Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Midlothian

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! While the area feels secluded, it is only a short drive from local restaurants and amenities. It is 30 minutes from Edinburgh so it's an ideal place to stay if planning to visit without paying what you would in the city. There is quite literally a view of a castle from your doorstep. Amazing! We wouldn't think twice about booking again!

This is literally a home from home. We got an Uber from the rail station to the property, and then another to the airport the following day. We didn't use the kitchen as we took a walk to the local Parilla restaurant and had the best burgers we have had in our entire lives! This was a recommendation in the welcome pack. Everything was a next level of clean, and easy to use. If I fly from Edinburgh again, I would definitely book this over a hotel anyday.

Would highly recommend staying in this lovely home! It is in a great location if visiting the area! Only 8 minutes from park and ride into Edinburgh and local walks on door step. The house is lovely with large bedrooms and lounge/ dining area

Great location with views of fields whilst being within easy access to Edinburgh. Friendly welcome on arrival. Very clean and tidy. Well furnished with everything you would need in the kitchen. Lovely stay and I would highly recommend.

What a beautiful place to stay for a family visit to Edinburgh. This 5 bed house sits right next to a loch but is also only 10 minutes from 2 supermarkets and numerous take aways and restaurants. A 30 minute drive into Edinburgh was manageable and straightforward also. The owners, Theresa and David live next door and were friendly and helpful. I could not fault this stay at all, it was just what we wanted. Thank you so much, Theresa and David.

Great location and place to stay. We very much enjoyed the hot tub and visited Edinburgh on the park and ride at Newcraigshall. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh as a family.

This is my first stay in a holiday park resort. we had wonderful time & truly enjoyed the Stay. Morag have a wonderful lodge with all the facilities & its maintenance is top notch. We would love to visit this place again 🙂

A group of 8 family and friends stayed here for a couple of nights for a concert at Murray Field,excellent location for both concert and socialising,shops close too,Audrey was so helpful with checking in and any questions we had,would definitely stay here again.

Was exactly what we expected, great location for visiting Edinburgh & many other places. Great accommodation & helpful hosts.

Scots place was beautiful. Lots to do inside and outside. Kids had lot of fun as there were toys scooter and bike. There was colouring books and pens card games kids did not get enough time as we only booked for one night. Scott was kind and he extended our check out. Kids made the most out of it. Not far away from Edinburgh castle which was our holiday plans to explore Edinburgh city. Clean kitchen and toilet and shower. We had everything we needed in the caravan. Thanks Scott for making the one night stay comfortable. You are a star

We stayed here to watch family members doing the Edinburgh marathon and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed and location-wise. The children loved the pool and playground and proximity to the beach was ideal. The caravan was cosy and had everything we needed! Thanks so much!

We only had need to stay for 1 night, but Dianne's communication was fabulous and she made sure that we were welcomed and the place was spotless and clean. Really great value for money in the area and would love to stay again if we are in the area.

Lovely comfortable mobile home and wonderful location close to woodland walks and the beaches and a short drive to Edinburgh Lucy was great to communicate with and so helpful about everything Thank you !!!

David's and Melanie's place was really good. We stayed there for 2 night and we really enjoyed it. The place is 25 mins away from Edinburgh and Edinburgh Airport too. I'd definitely recommend staying here on your trip to Edinburgh.

Lovely neighborhood, though a bit of a walk to main street

The East Wing of Islay House was very spacious and comfy. It was clean and tidy and did not lack any amenities. Sandra provided firewood for the fireplace and plenty of local information. The village of Pencaitland is quiet an peaceful with a shop/petrol station within walking distance and lots of short walks. There were lots of longer walks within 12-30 mins, including those in Edinburgh. Even better if: queen or king bed instead of double bed, description and external photos more accurately reflect that the accommodation is part of a larger house, and it is made clear whether or not both sets of gates can be shut to provide a full secured outside space for dogs. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would recommend :).

We had a lovely time. Close to public transport to Edinburgh and a short drive to the coast. The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings. Very friendly/communicative host. Very comfy bed and everywhere very clean. Pet friendly which for us is a big plus.

We had a very comfortable 4 night stay at the cottage. It was very warm and tidy, it felt homely. The beds were extremely comfortable. The views were beautiful and my children loved watching the deer. The cottage has everything you need.

The cottage is very clean and tidy with a lovely garden and very spacious. The parking is outside the property next to the road We just had to be careful with getting our dogs in and out the car But grateful there is parking with the accommodation. kitchen facilities are very limited. No coffee machine No welcome pack just UHT milk packet coffee It would of been nice to have a few welcome treats . Communication very good I would recommend this lovely Cottage

Neil's house was great, very spacious and tidy. It has everything you need for a great stay and is very close to Edinburgh. If you come by car, you will be about 25 minutes from Edinburgh.

It was a brief but delightful stay after a long day in Edinburgh. The “ooh’s and ah’s” from my kids said it all. We slept great before an early flight home and was so nice to be in such a clean and tastefully appointed home. We’ll be sure to book again when we’re back.
