Shoreline Oasis- A Perfect Spring Getaway

JohnRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We had a great stay, our second in two years. We love the feeling of being out in nature and the sense of privacy. This year our “neighbors” were two bald eagles we saw on the beach every morning while watching the sun rise over Lake Michigan. Some practical things to consider: the nearest grocery store is Jack’s in Manistique. Best to stop there before you arrive, it’s more than a short drive. And, take them seriously when they tell you to arrive during daylight! I wouldn’t want my first drive down the single-track access lane to be in the dark! If I were planning to stay there in the winter, I would check with the management company first to make sure my vehicle was up to it. When we arrived we found the EV charger not working, but we contacted the management company and they worked hard to make it right in less than 24 hours, even though it was a weekend.

Lots of traffic noise at this place but I think the hot tub makes up for it! It is in a great location to drive to the Pictured Rocks lakeshore and explore things in the way there. Super comfortable and the shower is awesome!

Black Moth Cabin - A U.P. Hideaway

KaydRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Beautiful location, the pictures don’t do this place justice! Quiet place for a stay with your dogs. Lots of nature to enjoy in the surrounding areas. & some fun bars & food if you’re down for a bit of a drive. The only downfall was we felt the cabin was a little dirty with no products left out to clean with. We would still love to return in the future!

We found the apartment to be just as described. It's in a lovely, quiet and central area. We could walk to downtown shops and restaurants. There was plenty of space for the four of us. Upfront House -Walking Distance to everything!

GinnieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The house was great for our family, two adults and 3 teens, for a long weekend. It was helpful to have the extra space on the back porch to store our skis and would be great if we come back with our bikes in the future. The location was walkable to shops, restaurants and a short drive to NMU campus and downtown. We appreciated the local coffee and Trenary Toast provided. We also greatly appreciate the time and care that was taken to clear the driveway of snow from a blizzard that passed through before our arrival!

It was very easy to check in and out. Sally was very nice & she lives next door in case of any emergencies. Close walk distance to get to the restaurants, park & bay beach (nice spot to enjoy the sunrise & fish) which we loved the most. A very quiet, clean, safe & peaceful town. Overall a great place for family time. Thank you so much Sally for sharing your house with us.

Hewitt House in heart of Marquette

JenniferRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The Hewitt St. house is very cute and very, very clean. It’s a little short on curb appeal but makes up for it inside, with plenty of room and simple but nice decor. Soap for the bath/shower would have been appreciated, but otherwise there were no complaints from the adults. We really enjoyed our stay. The house does make noises (like old houses do), which scared the kids, requiring a (successful) safety check to the kind of spooky basement. The best part was how wonderfully walkable the location is. Very handy to downtown and the university. A little take-out place called Sando’s was a half-mile trek and offered really tasty sandwiches and hot dogs.

Lake Cottage: Private with Sunset Views

JenniferRating, 5 stars3 months ago
The Lake Cottage was exactly as pictured - clean, nostaglic, modernized amentities and loads of vintage charge. We booked last minute for a New Years Eve hurrah with my husband and two children (ages 3 & 8), and my only regret is not staying longer. We snowboarded, ice-fished, played board games, did puzzles... and simply enjoyed our time together. It was restorative and the cottage is conducive to slowing down and savoring each moment. The property (albiet Winter) was spacious and felt private, tucked down the long(er) drive with a single neighbor in sight. Elizabeth, the host, was incredibly responsive and helpful. 10/10, will probably book again!

Comfortable 1 room house with private lake access.

WilliamRating, 5 stars6 months ago
I stayed this past weekend for a funeral. And I’d come back! Granted, I’m from Kingsford so I know the area. But this place is a little jewel. They even had a fire pit, with pre cut wood. What a thoughtful amenity! The host was responsive/ property clean. Everything an Airbnb should be. Kudos! 🙌🏻👍🏻 All said, a couple of minor small observations. -Dust the dining room chairs, especially the rails. (I inspected hotel rooms for 20+ yrs.). ☺️🤷‍♂️ -That sliding door didn’t instill confidence. -An electronic lock with a code would be awesome. -T-mobile internet. ($55 per mth). Hot spot works, but it’s a pain. Great job and appreciate your warm hospitality! Best, -B
