The lake house was even better than the pictures. The property grounds were beautiful and an easy walk down to the dock. Our kids had the best time swimming from the dock and kayaking in the cove. We brought our boat and I really appreciated the nice fendering on the dock. We would love to stay at Phillips house again in the future.

This was our second time staying at The Wilde Retreat and it was fabulous, once again! It’s clean, comfortable, and the view is unbeatable. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Beautiful house with a beautiful dock. It’s also in a quiet part of the lake—but still very close and accessible to things. We had a 10/10 experience and will definitely be back. Also - the bed in the master bedroom is so comfortable!

100% recommend this home. You can tell that the host really cares about the guest experience; they have thought about every little detail. They left us needing nothing. The home was so well designed and extremely clean. In fact, this was the cleanest AirBnB we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many! We absolutely can't wait to come back to this home when we head back to Western NC.

This is a special place - relaxing, peaceful, beautiful and accommodating. Everything was just as described and the pictures accurately represent the property. Fully stocked kitchen, crock pot and all. The space is nicely appointed and there were several places inside and outside the home our group of 9 could easily congregate. Incredible location, you really don’t even need to leave the house. We would love to visit again.

Our stay at this beautiful property was truly unforgettable. The porch offered breathtaking views, making it the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening relaxation. Even when we encountered a brief power outage, our host went above and beyond to assist us promptly and ensure our comfort — their attentiveness and care truly stood out. The home was cozy and well-maintained, providing an ideal setting for quality family time. We especially loved doing yoga together in such a peaceful setting — it was the perfect environment to unwind and reconnect. The location was also fantastic: just a short drive from Asheville and surrounded by amazing hiking trails. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat.

House was extremely clean and very secluded (which we enjoyed). It is a little bit off the highway, but a great property for two families. Beds were comfy and plenty of space to relax after a long hike!

The views are incredible! A wonderful space for our family getaway. We also loved toddler friendly dishes, toys, and high chair for our 2 year old. Would come back in a heartbeat!

This place was absolutely perfect. My parents and in-laws stayed with us and were also very impressed with this home. We will definitely stay here if we need to visit this area again.

Couldn’t ask for a better location. Gorgeous views of the ocean, easy access to the beach, walk to grocery stores and restaurants. The bottom of the house is basically a big sandbox that our 4 year old and dog could play in all day. Peaceful and relaxing vacation. We’d stay here again!

We had a great tile at this home. The view was amazing and there was lot there for us to do to stay entertained. The drive up was very steep with lots of switch backs, but well worth it. Just take it slow. Loved it!!

We absolutely loved this Air B&B!! It was beautifully decorated and was even more spacious than the pictures seemed. Erin always responded quickly and we were invited to check in early because the house was ready early, which we really appreciated after driving over 10 hours to NC. Beach views are beautiful!! And you are right on the beach. 10/10 would highly recommend

The views make every moment feel serene (checkout the sunrise views from any of the balconies). The home feels wonderfully secluded, yet is just minutes away from a charming town filled with shopping, restaurants, and mini-day trips to hiking trails, and beautiful parks—offering the perfect balance of a peaceful retreat and easy access to local adventures. This was our second visit & won't be our last.

Absolutely Perfect Beach Getaway! We had such an amazing time at this beach house! The place was spotless when we arrived—so clean and well taken care of. It’s a beautiful home with a really open, relaxing feel and the views were just stunning. Waking up to that every day was such a treat. The location is perfect—just a short, easy walk to the beach, which made it super convenient. We also loved having the pool and hot tub; it was the perfect way to unwind after a day at the beach. Our host, Neil, was fantastic—super responsive, kind, and helpful from start to finish. They really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. All in all, it was one of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve had. Our whole family cannot wait to come back!

The property was perfect to accommodate family from out of town for a weekend nevent nearby. The house was comfortable with plenty of amenities to feel right at home. The hot tub and pool were relaxing at the end of the day. The host was friendly, flexible and responsive.

Patrick was a wonderful host! Very responsive whenever we had a question or need. The location was perfect for a family vacation, readily accommodating seven adults and four grandkids, ages 1 to 8. Fabulous views of the lake from the house and pool deck. Our grandkids caught many fish from the dock, including a couple of nice catfish. The kayaks were easy to launch and retrieve, and our 22 foot boat fit nicely alongside the outer dock. Five stars in all regards!

This location and space was just perfect for our large family to gather for App State graduation. It is close to Boone which made grocery shopping, a walk on the Greenway and access to campus convenient. The area surrounding the home is so incredibly peaceful. All we could hear were turkeys, woodpeckers and deer. The space was super clean. The main room and kitchen/dining area was the perfect size for everyone to hang out and eat together. We loved the turntable too!
