Minehead yet very peaceful with great walks from the doorstep through streets of beautiful houses and amazing views. Was visiting our daughter and didn’t realise Minehead was such a nice town with beautiful places such as Lynmouth and Porlock pretty near. Thank you for such a lovely place to stay

Not many words apart from perfect. Exactly as described, the cutest apartment, well equipped and perfect for a family of 4. Not only walking distance to everything but also a great little garden and deck for a glass of something in the sunshine. Mike shared loads of restaurant recommendations, all of which were spot on. The Millside was amazing food and service, would highly recommend. Mikes communication was excellent, thorough instructions and attentive at all times. Very sad to have left!

Myself and two friends travelled from London and had an absolutely amazing well needed break! The property was absolutely beautiful and the location. We walked to Looe following the recommendations and had an amazingly mindful walk in the natural beauty of Cornwall. We are already planning our next trip back! Rob is a brilliant host, they property was better than the pictures and the communication was excellent

We had an amazing stay at Coombe Villa! The house was spotless, spacious, and perfect for our group of six friends. We loved the sea views, the games room, and the cinema setup, which made for some really fun evenings. The location is ideal, with beaches, cafes, and restaurants just a short walk away. Simon and Charlie were super responsive and helpful with any questions, which made everything really easy. It had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing getaway. Highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the welcoming touches – including three bottles of wine that set the tone for a truly relaxing getaway. The kitchen was fully equipped, not just with all the essential utensils and appliances, but even stocked with some food items – a rare and thoughtful detail that made cooking a pleasure. Every corner of the villa is beautifully decorated, with stylish bedrooms and elegant dining areas that make you feel right at home. Beautiful house, thoughtfully decorated and a pleasure to spend time in. It is also huge so lots of space to make yourself at home. All appliances, white goods etc in perfect working order and all furniture comfortable and tidy, linens and towels very clean etc. The house throughout was very clean. Parking permits available on arrival so very easy and we had no issues with parking during our week long stay. Easy to walk to the seafront, shopping mall, aquarium etc and we enjoyed the walks. Very small asks would be to provide more dinner plates, side plates and bowls. As a family of 5 we went through everything in a day but it’s not enough to fill the dishwasher so no break from washing up on hols! A few basics like salt, pepper, oil would be welcomed to help with home cooking. As I said very small asks. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this home away from home for anyone travelling to Plymouth.

The most stunning home to spend some quiet, wholesome family time and get out of London. The walk down to the beach was definitely worth it (our 4 year old agreed) The house is so amazing with its high ceilings and grand rooms and amazing antique furniture. We had all the grandparents with us and 2 kids and there was plenty of space.
