Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Päijänne

We stayed at Tapani’s place for two nights on our road trip. The place was easy to get to and clean when we arrived. We never met the hosts, but the check-in was easy. The home is atmospheric and typical for the time period in Finland. Bedrooms are nicely located upstairs and everything else is downstairs, so sleepers are not disturbed. The neighborhood is quiet, as is the whole town, but we managed to buy basic groceries from the local store. The location is close to Jyväskylä for example, if you are looking for more things to do. Overall, our family of four enjoyed the stay and Tapani’s place had everything we needed for the stop-over.

Beautiful house and yard. Everything has been carefully designed and implemented. The decor was cozy and the family of 5 was a great fit. The sauna was great. The beach is really shallow, but it has a pleasant sandy bottom. There are good sports facilities nearby.

A weekend getaway at the cottage, in the peace of the countryside. It was peaceful and nature was nearby. You could have gone down to Messila when it was so close to the slopes, but maybe next time. It was very nice to stay here, everything worked as expected and the description of the cottage was accurate. Responses to messages were quick! It was very entertaining.

The stay met our needs brilliantly. Guests included two dogs who enjoyed the outdoors in the fenced-in yard. The youngest guest was a 5-month-old baby with a travel crib ready. There was also plenty of level space in the bathroom, and the changing of the mantle went smoothly. I'm sure we'll book a stay again if we're on the go with a larger group of people.

Lea is a lovely host - very welcoming, warm, friendly, accomodating, easygoing and flexible. I had no issues whatsoever with her or my stay in her house. The house and her property by the lake is just gorgeus, the view is so calming and beautiful to look at. She takes great care of her garden too. I found the house having a very peaceful energy to it, I felt very relaxed there. The only slight downside for me personally was the double bed itself in the bedroom I stayed in. The mattress felt as it had seen it's better days, didn't feel quite firm enough for me, but then again this might not be an issue to other guests at all. I personally happen to have certain back issues and a good bed is something that's very important to me (I had forgotten to ask about the bed prior to my trip). I spoke to Lea about it after my first night and she was just wonderful with the whole thing as with everything else - didn't get triggered or provoked at all. She offered one of the other rooms to me as the single beds are firmer and that I could pretty much choose freely what ever works for me best as I was the only guest in the house during my stay. I found her to be very easygoing and just lovely in every way. I had some very nice conversations with Lea as well and we shared some great laughs too. She was also very kind to me, for example when it rained hard upon my arrival and my only shoes had gone soaking wet, she offered to dry them in the sauna for the next day. Also on another day when it kept raining, she offered me her own rain coat and rain boots so that I wouldn't get wet as I was taking part in the music festival as a singer and getting sick would have been very unfortunate. She also allowed me to practise freely in the house. Brewing a cup of coffee in the morning and the use of basic condiments such as salt and pepper while cooking in the kitchen was also included in the price. I am very pleased with my stay at Lea's beautiful home. She was a superb, fun host and seemed like a wonderful humanbeing overall. I felt great in her house and have no complaints about her whatsoever.

Great stay, such a peaceful location. Warmed the sauna on both nights, and even had a plunge in the lake, even if it was a little hard to get in. The kids were entertained with outdoor and indoor games. Comfortable beds for the four of us, we all slept so well.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful, quiet spot. The cottage was very clean and there were instructions provided for everything you need to know. Host was easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Very nice stay!😊 It was just like the photos. Spacious one-bedroom apartment for a weekend stay with one child! The kitchen was well-equipped and there were many dishes. Special thanks for paying attention to your child with toys and books, as well as your own soap! We'd love to come back again.

A clean and peaceful place.

A clean, clever, contemporary apartment right in the center of Jyväskylä. As travelers with young children, we appreciated the flexibility of the accommodation arrangements (portable beds + loose mattresses), bedroom blackout curtains, high chair, and rooftop terrace with not only views, but also a playground for children!

An excellent accommodation right in the middle of the city. Very close to the train station and easy to find. The instructions given are very clear and easy to follow. The apartment itself is on the high street but hardly any noise. The amenities are perfect, and we had a lovely stay overall!

Cozy and peaceful apartment in a great location. The car was conveniently located in a nearby parking garage, at no additional cost. It was nice to have morning coffee on the glazed balcony ☕️ The wind responded quickly to messages, and the key was easy to retrieve. This is definitely where we'll be again 🤩

The apartment was perfect. Found everything you need. Ruth was very friendly and flexible, both in and out. He also gave great tips for dining. The apartment and Ruth were worth a full 10. Recommended.

I have stayed at Mervin Aittorinne homes in Jyväskylä and Kajaani a few times already. Aittorine's apartment is conveniently passing north or south. Mervi's apartments are clean, welcoming, beautifully decorated, and well equipped. Everything you need is on the spot. Communication with Mervi is always great, and the visit is effortless from start to finish. I can warmly recommend Mervi's apartments and will be happy to stay there again!

It's been here and we'll be back. Great location. Lovely spacious. Everything you can get in the apartment. Strong recommendation. Also for a family with children.
